  1. Surely if two commentators have gone down (surmising here obviously) the industry has been notified of the close contact situation and appropriate measures put in place? I'm picking this would have a fairly significant impact from an exposure perspective? I mean the industry is taking the Covid situation very seriously , mandating it, exposing persons who have broken the rules, doing regular testing etc. Surely if any one of these individuals has the virus an industry wide annoucement should therefore be made? We certainly wouldn't want our double vaxxed industry participants safety comprimised?
  2. Will the new head of NZTR first decision be to close down his home town track ? Surely something has to happen?
  3. I believe that was recently abandoned and I think the Stratford course is no longer in use. It's time the industry started to call out these serial offenders.
  4. Is that 3 of the last 4 meetings at New Plymouth now abandoned? Beyond a joke, time for decisive action and decisions to be taken around this venue. What cost to poor owners going back there after the last meetings farce?
  5. NZ racing acts like it doesn't want crowds there at any rate , so couldn't see them bothering with something to get crowds on course.
  6. Serious quality alright, only 1 horse in the field is not a millionaire . I like Gytrash for a bit of value assuming the price on Nature Strip is going to be very short.
  7. Fantastic must have been the votes from this site got him over the line. I see Rhino also in at Flemington on Saturday.
  8. I wonder if that will please the proprietor on the other channel, he seems to have his knives out for this one for some reason.
  9. Agree this is a genuiely very exciting race , in fact I'd go so far as to say its a must watch. I see a little bit of rain forecast for Saturday also.
  10. No idea, but it'll be a lot stronger when these new licensing rules take place ... maybe have 5 starters :> ?
  11. You just think it can't get any worse, but this is probably the poorest field this season. Cannot retain its status as a G2 surely?
  12. One won an Aus G1 and the other a Derby not bad for a sire of his magnitude. Which are these better performed bread and butter sires you speak of? As I've pointed out plenty of so called better sires, with far greater opportunity perform a lot worse than RDC has at stud.
  13. A dual G1 producing sire off a $5k stud fee, I don't think anyone can have grounds for complaint when he is only being presented in the bread and butter basket, you don't have to be a genius to understand the types of mares he is attracting at that fee. Compared to the likes of Wandjina, Dissident & American Pharoah in Aus and he has performed more than favourably.
  14. There is a pool of racing administrators that do a bit of a merry go round, can't be long till we see him appear at another NZ club in the future.
  15. I reckon the winner might be smarter than given credit for the way she took that gap, easier run or not. Trainer looked like he knew also.
  16. Ken Rutherford went to Hawkesbury. They have the smallest owners room in the world. It's close to Mcdonalds.
  17. Placed in Mdn company 1st up last campaign would give anyone the confidence to back a horse in a G2 !
  18. Na , its the TAB comments CS Light Fingers Fangirl - Placed in Mdn company first up last campaign ( Last start won the $500k Carbine Club at Flemington ) Zouzarella - First up should find this a bit easier. (not sure how the Light Fingers can ever be considered easy)
  19. It shouldn't be so hard to do should it, but it is.
  20. I'm on...go The Elephant!!!
  21. That's got to be one of their best bits of work to date.
  22. Well and truly took the NZTR red pill years ago. He'll also be championing the new one as he is in the club courtesy of his brother.
  23. This has so many parrallels with other aspects of the sport in NZ in that those who think they are saving a few dollars by having a Computer generate them or an absolute clueless person who writes them, not sure which but don't realise the impact it has on generating wagering interest or confidence and thus is detrimental to the industry. Another prime example is the radio, defies belief that one, you'll never convince me otherwise.
