  1. Probably. The second tier is only Ashley Locaz and The Fixer in my eyes. The only hiccup would be if the big 4 all drew poorly.
  2. After looking at the nominations for this, the lunatics who bet into this market early on should be shot. I am standing against my living room wall as I type.
  3. 25 nominated for the Cup but it is good to see these 2 know their place.
  4. If she is better than the likes of Nandolo etc then she needed to prove it consistently. She would have made the race a lot more interesting but didn't do enough.
  5. I presume these are the final rankings. Only horse who would have made it a better field who hasn't got in is Wild Excuse but if you don't front up more often in the big lead up races I don't see why you should get in. It certainly has more depth than previous years and more winning chances. Draw will be important.
  6. This change is one for the Box Seat Boys to get their teeth into. An interview with the stipes would be good.
  7. ORLANDO MAGIC - Broke in the score up losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier record. Struck pylons on the final bend when attempting to avoid a breaking runner. SIOUX PRINCESS - Trotted roughly in the score up and was back from the unruly position at the start SOUTHERLY CHANGE - Broke in the score up and was out of position by a considerable distance at the start. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier record. None were on the gate in their rightful position so why weren't they scratched?
  8. The powers that be have obviously made a conscious decision to change the way they operate. It is a shame they can't communicate this position to everyone in a transparent manner. The Prince Teka incident was the first sighting of it which completely went against what had been done before. When Pro Surfer was scratched because it did not score was the next example of the shift. Then, Helluva, yesterday was another example of how much the rulings have changed. It was back a bit from its position but trotted away very well. What is worrying is the horse took a full part in the race and then they asked Gavin Smith if he had a fair start or not. Could this be manipulated? This is going to create difficult rulings in the future, eg an unruly trotter not in position at the start, any horse slightly off the gate, any horse not in a proper position should be considered a non starter. Poor behaviour could be rewarded. Not sure if this will make the life of the starter easier or more difficult but I suppose it absolves him from any blame as his mistakes at the start of missing horses out of position doesn't matter anymore. Late scratchings, reduced dividends and irate punters whose horses are not late scratched are going to be the new norm. Good luck to those in charge. You will need it.
  9. I would like to agree with you and have felt the same way but refer to Leaf Stride example in my first post. Now, I don't know which way to turn.
  10. Despite having a warning placed on her barrier record 2 starts ago they place another barrier record warning on top of it after yesterday and sandwiched in between is a warning on her racing record. Do these stipes even know what is going on? Do they not have memories or even records? Lets lift the standards and get Basil Fawlty in charge.
  11. So Yea You is declared a 'non-starter due to unsatisfactory manners prior to the start' So our friend Madam Sass did this So Madam Sass had unsatisfactory manners prior to the start. Why isn't she scratched? The Artful Dodger also broke before the start. Someone needs to explain the difference between these two to me.
  12. Between the starter being incompetent and the Stewards late scratching horses for next to nothing this could become a joke if it isn't already. Christ, you would see the likes of 'Yea You' once every two starts.
  13. Now you are stirring. You said what you wanted on the thread.
  14. Works for me 😁 All on the starter lol
  15. But on what trackside channel?
  16. The grass at Methven will be so long it won't matter what channel it is on.
  17. After recent rains the going at Methven could be tougher than the debate about Trackside 1 and 2... In race 1, Greenback Betty has been backed in from 15 to 8s but what about its recent workout??? Someone must inside knowledge. I will go Line A Love at 11s. Even though he is 1 on the second line I think he will weave his way through quickly and stay on the rails. Back to his best surface. A few of those front line horses may not go away with the pressure of a 1700m scramble. Miss Behavin in Race 2 has the manners and the distance is up her alley, likes the track though she is only at 3.80. In Race 4 Invisible Girl is at 3.80ff having never started at Methven and being 0 for 3 on the grass. What is up with that? For Today at 2.50ff. I think I will be waiting for the tote tomorrow.
  18. At 61ff it won't take much to get the 1500 back.
  19. Correct. Bit like me mixing up the CEO and General Manager jobs (even though that was a bit dumb on my part) Brodster thought it was only on T2 but in fact it was still on T1. I can see how that can happen. The coverage was fine, Brodster was incorrect in his assertion.
  20. I don't think he does. Actually the opposite.
  21. I have no avenue for finding out information so if I again may borrow Garrick Knight's information. An independent report? It needs another 4 months before a report is completed (and digested no doubt) before they can proceed? Why would they need an independent report and who would be producing it? How long do they need on this? Not years but decades it seems. Seriously, it is a joke now. I'm a fence sitter on this but if they can't prove things by now what hope do they have?
