Blair was nowhere to be seen today at the Mot!

He had accepted for drives and punters wouldve backed him on various horses, on the Fixed Odds!

Does anyone know what the reason for his non driving today was??

“Groundhog Day”,  “Bit Slow” not on your nelly Roman.

Been out and about this arvo enjoying the weather and helping people make financial decisions!

So, havent caught up with any of the new postings but no new topic re Blair going missing!

More to life than watching racing at The Mot. when you cant get enough money on to make it worth having a go!

Far easier ways at the moment to clean up!

So on a hot Sunday afternoon, what is stopping any driver having a couple of beers after they have  been tested before the first race?

120 mcg, you could just about get from just being in the bar with some of the known heavier drinkers!

By the time the hour was up, the reading wouldve been ZERO!!!

I reckon the Stewards would be having the odd one, and if they dont, then maybe they should be?

Hahaha NO Brodie, NO driver should be drinking any alcohol before race driving whatsoever.

Even in Hot Old Queensland here menand young mates driving, nor anyone else ever drunk before the races. Better to run with the Zero reading my friend !!

Have a beer AFTER THE LAST and if you did a 'Good Job' and drove or tipped a winner OWNER"S Shout !!!!

My point is that 120mcg is approx half of the legal limit you are allowed to drive a car!!!!

No I do not condone pissed harness drivers out on the track, however someone having a reading of 120mcg is barely a reading of any accord!

Yes of course there are rules in place, but surely with the 120mcg probably from drinking Saturday night, would be ZERO by the time Blair was driving!

Why are the punters who had already backed Blair Oranges drives penalised, as they didnt back the horse with another driver on It!!!

No doubt there would have been tens of thousands of dollars invested on runners in the belief that they were to be driven by mr Orange, with his driving skills a significant factor in that. Add to that the connections of the horses involved. Doesn't matter whether it be mr orange, butt or chris johnson.  It just undermines those who try to promote the sport and betting.

Well that is Bad Luck for the Punters unfortunately as Blair Orange let them down.

A RULE he should of been very conscious of after the 2016 episode too, for the same thing.

Levels should be ZERO . (my personal opinion for car driving too) and how much the reading is and speculating whether "I'm FINE to drive, Only had one (or two at the most I think)"  should not even be a Factor.

Horses race in 'close proximity', even the best drivers like Blair need to be 100% concentration to keep the safety aspect 100% under control.

If it was a party/farewell for an industry person why the hell hold it a day b4 a meeting, could have got absolutely hammered friday night with no meeting on saturday.

On a positive note how good was that drive by John Patterson at the MOT, fist winning drive since 2013, his horses have always been well mannered and for a bloke who hardly drives he always seems to find the 1/1 or behind the leader/3 back the rail. Small time owner/trainers like him are few and far between now but blokes like him, Graham Telfer and Noel Taylor seem to like the challenge of having a few trotters and yes they may not be the fastest but the majority of their horses are competitive and I'm happy to back them in the right race.

I would still back him at 600 mcg and he would still be better that 90% of the rest, 120 mcg is fuck all!

Yep not a big deal but against the rules they sign up for when they renew their license every year.zNot a big deal that Blair will probably get a month on the sidelines.

If they get caught just be prepared to do the time.We have a zero limit for forklift driving where I work.

I was not condoning drivers being on the piss during the day if that is what you thought?

I was pointing out that if you are tested prior to the first race then quite feasible to have a beer or two up the hill at Mot or hidden away somewhere if there is not testing during the day

Yeah, but 30 years ago you could get away with a heap of things, even smoke in a pub!!

Surprised that Blair got caught again, maybe he just doesnt give a shit anymore.

It is a job, no one else is allowed to drink when working in the real world. Why should it be ok for them. Especially in racing anything. Cars, horses....... It is also a hugh health and safety no no. It is not rocket science. I mean come on...No excuses, just don't drink while working. Have a cold lemonade, or a 00 Heineken if it has to taste like beer.
