  1. Which it probably should have been all along, the jumps trainers probably should have got behind centralising the racing at a venue solely for winter or jumps racing , but that was never going to happen self interest takes centre place in all aspects of NZ racing.
  2. They do what they can copy or outsource simple as that(Animal welfare, stable audits,CPD,Venue Plans, thoroughbred rehoming etc) what they can copy can either be fabricated from a measurement perspective or simply glossed over with corporate BS ... simple as that really, what can be outsourced is never their responsibility or something they are accountable for. They will never attack anything of significance as they simply don't have the expertise to do so. (see the IT project as an example)
  3. Surely the dogs go then quickly the jumps. A sad part of the industry to lose but they've let it get into the state its in .
  4. You certainly can't take the above organisation seriously, pretenders from top to bottom.
  5. Like I say the fools reckon they can get rid of tracks.
  6. Yeah but the NP race with 4 starters had the CEO horse in the race so it had to be run.
  7. Yeah heaps of control telling your trainer to aim your Preferment colt for the KM 2yo race.
  8. Unfortunately that is the plan, to choke the smaller trainer out of the industry , of course the other thing that does is close down local race tracks by stealth with little or no resistance so they can sell up.
  9. is that at the annual Ellerslie meeting ?
  10. Nothing more than an attempt to control .
  11. Cannot afford to get rid of a single track , the clowns haven't learnt already. More corporate BS from the circus.
  12. TBF it's not just them that don't understand that.
  13. That may well be the case , but several precedents have been set in the past whereby the horses were out for a period of time also. This looks more & more like a Clayton's penalty with the transfer straight away to the brother.
  14. Haha , you said there was none.
  15. I must have been on my annual holiday to the Sunshine Coast when Conquistador when up for grabs on Gavel, oh wait a minute it was exported to Aus & never raced that must be why, horse probably went on holiday. Who can ever forget (especially the fan boys) No Limits going up for sale on Gavelhouse, well I don't remember it but look forward to you telling me how it went on the online auction?
  16. There are countless, if that stable will let them go.
  17. I think after 2nd year of the "Grand Tour" and we will be back on track!
  18. We all know this trainer has been well protected by the establishment , that's open and easy for all to see. But isn't there a stand down period for the horses a trainer trains after a DQ, this trainers horses look like they have been directly transferred into a family members name? Does this family member train at the same property as trainer?
  19. Some great points, but racing in this country just shoots itself in the foot over and over again. As for the staff well they would not have even considered it, you'd think the Aus night racing situation would have the consider it, but there is no consultation outside of the preferred few , no analysis , no initiative , too busy writing apologies over abandonments.
  20. Nepotism exists in a very large way in the NZ industry, facts & figures mean nothing . One of the reasons we are heading towards oblivion !
  21. I don't agree, the assessment by those in the know around tracks was a warning that the number of tracks proposed for being used or the tracks being used wouldn't cope with the demands put on them & they were right. Also the assessment of tracks left for racing was done by location & nepotism nothing more nothing less. I don't buy into all this garbage around crowds on course in NZ , racing is primarily a TV product outside of a few race days in this country, therefore the most important thing is that we can hold race meetings for punters to wager on. One question no one could answer when these tracks were being intentionally mothballed was what do these so called excessive unneeded tracks cost the industry? Where are the proposed cost savings? Most of these venues are happily run by volunteers for their local community. Of course the irony of most of these tracks is they are being used by trainers to prepare their horses for race day , remembering these tracks were unneeded because we had too many. Mark my words if the current fools running the industry continue down the same path, the NZ industry will be in a terminal state in the next few years.
  22. Worst thing is the circus has been given control over all the other tracks in the country.
