  1. David is the nephew of famed Riverina trainer Trevor White. Also cousins with Cam and Ash Hart as well as Chris Judd.
  2. No wonder he was looking for a bit of cover then... smart move to hand up after doing that early. I'll stick the neck out and say if it had been Mystic Max who came looking instead of Love N The Port that the lead still would have been there. Had it been him, then this entire topic wouldn't even be debated.
  3. Don't know many drivers who could punch one through a brick wall... Jog on.
  4. Probably for the best...
  5. Sisters? Olivia is his sister. Gemma is his aunty.
  6. If you take a $5 easy bet F4 it gives you a combination totalling 31% which in this case, makes the maths work. Can't remember exactly, but from memory it's 2x3x4x5 Incidentally, you can take a $1.80 easy bet that gives you the same combinations for 10% which I know a lot of people use when F4 pools are boosted.
  7. Westport bias has become an issue. But bias is an issue at almost every track now. And it's largely because of the way races are being run. A lot quicker middle sections of races and our breeds are getting better at maintaining those speeds for longer. Biggest reason at Westport however this year was the quality of horse. Not enough depth and some very average horse flesh around which saw best horses get onto the speed and win frequently. Accommodation a real issue there this year. So many people still living in temporary lodging await flood repairs, insurance or new builds. But you're on the money, today at Mot a much better punting proposition. Good word around for the John Morrison trained Galleon's Ambassador.
  8. An interesting point Brodie. You could look at it that way for sure. And I completely understand the frustration of individuals who are being restricted. BUT, I will say. A $12,500 bet between 4,500 people equates to just over $2 per share. A $27,500 bet equates to 4,500 people placing $6 a place on a horse. You know what. It sucks that people aren't getting what they want. But the other side of the coin this week was a whole new group of people were introduced to what it's like to cheer one home in harness racing - many of who who invested themselves too for the first time.
  9. Woodham who? This is where you say thanks to Mark Purdon for helping secure a quarter of a million for a group of more than 4,500 people who threw some hard earned into a kitty and hoped to have some fun.
  10. Box Seat will be a little different. For a start, it's not being run or owned by Trackside or the TAB, or HRNZ - Greg has resurrected it on his on with financial support around the country. I'm sure there will be more information released shortly.
  11. Sorry it's taken until Wednesday to reply! Bloody phone, and this website is blocked through work computers. Thanks Chief for handling the nitty gritty! Appreciate it. Was a tough day at the office for a lot! Dougie, I'll be in touch re a bet this week! We'll do it again!!
  12. Thanks for scoring, Chief - appreciate it. Nice day here, overcast but not too cold. Track should play pretty fairly. Good luck everyone!
  13. It's going to get its chance, should be on the back of For Today for the whole trip. Stranger things have happened - especially at Methven. It's a very poor field. For Today should win. Khal Drogo is better than a maiden and my bolter for the week, President Pat is in there as well. The one thing that maybe makes Spitfire appeal for a place is the trip it will get and the fact its harder for horses to pick up speed on the grass, it generally is that one speed. Being on or near to the speed is half the battle on the grass these days, unless you have that real lightning turn of foot on the green top. Sister's Delight later in the day has the real high speed on grass.
  14. Thanks, quite enjoy doing it, gives a huge appreciation for those who do it for a living. Grass was left with a bit of length last week so that it came through it better. Was definitely shorter today to my eye. Id imagine they'll have a bit of length to it still this weekend, with more meetings this season, they have to manage it more than they ever have in the past.
  15. We're back racing at my home track. Worked a couple on the track at lunch time today and it was in good nick, trials on Saturday were really good for it. A little rain forecast tomorrow but shouldn't impact on it too much. Let's find the good form spotters and add a little interest to the day... I'll chuck up a bet next weekend to the person with the highest tally for the day. 3 points for a win, 2 points for a second, 1 point for a third. Highest points scorer for the day, gets the bet. If there's a tie, the person with the most winners, if still a tie then most seconds and then again, if needed, most thirds. One selection per race. Entries close start of Race 1 on Sunday. Purely to see if I can stack up, here are mine nice and early. R1- #6 Test The Boundaries R2- #6 Mark Dunnett R3- #2 For Today R4 - #8 The Black Shadow R5 - #5 DD's Super Stuary R6 - #4 Spicy Girl Becqui R7 - #9 I Am Adaline R8 - #2 Neyvelli Franco R9 - #15 Sister's Delight R10 - #20 Beyond The Horizon R11 - #13 Skippy's Delight R12 - #3 The Kaik
