Find it hard to believe that if it was hooch smoking, then it would contaminate horses blood readings, but who knows, it does seem pretty fishy! I suppose we find out at 4pm today. I believe it all, once truck driver mentioned what he thought was happening, authorities had to look into it. Not sure why some think something fishy going on? 1 Quote
Guest CrossCodes Posted June 1, 2018 Posted June 1, 2018 The same old bitter Allstar haters all trying to make it out to be some sort of conspiracy or cover up make me laugh. A simple case of a couple of employees being in contact with horses after returning a positive result to illicit drugs, they did everything right in taking precautions and letting everyone know what was going on..... It will be business as usual for a professional stable. Quote

Nobody is denying that they are good trainers and have the best horses money can buy, but total domination is not good for nz harness racing, which is becoming just a feeder system to the u.s and Australia. people don't want to hang on to decent horses for long if they just pick up the crumbs.... You cant blame them for having rich owners to invest in them, but we need some solution to keep promising horses racing in n.z....this years nz cup is going to be worse than last years... and that was the worst I can remember! I'm hoping the straight out trotter doesn't end up going the same way, you can pay the big bucks for a good one, but you need a proper craftsman to have educated it first. 2 Quote

Horses cleared to race, as most sane people thought, just the crazy types that thought it was some sort of cover up?? Go the purdon team, jewels day would be ordinary without the glamour stable. Clearly you wanted this to be a big drama and for all their horses to return positives, but it hasn't happened so I suggest you build a bridge and just enjoy the good racing tomorrow. Quote

CrossCodes, don’t beleive that Happy is bitter at all! It clearly has been blown out of proportion and a P R exercise to try and show that all is above board. Do we know what the drugs were that the employees were using or smoking? 1 Quote
hunterthepunter Posted June 1, 2018 Posted June 1, 2018 it is p r exercise nine horses on an inter islander horse transporter nine sets harness and all the horse feed that in put in a very part of the transporter so where do you think they smoked there dope or p crosscodes??? next to the driver do you think?? 1 Quote

I clearly wanted the world to fall in on the All Stars judging by what I have said. I have even agreed with you. Your choice to believe what you do. I just don't believe the All-Stars are the be all and end all of harness racing in NZ. 3 Quote

Mk2_Zephyr Posted June 1, 2018 Posted June 1, 2018 the Allstars are indeed the end of Harness in NZ. I have been to Alexandra Park twice in the last year, after a long time off, both times were absolute betting rubbish. 3 Quote

I agree with you here too. Nothing in it. They had to cover themselves because who knows what those stablehands could have done while under the influence. However, I can't understand how you think I am bitter when I disagree with Newmarket over what would Jewels day would be like without the All-Stars. If there is more to it if you could furnish a reply with where my bitterness is I would be happy to respond. 1 Quote
Guest CrossCodes Posted June 1, 2018 Posted June 1, 2018 Apologies then if I misconstrued your posts. I totally agree with your earlier post that it was all a storm in a teacup. Quote
globederby12 Posted June 1, 2018 Posted June 1, 2018 I heard a rumour they were smoking P. That could be completely wrong of course. Quote

Poisoned Dwarf Posted June 1, 2018 Posted June 1, 2018 Of course it isn't exactly logical to send such quality horses away with a pair of novices instead of a trusty, long-serving travelling foreman, is it ? 1 Quote

Are you saying Purdon and is not a proper craftsman? Thanks that is the best laugh I shall get today. Have you been smoking the same stuff that the two Aussie All Star employees that featured in the news early this week? Purdon is a top square gaiter trainer. Have you forgotten about a horse called Icandoosit? He was one of the best trotters in the past decade or two. Quote
