Big job for someone! CEO of the TAB!

Recommended Posts

Can be the big CEO and push round Molloys mate Greg! if feel like you are up to the challenge of trying to save a sunset industry.  Most likely if you are Pom or Aussie bully! it can be seen as being advantage! 😉 . Remember we once use be the envy of the world! 😉. Also being  member of Labour Party helps! and mates with big Walkato breeders is most likely needed....  https://www.livehire.com/careers/tab/job/3Q9GQ/JY6NYJGO2O/chief-executive-officer?useBrowserBack=true

Doesn't say anything about having a decent dose of commonsense understanding of gambling or that they have to have a plan for regaining the confidence of their core customers .

At least that narrows down the field a bit GoJ, I hear Ned Kelly has put his hand up for the job, but me thinks he might be over qualified!

Surprised the so-called chair of NZTR and Warriors CEO not put his name down. Then have the honor of turning everything in NZ Racing to the shit. Also, surprised no washed-up Government department heads, not put name down as well. That or some former worker in Ardern or some minister's office, been bullied out of their or paid out to keep quiet... Failing that have be some import, with flash CV, but who has washed up.

Actually, going to ask, what has NZ First and Labour done? . Bar try close down race courses and sell off them off. To benefit the likes of Hogan, Vella, Ellis and all the other big boy backers of NZ First Foundation. Just can never find anyone wants talk about that Foundation, bar some documents in a dumpster?

At the risk of playing devil's advocate - what, exactly, should any govt 'do' for racing?

Our govt ( not just this one, previous ones too )  subsidise our industry to the tune of some 150 mill p.a.

I respectfully submit that it is racing itself which has led to the situation it finds itself in now.

Those who wail ' look what the govt does for racing in Aus '  would do well to remember the adage ' be careful what you wish for '.

Yes, racing does receive millions from state and federal coffers...but not as much as is collected in taxation, duties, and betting licenses.   They can afford to give some back.

A bloated,  lazy and incompetent monopoly has never had to be slick, efficient  and accountable.

What has Racing done for itself except mismanage and piss all its Government benefits against the wall?

Well a number of politicians, have indicated along the lines of when you can help yourself ,we may be more inclined to come to the party.

The code divisions, the partisan clubs and the old boy network nature of administration weigh down any progress.

A slow, lingering demise is the future I'm afraid.Very interested to see if all weather tracks have any impact.

As a punter I avoid them.
