  1. Haven't you read the document youv'e already got a considerable enough advantage especially financially, I'm still trying to work out where ... get back to you on that one.
  2. They all love the country racing , really no matter where it is. But try communicating that to the personnel that we have making decisions in the industry. I'm a firm believer the only way NZ racing will survive and even flourish to a degree is to rebuild its roots at a provincial level, with all the destruction this present lot in charge have caused that could take time and will look a lot different than it should have, it just needs the right leader to instigate it. There is a reason Aus getting most everything right in the sport , may be the reason we got sent a guy whose philisophy couldn't work within the paramaters of their racing model and everyday he is showing its not working here either!
  3. The trouble with most breeders is they don't think their stock is going to end up in K3 , even taking into account the completely bias/rigged sales process. Most of them breed a horse and beleive the hype the stud sells thinking they have a product to compete at K1 or K2 level, when in reality they have anything but. They like a lot of owners/NZTR and many in the industry don't realise the fundamental law of the entire industry "there has to be losers , for there to be winners"!
  4. More than alarming downright scandalous. Imagine summer racing on AWT ... 🤮 🤮 🤮 Mind you this lot are silly enough to do it.
  5. Surely this document opens the eyes of those in the industry to just how foolish , incompetent & inept the personnel producing strategy at NZTR are? If it doesn't you can kiss the sport good bye sooner than anyone realised .
  6. Performing well will lose them a day, thats how NZTR operate. Well if youre not in the big 5 that is.
  7. Yep the mare would get you up if you were dead!
  8. I concur they are an utter waste of time!
  9. Very true, part of me thinks its an indirect way to close & sell off more race tracks, i.e. removing the barrier to put up a fight by getting rid of those who use them.
  10. Yes what is the "Real" Objective of it all ??
  11. Wonder what the Riding Masters think of that?
  12. NZTR probably expect the young trainers to come through partnerships like Wellwood, Mckay and a number of others have or to fall into the TA model. This of course will kill off a lot the interest many people have in racing in this country i.e. following local horses of a smaller trainer etc the more one looks at it the more of a disaster it looks to be.
  13. They don't ask questions , they only listen and by the looks of it only to the elite trainers.
  14. It's quintessential NZTR isn't it, focus on something that may need addressing ahead of tackling the industry real problems.
  15. Like most people I'd like to know what this lower cost model some trainers are supposed to be benefiting from is? Does it mean someone who owns their own land , has their kids ride work for them or owns their own stallion has lower costs ? What exactly is this model?
  16. They wouldn't care, they aren't racing people , thye don't really give a hoot but the industry and they'd just move on to the next show in town.
  17. Not considering the clown ship running the industry.
  18. Perhaps this is a good thing and out of the sheer idiocy of it all a new regime could evolve. Probably not , but what they are proposing only has a limited shelf life at best.
  19. They certainly have, it means an end to stories like Gold Watch , the fools will support it as well the sport is truly done in this country.
  20. What would they know about Elite?
  21. I only back OP if he is on a TA horse or riding one after he finished his TA rides for the day , especially if big Dave is there to meet him in the birdcage.
  22. Have you read the new proposal from those beacons of racing knowledge at NZTR ? If they have their way we'll have about 8 track work riders in the country & 3 jocks.
  23. You think it's bad for them, then just look at what the little guy has to put up with.
  24. 900 on course and a big screen , give me a break!
  25. TBF none of these are really what the Aus market seems to push for I.e. American Breds & a derby winner. It's a shame as the next ones they have seem to be along the right lines to get mares, Aus form & sons of Sebring , IAV & Written Tycoon any of which would be great to see stand in NZ, the sort of sires at good fees to get Breeders back in the frame breeding a racehorse
