    Have a look at the premiership table.There are plenty who aren't firing. 18 in work with only 14 starts would suggest she may have a lot of young and untried horses and also that she maybe getting them redy for overseas.

    Good friend of mine was an app in the 40s/50s.He recalls travelling by Bristol Freighter to the Winter Cup meeting in CHCH.He says despite being underneath horse blankets the cold was nearly unbearable. In the summer he used to put wollen jumpers on and spend Friday afternoons in a car in the blazing sun and in the winter visiting businesses with boilers and asking them if he could sit in the boiler room.

    IMO trainers don't want to go there be it turf or awt. I think that you could justify an awt at Trentham if you had a large number of trainers based at Trentham.

    IMO the fate of Trentham was sealed many moons ago with the removal of the Sales. Its been in slow decline since then.

    James Cummings appears to be going thru a lean period in the big races.Still training winners but not as often in the big ones that would appeal to Godolphin imo.

    Very hard to get enthused about anything thats happening in NZ Racing at the moment. The big boys seem to be going ok but for the ordinary race follower,Racing is certainly in the doldrums.

    Always rated Collett but i find he rises to a new level when Bowman and James Mac aren;t around. That ride on the winner of the first at Randwick today was a peach.
