Happy Sunrise
Answer: Blair Orange It is a good read, including the defence laid out by Blair Orange. Do the RIU write down the conversation as they go or do they record it on their phones?? http://www.jca.org.nz/non-race-day-hearings/non-raceday-inquiry-riu-v-b-n-orange-decision-dated-30-april-2020-chair-j-h-lovell-smith 1. The respondent Blair Nathan Orange is a licenced Public Trainer under the Rules of New Zealand Harness Racing (HRNZ). He is 41 years old and first held a HRNZ licence in 1995. 2. At 2.54pm on Saturday 14 March 2020 Racing Integrity Unit Racecourse Investigator Kylie Williams and Steward Scott Wallis attended the property of Licensed Public Trainer, Nigel McGrath. 3. The purpose of their visit was to serve McGrath with a document and request items related to a Harness Racing matter the previous day. 4. The matter under investigation had no relevance to Mr Orange whatsoever. 5. McGrath was present in the stable’s courtyard with Mr Orange and former licensed person Jamie Keast, drinking alcohol. 6. Mr Wallis said “hello” to the group and in reply Mr Orange said, “What the f... do you want?” 7. Mr Wallis replied, “We are here to see Nigel”. 8. Mr Orange continued to look at Mr Wallis and said, “you should just f... off” and then looked at Mr McGrath and said, “tell them to f... off”. 9. Mrs Williams and Mr Wallis engaged in conversation with Mr McGrath. 10. Mr Wallis had his cell phone in his hand and Mr Orange said, “Put your f...... phone away Scott”. 11. The conversation between Mr McGrath and RIU staff continued for a short time and at 3.02pm the staff went to leave the property. 12. As they walked past Mr Orange on their way out Mr Wallis said, “Goodbye Blair”. 13. Mr Orange replied, “just f... off”. 14. Mr Wallis kept walking and said, “I don’t know why you are like this with me, I have done nothing wrong to you”. 15. Mr Orange replied, “well you haven’t f...... tried to help us”. 16. The pair continued walking towards their car with Mr Orange continuing to tell them to “f... off”.

the galah
Orange's behavior was ridiculous by the sounds of it.. He is better than that, but not on that day obviously. Is that the way someone who is a role model should behave? Orange needs to look at himself in the mirror... Wallis was a well respected stipe pre Inca, yet all that's somehow changed just because he works for an organization that some no longer like. Orange doesn't have to like him if he doesn't want to,,but Orange went too far with his totally disrespectful and juvenile comments.. Hunter you keep up the them and us attitude and personal attack approach. Hows that going for those you support so far? Keep digging the hole. After watching Natalie Rasmussen's interview, I bet if she had a few drinks under her belt she would have been exploded on camera in a similar manner ? While Orange shouldn't do what he did, in the predicament he is currently in with INCA etc, a couple of stipes turning up at McGrath's where quite obviously the boys are having a bitch session about the Nigel's situation and the like, it would be so easy to let rip. Not the right thing to do but understandable. Hope the fine was worth it lol.

All he's done is made himself look stupid and someone who shows poor judgment when he drinks. Like i said he needs to self reflect on how to handle what he is dealing with in a constructive way, that is of long term benefit to him and his family. It all seems a bit self destructive at the moment.. Of course that's easy for an outsider to say. He's living it. Everyone and everything is different. I wonder what its like to have all these people on social media digesting your actions? That can't help.

Here is one from left field, in this age of employee welfare etc what are HRNZ doing to support those who need it? 7 minutes ago, the galah said: I wonder what its like to have all these people on social media digesting your actions? Maybe it should just be raceday charges that do, otherwise, it becomes cannon fodder for keyboard warriors like myself. Again, in this day and age of individual welfare, should they reconsider publishing non raceday charges?

I might add, the JCA and RIU basically write their own reports and make themselves smell like roses. One never hears of the starter getting in trouble when he does diabolical things at the start of a race that lead to chaos. If anything is done, it is behind closed doors....comforting for those under the protective umbrella isn' it. 1

Noodlum
So Blair is having some time out with his mates and drinking a few beers on an unlicensed property. Along come the industry police to serve one of his mates with documents. Blair lets rip with what seems to be predominantly the swear word for intercourse. Hardly at the extreme end of verbal abuse. The police are there for less than 10 minutes - not enough time to sanitise their hands and change their face masks. So the RIU lay charges against Blair. I guess the RIU have to justify the 90+ employees they have somehow. What a complete waste of time! I guess they were trying to ENFORCE respect. Respect is earnt. In the good old days the stipes would have laughed it off. 1
Brodie
Unfortunately for the harness racing industry, there have been just so many decisions made that are just blatantly ridiculous it is not funny. These have come from HRNZ, RIU and the TAB!!! All along these people have been pulling in big salaries which can not be justified by the decisions that have become detrimental to harness racing. Many of these people wouldn’t know how to run a successful business however because they have come from another institution, they must be good, so we lay them big money. Word is that Mr Allen who stood down was being paid well in excess of $500k which is more than our Prime Minister, not that she deserves it either by her decisions. The TAB in the first week of lockdown put their handout to the taxpayer because they say their turnover is going to reduce?. Most of these bigwigs don’t give an eff about racing whatsoever, it is all about themselves, how they can look good and what company they can move onto next, that pays them even more for doing next to nothing. It is time that these bigwigs in the racing industry perform or piss off, because despite what some are saying, racing is stuffed and it is due to many of the decisions that they have made!!!!!
