After the debate about the Prince Teka incident and the late scratchings to go with it, the stipes make Be Mine Tonight a late scratching because the horse in front of it lost the gate so it must have been deemed to have been denied a fair start. It happened very close to the start line so this begs the question how far off the gate does a horse need to be to be late scratched? The precedents are getting more and more involved.
