  1. Which is quite possibly what is going to happen in NZ , meaning wouldn't they be better to centralise things somewhere this type of thing isn't a threat to the actual survival of the sport?
  2. The biggest problem I have with all of this is that NZTR through their ridiculous Venue Plan have eliminated who knows how many potential venues for racing when things like this happen, its not just the mismagement of the Trentham track that needs a rethink its the entire utilisation of all available assets. Just look at the utterly ridiculous situation we had a few weeks back with a meeting being abandoned before a race was run to a track where the meeting was abnd after half the card was run, the leadership of the industry have no understanding of the mechanics of it , particularly the present geezer in charge who will soon be on his way.
  3. Yet another investigation , nothing is learned from them, therefore nothing is gained ... isn't it about time this lot got themselves investigated?
  4. Never happen, they jocks would quite rightly refuse to ride, not to mention the implications around the meeting called off.
  5. Wow that is incredible and therein lies the problem the incompetence and experience from above just flows down the chain. I've always believed racing biggest problem in NZ over the past 20 years has been it has never got personnel involved at an administrative level that are truly passionate or interested or experienced in the sport or at least in good numbers and at the admistrative level it just sends around the same small pool of administrators who merry go round those jobs, that has led to the downfall of it. Take your example of BS and horses galloping every day how on earth does an industry hire a leader who actually has no idea at all about the sport? Yet we continously do it across the board in NZ over and over again. But nothing will change, nothing will come out of this latest incident either, no voices no cohesion from the trainers or jockeys just on to the next show!
  6. I heard today one senior jock described the track as the worse they have ridden on, now that would be saying something in this country.
  7. I think you'll be right on all accounts. I too used to get angry and upset over it all, but what I've seen in the last 18-12 months has made be realise racing has absolutely no hope of surviing let alone flourishing in NZ whether that be in the North , CD or SI. I give it 3-5 years at best as it continues the self mutulation model at every opportunity! THe whole thing will be like the European elitist model before too long at any rate , not good for its future in NZ.
  8. Yes I believe after a few races it was deemed unsafe.
  9. One of the issues is the geniuses have closed down most of the back up tracks or are in the process of doing so or alternative venues. That venue plan has worked wonders for NZracing! Too much self interest in NZ racing and its got us to this point, more and more of it to come as well. Youre right no one notices anymore when there is an abandonment, mind you does anyone notice when the races are actually on in NZ either?
  10. Love Summer Racing .... The Passion , the beauty, the glory and the abandonments !!!
  11. It's gotten so bad now that no one really blinks an eye anymore when a meeting in NZ is abandoned, 2 this week going well.
  12. BS got it sorted don't worry, well his ticket home that is!
  13. Incredible we are now in a world where we actually have to worry about this things , through no fault of our own.
  14. You won't have to do much to work towards that, they are doing and have been doing a fine job themselves!

    W Pinn

Haven't followed this what did Pinn do wrong?
  16. This explains what appears imminent , I just can't see why people are so naive to all of this?
  17. I couldn't find it either.
  18. Very true , but they all offer great value for their functions ....
  19. Very true , but you know by now everything is done for 4 or 5 stables from the Waikato
  20. I guess they all copy each other , she looks a good fit for that role you'd have to say.
  21. Which video is that? Or what was the gist of it?
  22. They aren't afraid of anything, its yet again just another copy paste exercise as I've said before they specialise in so it looks as though they are contributing something. I do think both organisations have underestimated their customer base on this issue and there could be a bumpy road ahead, fascinating to sit back and observe.
  23. Bought to you by the same copy paste delinquents who haven't been able to fix anything or bring anything innovative or useful into the sport in all their time at the helm , so we shouldn't be expecting much. I'd love to say things will get worse before getting better but they look like they are going from worse to worser! Still love to see the betting figures on these surfaces, hopefully they'll bring them out soon to show me I'm totally wrong about them.
  24. NZTR update NZTR Covid Update NZTR 24 November 2021 As the government announced earlier this week, vaccine passes will become part of our lives from Friday, 3 December. This is when the COVID Protection Framework, more commonly referred to as the Traffic Light System, will come into play. Our first race meeting to be run under this System will be the Canterbury JC’s twilight meeting on Friday, 3 December. Just how many people will be able to attend will not be clear until the government indicates which “colour” the Canterbury region will enter the system. While 1.1 million of us obtained the My Covid Pass online in the first week of its availability, it is worth noting that the process can be different and take a little more time for foreign nationals. As we are all aware the New Zealand racing industry is made up of a hugely diverse range of nationalities, and those without a NZ passport, birth certificate or driver’s licence, will need to call 0800 222 478 to request a pass. It is recommended that employers with foreign-born staff who are expected to attend race meetings ensure they are aware of the steps they need to ensure they have their My Covid Pass and do not leave this until the last minute. The law change required to introduce the Traffic Light System and the use of vaccination passes will be passed under urgency this week. NZTR expects to issue a further update once the government releases more detail and once we have worked through this with our clubs.
