  1. Cannot get excited about Wheeler dogs plundering NZ stake money Jason. They will all be distant memory's in a years time. Meantime all the money goes offshore on a one way trip.

    amazing chase

You took the words from my mouth CrossCodes, the amazing yawn. What a waste of industry funds for some glorified trials on behalf of Australian interests. The only good thing to come out of it was, the sole kiwi dog bred by Brent Johnson won it. Congratulations Brent Johnson.

Greg Kerr makes rules as he goes. Always has. He is a disaster. The man is incompetent.

Yes, you are correct mumbles, thats what you get when you rely on memory rather than Google.

Yes, I am convinced that if the Mine Rescue Team, which was fully trained for an advent such as Pike River had been utilised, then the outcome would have been entirely different. I believe they would of succeeded in getting all the bodies out at the very least, and or possibly got live ones out. There was at least a 24 hr window after the explosion where the mine was safe to enter with breathing apparatus. Instead they gave control to a stupid weak Policeman that had no idea on how mines work or operate. Because of his lack of knowledge, he was paralysed with fear in making decisions.

Yes I remember the Kursk well, read a very good book on that disaster. Putin was not running Russia then, long before his time. Think the drunken Yeltsin was in charge then.

Imagine if a disaster such as this happened in NZ. We would have the Police overseeing the operation along with OSH. There would be much hand ringing and discussion, and very little activity. And 14 days after the event, they would be no further ahead. Thailand 13, Pike River nil. I really have to hand it to the Thais, they were not to proud to be able to call for international help. They were not to proud to use volunteers, and hand over the decision making processes to these people. And after one death in the rescue, they didn't let this deter themselves in their efforts in a successful mission. Hats off to Thailand where they havn't let political correctness takeover their thinking.
  8. The useless Kerr was supposed to be on top of this when he was the welfare officer. He let the entire industry down by his inaction.
  9. 2001 so maybe a spritely 11year old.?
  10. There was 3 Aqua's in it, it was a 6 dog field, Dalmeny Olga finished 2nd, and I think one of the Aqua's finished 3rd. Aqua Mouse won it. I then left Mouse in the care of Bob and Delyus, who then went on and won the Silver Collar 3/4 weeks later.
  11. Hey Jason, and I thought 962 mtrs was a long race, just a wimpy distance compared to these hounds.?
  12. Thought I would put this on for all those wimpy sprinters. Notice how well they pull up. No nonies here, no tying up or cramp.
  13. Savanna Amour R8 Doomben.
  14. How bloody exciting a race it must have been. zzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
  15. I think Dusty is the ideal dog. It will depend on how much time he has to recover from his present assignment. I hope Karen follows through with the nom.
  16. Yes Jason, I do love my stayers. I really like quality stayers that finish a staying campaign, then have a couple of weeks of R/R just walking on the lead, freshen up nicely, then put them in a middle distance race. They invariably perform. They do heats and finals better because they generally recover better and are able to cope with hard racing. Thats just my thoughts on the matter, others may have another view.
  17. I have now switched on my selection for the Stayers Cup. I thought up until now, that Dusty Gambler would be the one to beat. Backed him in the Collar only to be rolled by Ring The Bell. I now think Ring The Bell is the better dog, just ticks all the boxes. Dustys distance range is shorter than Ring The Bells, and I think the Bell just has more bottom to him. When he is right, he has few peers. Just my thoughts.
  18. Quality stayers have always needed a turn of foot, thats what makes them quality. Quality stayers are always better than the best middle distance dogs, because to be a quality stayer you need to be open class dog or at least capable of being such. The difference between the very best middle distance dogs, and the very best stayers is, the stayers maintain their speed longer. If you look back at history, you will see all the best stayers were invariably open class middle distance dogs. So it is no surprise with those sectionals, in fact, it would be surprising if it wasn't so. Both these quality stayers could easily give the amazing chase a serious shake.
  19. Don't worry, its just pokie money financing the failed Lawyers and other bludgers.
  20. I'll bet Dyna Boomer had the cough when nominated, old trick.
  21. Once upon a time coroners reports invariably came back with cause of death, heart attack, it was the biggest killer of Kiwis. But a good portion of these deaths was cancer, but its the heart that gives out first.
  22. Charles, do you have confidence in Massey having the ability to find anything other than the cause of death, which I will go on record and state, heart attack or stroke?. What I want to know, is what caused them. Unless Massey have the ability to do comprehensive toxicology testing that is comparable with up to date labs such as Hong Kong or Sydney, or Western Australia, then I am afraid we will be none the wiser. Whats the bet, Massey come out with, heart attack or stroke, and something like a clot to the brain, or burst heart valve to the aorta.
  23. Yes, and after sitting on the board you can go on to be CEO and collect hundreds of thousands, even failed lawyers.
  24. Hopefully it is not a rush job, and it s done to the highest standard. To this end, a sample should of been sent offshore to a state of the art lab say in Sydney for a toxicology analysis, even if only to peer review the local report.
