    What sport, you mean racing? Poor old punter expected to prop up racing is it, so while anyone can gamble on a casino overseas and buy anything they want overseas, NZ government now insists that they control where I gamble….. even worse 90% of my gambling is on overseas sports or Aus racing….. overseas operators could argue they provide the goods, so should get more from it? And what about the dogs…. so looks like they are going, but hang on, it seems Entain will still provide Aus greyhounds for NZ punters to gamble on….. FFS. I’m angry about this….

    Nope, talking to Sportsbet today, it seems if it’s law in NZ they will not allow NZ punters to bet with them, they also stop some Aussie states from promotions.

    What a crock of shit….. I’m really peeved off about this. How dare they tell me where I can gamble. Right, this is if for me, I will be betting less than ever. Seems they are counting on basketball punters to make it rich…

    It’s another gambling site run by Entain and operated by Australians. Supposedly targeting younger punters who want to gamble on sports, but you can bet on horses also. No agencies, all online depositing and withdrawals

    Big increase in Sports Betting, gallops turnover down even though more accounts opened. I assume majority of new accounts will be new Betcha accounts?

    Yes I had mentioned that I get better offers from Betcha which is why I now use them over TAB. I am puzzled why would they offer better matched deposits, bonus bets for a punter like myself, around 70% horses & 30% sport? I thought it was targeting sports punters only. Yes they do offer different bet types, but mainly the same, even app same. I even had contact with my account manager from Betcha, asked me to let me know if I want tickets to events…. never had anyone ever contact me from TAB

    Only 6% of all NZ turnover? Wow, thought it would be more that. Do you know the breakdown sport vrs racing? I struggle with the targeted market…. as they offer everything the TAB has so targeting the same market. Only real difference, all deposits a withdrawels online only.

    So we don’t know figures for Betcha? I know it’s targeting youngsters to gamble, especially in the sports area, but I’m an old fart, Betcha are sending me bonus matched deposits nearly every week, and on fridays and saturdays I get about 18 bet returns available… so actively competing with NZ TAB…. end result being I am hardly betting with TAB anymore…. So interesting

    Interesting thread….. What about Betcha? Is money gambled with Betcha included in TABs turnover? Seems very strange Entain starting Betcha in NZ, we were told it was targeting younger gamblers, but really both are similar.

    All good, I’m just like others on here thinking it’s like the Scoobs and Leo days…. don’t worry, I’m gonna have a rest posting on gallops site, I’m over it. Maybe post odd time on harness site, but these sites have become very flakey and add nothing, farewell for now, won’t miss the BS ads…..

    The Ryders had a handy team in the 80s….you may be able to answer this. Speedy Cheval started off with M Vermuluen, but was transfered later to Ryder stable, what was the story there, maybe it was sold to Aus and had a few starts in NZ first. From memory it went ok, I punted it in NZ cup when it came 3rd to Luxury Liner, think Speedy looked likely turning in, but others outstayed it. What are the Ryder’s up to now, cheers

    Both TAB and Betcha fixed odds are the same prices, so one must be doing it for the other. Entain stated they would not lay off any TAB staff for 2 yrs…. that date must be getting close so must be a few that go. I contacted Betcha last year to enquire about something, I am sure the guy said he worked at Ladbrooks, but not 100% sure. Makes sense, cut TAB staff in NZ, get Aussie staff to pick up slack. Have had Betcha call me a few times recently, offering tickets for events, never had offers from TAB ever in 40 yrs punting….
