I mean c'mon guys and gals, it was only time until this hit the news. As they say the world hasnt got worse the news has just got juicer gossip. They aren't going to write stories of good like Matt Purvis having his best season yet, they will write a negative story to get the click bait going

What about the false beach news of 3 days ago?

Just proves someone feeds this low life journalist of something which can stuff the sport.

Haha. Heres the thing, I usually go thru and as an acknowledgement I just like most peoples content as a recognition I have read their post. Whether I agree or not. I used to do this too when I was actually on social media lol.

Now I know Iv been posting a lot and need to back it off and I will. And I'm am usually very positive about Davis posts and said he is the man with being the Link Man,

Yet he goes and down like my comment post. When I was actually in the process of calling myself out. For posting on this thread.

I just wanted to point out to peeps, BEWARE. Who is reading BOAY. Nothing more, nothing less!

BUT WHATEVA.

This is an internal witch hunt by industry participants.

Likely gypsy bottom fielder trainers who cannot drive or train.

JEALOUS stitchers who are no good..

what a surprise you putting your normal 5 cents worth in Martin.

I hope those bottom feeder trainers as you put it don’t bother bidding at your yearlings in the sale.

No actually Davis

Do you actually think or know that someone that dislikes the industry so much would late last nite email the journo, and say oh B Orange was just over the limit.

It would make really good headlines. Write a story tomorrow about it. Go on go on.

Or do you think that he checked in on BOAY saw what was being said.

Then did his own investigation and then as you say got his razor pencils sharpened and started an article to be released today.

I mean the STRIPE report was only out late last nite wasn’t it.

No more Karrots liking your stuff after the down like ☹️

Further more Davis,

If you actually think that someone did actually email him to tell him.

They had to (A). know about it somehow - within short space of time.

Then (B). They had to have enough pull or crediblity with that journo for him to follow it up and further more write a story about it.

Then (C). What is his or they meaning 2 if the above is correct what is their motive?

Ill say it again & down like my post here if you must again, but just remember this is a public domain and anyone can be  👀

That post takes the cake.

I'll say it again. The ones defending the drivers concerned are not helping them, in fact just the opposite.

Anyway its a shame Orange or Butt did not front up and comment when approached for comment in the article. No doubt both are embarrassed and i would expect both understand and accept they were at fault in this case. Just a simple comment to that effect was all that was needed.

From memory Oranges public comments the first time he transgressed at omakau in 2016 was an example of how to take responsibility for your actions, I can't see why he would not have the same approach this time. Its just you should not make the same mistake twice, but people do, and they have to deal with it.

Yes Davis. Now do you want bet or not? It was up today right. Yes/No?

How many hours after it happened? Count?

How do you think he found this out?

How many journos do you know?

Not being mean at all, I know currently about 5. I know exactly how they operate. That does NOT matter. I am quite sure that he read stuff on here yesterday and then went and investigated and wrote story.

I am willing to have a bet on it are you?

I know Press journos who are real piss heads, some have lost their driving licenses due to excessive blood alcohol. Does Von Beynon write about them?

Of course he is entitled to report this but he's always overly negative concerning harness racing. Why did he need to mention McGrath and M. Kerr in this story? Those two blokes got nothing to do with this case.

Von Beynon puts the boot into harness racing any chance he gets...

I know it must seem like this to harness industry insiders, but it misunderstands van Beynen's role. He's an *investigative* reporter, which means he's employed to, well, dig up dirt. And the sad fact is that harness not only keeps showing him where to dig, but hands him the shovel as well. Blaming him for harness's poor public image is like blaming Bob Woodward for Watergate.

At the risk of being stoned, I'd also point out that van Beynen is far and away the best journalist remaining at The Press (admittedly that's not saying much these days, but he'd have stood out in an earlier era as well). If he thinks Harness should be hounded, then those involved in the industry should ask themselves why, and what they should do about it. Continuing down the same path will just provide him with more ammunition.

You are so correct here.
Are these so called defenders actually helping Blair. It’s quite well known that he has an issue with the alcohol. Just maybe if people like Martin offered his help instead of using scenarios like this to bash the Riu then maybe Blair would get himself in these predicaments.

Rules are in place to make racing safe as can be for all competing.

Blair Orange (and Mr Butt) has breached an important rule (and should KNOW BETTER from previous experience)

Of Course its a LOW threshold (and definitely it should be too !! )

Some posters think they can 'drive' fine at certain readings , well everyone is different , WHY take Chances .???

Blair and Bob did the Wrong thing and will be penalised for their stupidity. (but will be back winning at some stage).

why people are worrying 'Who broke the story is a mystery'. It's a big story (and IMPORTANT learning one for all industry participants. (Some People learn faster than others apparently) OF course when the Leading driver is relieved of his drives it Should make the 'Headline News' really.

and is another Black eye/embarrassment for harness racing (von-beynon or NO von-beynon)
