Winning score was just over $2600 I think....well done Basil, amazing that a place bet could get you over the line. I started the day well....in front after 3 races on $970...but then went terrible....until last, I too backed that winner each way, with a % slice of the tri, so Bigalthelegend team of myself, was up a few hundred for the day.

You would have to be game to bet on this race so early. I would say around 10 or so will start in cup, so tab gonna collect off non runners.

The main chch tab years ago was in Manchester St if I remember.....going there on a sat morn was fantastic....people everywhere. Same with tab in new Brighton mall 30 yrs ago. Before malls came along....this was a really busy branch on a sat.

Looking at another thread....somebody talked about TAB staff. A couple I remember from yesteryear, guy called John from Edgeware TAB. Grumpy old bugger....and his wife was good looking, we all thought that. Ha Ha. And Muzza from Shirley TAB, loved his dogs....and all sorts of funny rumours when he went. They were the days when TABs were hidden down alley ways etc

So he is obviously lurking on this site....could have debated with me rather than just post it on his twitter acc. Journos like that thou....only want to give their view. He even stated on twitter that something he mentioned was fake news.

I am sure they will have plenty phone/ text/ betting records that they are comparing with races. Have a look at sheriff's race after he won derby....see if any big bets went astray when alto Orlando didn't win...

He is involved with sheriff....who I have followed. Which I must ask....went huge in derby, brilliant time doing heaps in the race... Comes out 2 weeks later, paying about $2.50 from memory. Now I thought it was the bet of the night even over 2000m, good draw ...thought it would lead all the way ..... But, I thought those odds were too high...surely a horse doing what it did 2 weeks earlier should be paying less...so I didn't back it. Sure enough....began well to lead, but instead of holding lead....gave away to j dunn...who then ran a 62 half and sprinted home....sheriff beaten to 4th. Blair let him get the front very easily. Two weeks later in jewels....of course the money is up....Blair very aggressive in front...just nipped by dd in trail....last 100m both drivers trying very hard...which we don't always see.

Most guys would like to feel just to confirm if they are real...I will do it if no other takers

John dunn let dex in trail 500m out....was flat at time..but didn't show too much urgency. As for sheriff...goes huge in derby....next start leads....gives lead to dunn...outsprinted. Next start....driven hard for lead....2nd jewels. Makes you wonder

I bloody hope the tab show the betting records of this day.....without doubt....this particular day was one of the worst in nz harness. No doubt it will be looked at, hopefully plenty of other races where certain stables blatantly team drove

I think you are spot on....when I heard kumara staying open...I nearly fell off my chair. Sadly...If this all goes ahead....I don't see racing at all on the coast.
