  1. and for second, Alta Orlando. ?
  2. Chase Auckland.
  3. Interesting to watch that race and to think about our good up and coming horses departing to Australia to race (which is nothing new but more common now) and some of our best going to the USA. I wonder if we have to accept more than ever that Harness Racing in NZ is more part of an international set up and we can't hope for strong NZ or Auckland or Easter Cups. Imagine if all those horses were still in NZ - What a cup it would be. Maybe we have to accept the new reality harness racing lives in. Food for thought.
  4. I still think this is really bad form. So blatant. Even though no one cares!! ?
  5. An understatement to say he burned out of gate! 24.6!. https://www.harnessmediacentre.com.au/trotstv/replays/36000
  6. Agreed. Hug the Wind in 1.49 and gets a share of $14 000. It will be so interesting to see what Lazarus can do if he is at his best.
  7. Lazurus or Lazarus? Don't think the kiwi Lazarus will be in a $14000 trot....bit those Yanks are a bit funny so who knows. (Hence the April part in my post ?)
  8. and some others and look at this! ( is it April??)
  9. With the gender outcry at the moment over the lack females in leadership or coaching positions, we had better make it Natalie! Put Mark in charge of the Silver Ferns, goodness knows they need improving.
  10. Bizarre they don't but then one sees the way businesses are managed and sports teams are coached so you if you don't have it in you then you simply don't. Mark Purdon is obviously not only the best trainer but he has the all the inherent attributes and skills to be successful in whatever he had chosen to do.
  11. Possibly, I don't tend to notice changes in driving tactics usually so it is hard to imagine drivers changing because one driver is away. Maybe they will all bow to Blair Orange and give him easy leads? I think many drivers have their own way of doing things and are usually dictated to by the draw and horseflesh. I tend to agree with Kakama. If the Dunn's like to dominate by leading then it is up to the others to...ummm....lift their game! lol
  12. Should I be flattered or dismayed? lol I will go with flattered.
  13. No, we ain't. We don't agree all the time at all. I remember stuff like the All-Stars bashing he got from the other lot because they were nasty. That is why we are on this site. I have a long memory. I even recall us not agreeing. To be honest I thought you were one of them...FTM BTW, Brodie is much more of a conspiracy theorist than I am. I don't offer any of that. I am also only wrong 1% of the time whereas Brodie is always on the money! Ha!
  14. Even Mark McNamara can't offer a highlight from the jewels yesterday. Somewhat telling.
  15. and I imagine the same applies to you, Globe! ?
  16. Do New Zealand harness trainers use it in the same way as Waller?
  17. On the other site, I believe Brodie said that was the case but he was shot to pieces by the pro-Allstars fan club who said it was untrue.
  18. The Jewels is not boring, It is just predictable. Without wanting to be negative or having this taken the wrong way as there is so much to be feted on Jewels day, I found it just really predictable. Especially given the All Stars winning 6 of the 9 races which is an amazing feat of training and driving but that is normal these days, not an exception - hence predictable. I sat on the couch the whole day yesterday to watch the all of it. It was pretty enjoyable but I knew what was coming. I have never done that before but it was a shame there was no rags to riches story, no fairytale story. No hobby trainer winning a big one, no big syndicate winning one. The only different thing was the group of lads having fun after the last race which gave the impression of an atmosphere. Is the script of the Jewels in 2019 already written? It is not hard to guess what will happen, is it?
  19. Personal attack to start and then all out defence of All Stars.... Could be a number of them. Don't care. Just ignore.
  20. For sure. Nice, and well done on the punt.
  21. Previously mentioned but came across the video. lucky the animal activists didn't catch wind of it as it is a bloody poor look. $750 is a light fine in my book. It is at 3.32 in the video link below. Driver G Smith (BRONX VILLAGE) was fined $750 by the JCA after admitting a breach of Rule 869(2) for using his whip to strike another runner (REVERSE PSYCHOLOGY) near the 200 metres during Race 12 at the North Canterbury TOA meeting on 9 May 2018. https://harness.hrnz.co.nz/gws/ws/r/infohorsews/wsd06x?Arg=hrnzg-Ptype&Arg=RaceVideo&Arg=hrnzg-RacehdrID&Arg=253804
  22. and the draw wins the last ?
  23. Majestic Man didn't look happy .. That was the biggest procession of the day and most uneventful race. Up to 6. Seems like Jo Average owner is selling to Purdon owners so maybe some are getting a quid.
  24. I will suggest OLDWHITEMAN is an old 'friend' from the other site. Best to ignore.
  25. Ashburton tomorrow. No need to panic. ? Could be some good odds.
