Not backable at the moment and is in the same mould as Red Envy. Over promises through its trials and under delivers on race day at short odds. Their time will come in my opinion but not at the moment.

Cup is at 3.38 and rugby starts at 4. Get the race on at the pub to generate some excitement pre game.

They seem to be staggering them these days. I get irritated when 8 of the 10 markets are open and 2 don't come up until well after the opening. How many times does one need to refresh to see if they are there!- 1 reply

If Vigoroso can be bought by aussies and win over there I can't see why Jimmy couldn't do the same for 1000! 1000 is a great buy if anyone is looking for a horse to race right now.

I think there will be some big divvies but it will be determined by the state of the track. Really competitive field for the Cup. I wouldn't be surprised if Self Assured got rolled.

Finally got round to watching last week's show. Thought it was a bit better with the Rakero racing piece and the chat about the ranking systems for the Cup etc. I think I now accept the show for what it is and understand and the fact they will never get into the nitty gritty of what is happening in harness racing in NZ.

Would you want to be off 30m chasing something like Wild Excuse and Di Caprio over 3000m on a possibly dead track? Could be a great race.

I am sticking with Westburn Bliss at 23 and 5.25. It's second was good at Addington in relation to this field. There are better horses in the field but with dodgy manners so its own manners will take it a fair way today.

Alford transformed the horse once he got it. Thank God for this because at least a handy horse can be on sold to make it more financially viable to own a horse in NZ.

Is Harness Racing driving the TAB'S Revenue?

If you are correct then the TAB should throw harness some bones of the betting kind. Have you ever seen this for harness racing? And they are doing for the Riccarton gallops on the same day too!

They are more consistent now he is putting better drivers on his horses. My Moment's Now is a lovely striding trotter. Every time I see it race out in front the way it covers the ground catches my attention. And Roman is right, he does well with horses he brings in.

Smaller teams. Horses hit there mark and strike rate goes down.

It is a young trotter who has only had a few starts and they all seem to be of a similar ability so will make interesting racing in the future.

It seems to go in stages. Some of the up and comers of recent times have tapered off a bit but that is only natural with not having larger teams.
