I have had dogs die of a heart attack during training gallops, and they were fit staying dogs, and they did not have drugs in their system. It does happen, and I do not think dogs dropping dead at the lure at the end of a hard race is anything unusual. All Greyhounds face this risk during hard exercise, especially those with dicky hearts. Dogs are not born equal when it comes to the heart, some are just susceptible to having a weak heart. Just my thoughts on it.

Yesterday at Addington race 11. Opawa Vinny red hot favourite. Down 1.5 kilo's in 4 days. Thats about taking a pound of butter of the dog everyday. Hughs was Chairman of the RIB which recently oversaw the changing of the Racing Act Constitution to allow more profits from the TAB to be spent on sports, and less on racing. Prior to the change, all profits from the TAB were funneled back to racing by law. Now sports are on an equal footing with racing when it comes to diving up the profits. Yes the same TAB that was built on the back of racing. Now sports get to get half the profits without skin in the game. She is a sellout.

Trebles and double's are terrible bets as the TAB PLUNDER them with exorbitant takeouts. Because they are un comingled this gives the TAB license to rip into them.

Probably because they were wrong, and lawyers would become involved if they didn't. As I said, they are incompetent, and this is what you get when you have poor quality employees running the show. I could say something else, but will bite my tongue and give them the benefit of the doubt. Needless to say, legally they, the NZGRA would of been skating on thin ice if it went the judicial way, and paying out the winning stake was the cheapest way out. Brendon would have a pretty cashed up war chest to employ good lawyers. Just my opinion.

B Cole nominates dog in good faith going on information received from NZ Greyhound Ass. Then Goldstar [ Steve Evens] discovers dog is not eligible under the rules pertaining to said race and puts it out there on social media. NZGRA are then forced to back track because Steve was correct in that the dog was not eligible under the rules. Not B Coles fault, but NZGRA's fault for incorrect information. End result, B Cole forced to scratch, and compensation paid out to Mr Cole. NZGRA are incompetent, and should apologise for wasting industry money.
