  1. Patience is a necessity in all forms of the sport. Especially Administration imagine having to deal with NZTR , trainers & having to coach people like @Chief Stipe through the committee process.
  2. Not a particularly encouraging run from DR, but looking forward to hearing the positives from @Chief Stipe .
  3. I wonder why people who know so much like @Chief Stipe deprive racing club committees of their immaculate knowledge and expertise ? Should be first on the list to get on board a racing club committee.
  4. You will never please them, no point trying to appease them. Take them on head on ... send in a battle hardened, heartless , merciless, cold hearted, harsh @Chief Stipe to hollow out their souls!
  5. What a superb days racing there tomorrow, some very good exciting fields and with the Tauranga & Taurenikau undercards could be the best day on the calendar for some time!
  6. The ladies are too fast for me nowadays @Chief Stipe!
  7. Go and spend some time on a committee @Chief Stipe they'll benefit from your insurmountable knowledge of the industry and how it works and you'll get some real world experience around how it actually works!
  8. Yes @Chief Stipe how do you do that when 90% of the clubs don't trust and shouldn't trust NZTR?
  9. It started from the top @Chief Stipe !
  10. Ellerslie will save them @Chief Stipe , the promised land awaits!
  11. Not to mention clubs left in limbo over their place in the industry over race day licenses, training centre's etc. Lack of certainty disrupts investment & that's happened everywhere the incompetents of NZTR have appeared. Worse still this CEO barely appears to understand the sport , let alone be in a position to fix it. I'm a cup half full guy & believe the Grand Tour will save us!
  12. The time to rationalise was also "then" how did that work out? Dumb decisions lead to dumb outcomes. Now as @Special Agent has pointed out the industry wants to use and abuse the very people/venues its being doing its best to dispose of to keep it going. The very trainers and adminstrators who wanted rid of them are now dependent on them, there is no getting rid of venues in this country with after significant ramifications. Even your idols are struggling to find surfaces to prepare horses on @Chief Stipe they were some of the biggest proponents of the rationalisation you speak of .
  13. Good point , maybe we just have to accept racing on wet surfaces here is ineviatable!
  14. Woodville was like other venues was certainly a gone burger or on the menu to go. Worse still this mess continues to erode the little faith the industry has in NZTR who are looking more and more foolish by the day over their inept planning and incompetence. I don't know anyone in the industry apart from @Chief Stipe who has any faith in them any more. A bunch of newbies who will take a lot of time to come to grips with the industry as well, a lot of time the industry doesn't have.
  15. Great point and for sure they will be kicked in the guts by NZTR once/if the tracks they want used come online again.
  16. As they have proven over and over ,we aren't in a position to close a single venue.
  17. Exactly , thats why you spread the load.
  18. Well if I had several weeks notice I might have lost some weight and grown an appetite.
  19. Shame they didn't try to utilize all the tracks they had available to them ,with these ridiculous plans they put in place with little or no knowledge of how any of it would work!
  20. Pretty obvious they know better with the expertise they have at their call!
  21. I'll have to trust you on that one , I never missed the bus they drove it straight past me!
  22. That'll all go smoothly , then when it doesn't they can do an Awapuni / Ellerslie and tell everyone there is a bedding in time , meanwhile get the abused clubs to pick up the slack.
  23. She hasn't far to go back to her box , I pity those poor buggers who came from further afield.
  24. How lucky are we to have this strategy backing us up, one could be worried after another abandonment today , but nothing to worry about once they put this in play. Great to see they've hired someone whose going to work from Aus who currently works at Moonee Valley RC to help steer the ship in the right direction, NZTR think of everything, we are so lucky to have them it's always great how we get great fresh rehashed perspective from them every 3-4 years as well. Whatever happens we will always have the Grand Tour!
  25. I'm not great at counting @Chief Stipe but I did manage to count the number of completed races at Te Rapa today.
