Sounds ok to live in those places as long as you wear a gas mask.

Yes and no.  To be honest I'd rather live in the Canterbury climate than where I live now.  The seasons are pronounced - you experience Summer, Autumn, Winter and Spring. The Summers are hot and the Winters are cold.  Autumn and Spring are fantastic.  That's why you get good wines and great apples and tough horses - well harness wise!

Forgot to add in my weather lesson above.  The other similarity between the South Island NZ and California USA is that both have cold sea currents flowing up their coasts i.e. the sea is cold.  The current in the Sth Island comes from Antarctica and in California from the Arctic. So the sea breeze phenomena doesn't work the same especially in winter.  Hence the temperature inversion over land AND water.

Maybe that's why forbury wasn't too summery most days lol

any word on that queensland sheila with the outstanding udr HTP ?

I’m going to take a guess, that her defence gets her off the charges that we read about before name suppression came in. We will have to wait & see the verdict. (Remember Forbs quoting me saying, "that there are some things that I don't know which are not good or something", so my guess maybe off the mark).

But anyways,

Good luck to them all. What a horrible thing to have to go thru so publically.

He just has some differing opinions and ways of expressing them to most, and cops a bit of flak for that. I'm not sure what happens on social media platforms, but people do seem to like mocking him for some reason, which is often over the top.

A few years ago I thought about moving to Waimate. It is a nice wee town of about 8000 people. On the negative side it is a town that often has poor air quality and higher nitrate levels in the water.Just up the road Timaru used to have the worst air quality in oceania and it still has poor air quality. I once lived in oamaru and there was always a lot of waimate jokes. Can't repeat most of them but generally you were told to come home before they locked the gates at night and not to drink the water.

Been doing some research on Waimate, just under 3 grand in the town, under 8 in the district, never hear much about the place,Norm Kirk is buried there, probably a lot of other people as well lol,in some ways the races were one if the most notable events to happen there, now it's gone, sad in many ways,I've been there a few times,I'm sure lots on here probably havnt, just a run of the mill country town basically.

Can recall going to the gallops there, in the late 80s, nice venue, and had a couple of jumping races to, bloody shame these small club lose their identity when shifting to another venue, only the staunch racing enthusiast will bother to travel out of the district to attend, where the casual race goer wont give them a thought sad really, and the waste of a good facilities, especially after the big upgrade they done.
