Due to what I call totally unwarranted pressure from a few individuals (one in particular) I have reluctantly agreed to have a Poll regarding the future of Thomass on Boay.  The outcome of the poll will NOT be binding - I will make the final decision.

I guess this is how those far left socialists operate.  At least we are operating in a virtual world and subject of this poll will not be subjected to anything more harmful that a public display of who likes and dislikes him.  Thanks Thomass for agreeing to this poll.

Good stuff Chief. On reflection I respect you sticking to your principles.

I still would like to know how Thomass feels about free speech when he doesn't agree with it. His mob hate Jordan Peterson who is coming here next month.

Let's watch them all try to shut him down.

You going to see him Pete? Should be a good talk.

I vote for Thomarse to stay.

I think it's time to put some perspective on how one forms an opinion about a particular poster.

Thomarse is a polarising character, and can be both abrasive and compassionate in the same sentence.

I first met Thomarse when I was guest speaker at the K Road 12 Step Sexual Devients meeting on a Sunday night.

As a Doctor of very rare sexual diseases, I was speaking about personal hygiene and the consequences of not washing your hands, and other personal parts, after engaging in all matters of the urging body.

I noticed Thomarse purely because he was the only attendee of the twenty six, who had bought his blow up doll to the meeting.

My first impression was how close he was to his doll, both in terms of physical closeness, but also in the way he was talking to her, in a manner that indicated a very close connection.

Thomarse was alert, attentive and gave the impression of being of sound mind.

He genuinely indicated a personality of caring and sharing and on that basis, surely he deserves an opportunity to participate on a forum such as this.

There is an old saying that he who casts the first stone is usually a person who needs a private eye to look into his own affairs. That probably won't apply here of course, because we are all from solid stock. No skeletons in our cupboard I'm sure.

So, allow me conclude by asking for your compassion.

Give him one last chance.

I agree. I don't exactly 'love' him..that would be taking things too far. I have a lot of admiration for his stamina. Its been well over 12 months since Taxinda was propped up into temporary prime ministership by the ailing winstone. And Tommo's still following her like a blind man. And a deaf man too. Speaking of dogs, a mate of mine had a pit bull with a huge studded collar..he'd pull on the lead if the dog got too boisterous. Thats what BOAY needs, a collar for Tommo. And a lead attached so it can be yanked if necssary.?

Well Kopia I do find your prepondency to take threads off into the Political ether of Red vs Blue a bit annoying. ?

It's the Chiefs site. He has the power to invent as many words as he'd like too.

Politically, I much prefer a combination of both Red & Blue.

Mustelid Musing #110

Any person who speaks intelligently about political correctness can't be all bad.

"I will never use words I hate, like the trendy and artificially constructed words "zhe" and "zher." These words are at the vanguard of a post-modern, radical leftist ideology that I detest, and which is, in my professional opinion, frighteningly similar to the Marxist doctrines that killed at least 100 million people in the 20th century.

I have been studying authoritarianism on the right and the left for 35 years. I wrote a book, Maps of Meaning: The Architecture of Belief, on the topic, which explores how ideologies hijack language and belief. As a result of my studies, I have come to believe that Marxism is a murderous ideology. I believe its practitioners in modern universities should be ashamed of themselves for continuing to promote such vicious, untenable and anti-human ideas, and for indoctrinating their students with these beliefs. I am therefore not going to mouth Marxist words. That would make me a puppet of the radical left, and that is not going to happen. Period."

Chief...a preponderance is ' a superiority in numbers, influence etc'....

maybe the word your'e searching for could be.. 'prediliction'?..." a mental preference, or preference" ?  I'll put my hand up for that. I just hate the simpering left.?

Yes, nice word.  Or perhaps an even slightly easier word - "propensity".

Was watching a preview show on Trackside at the weekend and the host (Matt Cross?) asked whether a certain factor in a horse's chances (bad draw or something like that) was "exasperated" by another factor.  I think he meant "exacerbated" which kind of rhymes with a ruder word, which is kind of appropriate given his efforts to sound extra smart by using big words which he clearly didn't know the meaning of.

Keep it simple!

indeed indeed...though 'prediliction' is, in fact, predilection...just saying.
