  1. Just to add…. I assume TAB are pooping themselves, next year they are gonna lose a heap of turnover once the dogs stop…. and who knows what’s going to happen to gallops and harness in years to come, yes it’s unlikely but who would have thought the dogs would go 10 years ago. So maybe that’s the TAB in future years, Sports and Casino… not for me
  2. Yes, your right…. But most people in that age bracket I mentioned, have paid off their houses, have done ok in live and all have savings, go on trips, expensive toys etc. Younger generation are going to find it harder, more expensive to live, will have less disposable income than us older farts. I hate where gambling is going now, it’s plastered everywhere and I hate the online casino stuff, it’s a big worry. Those with issues can hide away at home 24/7, terrible. I loved the racing days 35yrs ago, only Aus racing from main venues were n a Weds or Sat, as well as NZ racing. TAB was closed on Sun, as well as Thursdays, reason being most people got paid on this day. But nowadays, we have all this gambling awareness shit, TAB are a joke.
  3. TAB want control of everything…. I have the same feel when you’re playing Jenga and it starts to wobble before it collapses. I know many punters, a couple of weeks ago a dozen all between 40yrs and 65yrs discussed the TAB at the club over a pint. Of the 12, 10 had a TAB account that they used most weeks, 6 of the 10 had Aus account, 3 of 10 had Betcha account. Of the 6 that had Aus account, all included myself stated that the money they now spent in Aus…. WOULD NOT BE SPENT AT THE NZ TAB…. It seemed all had their preferences, some only used Tab for bonus offers, extra large pools, or Quads at local meetings. Betcha spend was bonus offers and mainly sport, Aus accounts for bonus offers. The 2 that didn’t have accounts hardly bet now, due to their local TAB closing. This is going to be a disaster, punters are sick of being told where they can gamble, I can shop anywhere in the world? TAB started with a hiss and a roar, offering all sorts of promos, once geo blocking comes in, will be like the 90s, punters getting screwed, no promotions, with the TABs take it or leave it attitude. I am around 60yrs, have bet most weeks since I was 18yrs, but for once, if and when geo blocking comes in, I will reduce my spent, or stop all together. Maybe they will offer me a deposit match every few weeks, might take it, might not, just not bothered anymore.
  4. Not a good look, but bad draw and first look on track, I actually punted winner so I’m happy. No doubt Marketplace and Republican Party will bolt in next start…. Happens all the time, look at Manawatu this week… First day majority of Mickey House runners out for run…. 2nd day, boom.
  5. Wow, wonder what he has spent his cash on? 😋
  6. Oh well, let’s leave it at that, I’m wrong and i apologise. Very strange that apart from yourself, nobody has added positive comments about the stable…. Well Tab4ever of course, but that’s a given
  7. Yeah, good day for you, well done. But they used to win from the back, but hardly now. Seems a few jockeys got going early, very wide home turn, but they were left flat footed when leaders kicked. When the harness raced on it early 80s, they came from well back, as did gallops. From a betting point, not for me.
  8. What are the horses? With so many horses in their stables, you should be able to name a heap of them?
  9. Well they didn’t get that far looking when told no. Look I don’t want to stir the pot here, as we all know sometimes we are not told the 100% truth, although I do believe the people involved. No worries if you want to remove my posts, don’t want people jumping up and down. One reason I would never go into a syndicate with a big harness or gallops stable, that so so many involved, you have no say in anything.
  10. You are a tosser, need to read properly. Duh, I know Te Akau race plenty to n the Sth Island. My point being is they have huge control in these syndicates, if they no longer want to race a horse, even though the syndicate members may want to try racing elsewhere, it may not be the case. Not dogging the stable, is what is. Just stating that syndicates seem to have issues, with all stables.
  11. I havnt hinted at anything, I have mentioned one scenario, just as it is.
  12. Well do you know any Te Akau runners that have raced in other stables?
  13. Only hear about the success stories, ad on trackside at the moment makes me 🤮 One syndicate I know of wanted to race a horse down south rather than see it beaten up north each start…. wouldn’t allow another trainer to race it, so no bad luck. Those involved were peeved…. Thats why you don’t see any Te Akau runners changing stable, wouldn’t want someone improving it! Apart from the top owners, rest are just a number
  14. Wow, that track is crap. Nothing coming from back, makes Te Rapa look good.
  15. I’m not a fan of Ellis and Te Akau….you hear the good stories, but I know a few that I wouldn’t like to repeat….
  16. Geo blocking won’t go ahead in NZ, no other major country allow it. Let’s face it, NZ has little in racing and sports that punters world wide want to invest on, rugby is a dead duck, and our horse racing is a wooden spoon compared to Aus…. So Entain expect to have a monopoly …. but want to allow punters to bet on overseas racing, events for little? Australia may want a bigger slice, at the moment they are getting a cut from NZ punters betting with them, maybe if it’s stopped some sort of Tarif could be applied, Trump will help. Sky City allow overseas punters to bet with them, so they won’t want it, other sites will also be blocked so NZers will be peeved. As I have stated, if I couldn’t bet in Aus, my total bet spend in NZ would not increase with TAB or Betcha, I use each agency for specific betting as most do.
  17. Ha, you obviously don’t withdraw much, that’s common knowledge
  18. Well, how big was the crowd? Also, did the BGP group have any winning bets?
  19. Yeah, 👍 only battled for 4th, a bit keen early, thought would go better. Woah, what luck winner had with that inside run
  20. I don’t mind Kirsten Green, at least she is confident enough to get horses to the front, seems to rate them well. And she trains a few winners, so must be doing something right. Don’t know for sure, but must win the most races for a female driver / trainer down south? That’s a guess 😆
  21. Ha, thought someone would comment. Had perfect trip, others had crap runs. At least it will pay for feed for a month…. Good luck Kev, but wow
  22. Got on at $7-50….. if your looking at form in this race, it stands out easily. Now at $4.80, will win well
  23. Did you lose $5 tonight….
