  1. Agree can't see racing happening for a week or so yet, any update from NZTR on what they are doing to try to get it going? Surely they are working on a plan to convince government like they have done in Aus. and not just waiting on the PMs bizarre announcements? Its looking very amateurish to say the least and why are the industry putting up with it?
  2. Might be 1 million races if we get to race in the last two months of the season which is looking likely the way NZTR have handled all this!
  3. Fairy Flash defence of CG already well underway, ironically defending someone from an article on a website called "The Optimist! "
  4. Absolutely , they'll go for what is the flavour of the season highly likely to be any of the first 6 I've mentioned - that's called a No Brainer!
  5. I heard its gonna wow you ; 0 What does the Single National System mean for Industry Participants? Currently external participants use NZTR’s Racing Management System, which is made up of Members' and Trainers' online service centre portals. These are accessed through NZTR’s website LOVERACING.NZ. Trainers and Breeders utilise these online service centres to manage their activity (nominations, withdrawals, gear requests, naming a horse, stable returns etc).  Internally, NZTR uses the Racing Management System for all areas of our business, including our finance system. All participants who use NZTR’s online service centres (i.e., Members' or Trainers' Service Centre) will need to migrate to the equivalent within the Single National System.  This will be conducted via education, training, and ongoing support for all participants by NZTR. NZTR’s National Racing Bureau team will still be available by phone, however, as part of our change to the Single National System we will be working with participants, educating them about how to use and migrate to our online services.
  6. No that'd be called "Spin"!
  7. Gonna be a no brainer who she goes to isn't . I am Invincible, Snitzel, Zoustar ,Written Tycoon or maybe The Autumn Sun or Ole Kirk. If she was mine I'd got to Castelvechicco ,Street Boss or Hellbent because they are at this stage affordable by Australian standards
  8. Still waiting for the mind blowing features of the product to be released aren't we?
  9. He won't go , he is like most of the others they don't go because they really don't care! You'd have to say COVID must have saved his butt at the Warriors or surely he'd be gone.
  10. Surely the other key aspect of the article is the industry doesn't need nor can it afford a COO and a CEO , surely one role has to go the way this industry is headed. How on earth can it be justified?
  11. Should have been a plan in place well and truly before this lockdown occurred. A prolonged lockdown and this industry is gonna be in an even bigger mess than what it was heading for. I cannot believe some of the bigger stables under demanding more immediate clarity from NZTR or are they all just giving up and sending horses to Aus ?
  12. Send them BS back , he will sort it out Donald,Sale,Cranbourne,Mornington,Geelong all race at Flemington instead of wasting valuable industry resources on tracks no one goes to or even wants to race horses at.
  13. Wont watch a single race as I'm hanging out for my Cambridge AWT fix ,gotta be here soon!
  14. Levin, Marton & Fielding the only ones I can think. What is HB now Wairoa, Gisborne, Waipuk. As you say no identify, no character , nothing special just another race day now. I guess we can look forward to them all being run at Awapuni AWT soon at any rate.
  15. Yep those 3 days racing in a week , thankfully they have remedied that stupidity, lucky to have leadership thinking like that arent we.
  16. I'm told Fielding has been an unbridled success?
  17. These type of ideas are all well and good until you try to get the support of the governing body or other clubs and this is where the industry has really gone backwards - blatant favouritism for certain clubs , favouritism that has had absolutely nothing to do with exceptional performance or average performance for that matter. This is where most of the country venues have been completely screwed over, take your example for the Wairoa/Gisborne meetings , they cost the industry very little and yet add character , grow interest in the sport and relative to their costs to the industry perform quite well. So what we are sold in NZ is the baloney that the same outcomes will happen at a different venue - which as you've rightly pointed out never happens just another meeting at another city track that next to no one is interested in. That approach is now being replicated across the country and put on steroids' in the case of the AWT venues, which are fast becoming characterless, monotonous duplicated bore fests as each new meeting goes by ! (of course that is only my opinion ). That is our solution for fixing the industry - we are screwed!
  18. You're far too forgiving and I Can't agree, its their job to make every endeavour possible to see racing able to continue , that simply hasn't happened. We may be talking about weeks of a lockdown , where is the plan? It's getting made up as we go along.
  19. This is a prime example of the ineptitude and incompetence prevalent within the industry. How long have they had to sort out a plan for racing to continue (like in Aus. should be able to do it ,they copy off everything else from there) whilst Level 4 existed ? They have absolutely no idea, I cannot believe the industry accepts this from its leadership. COVID never went away but they didn't bother in the slightest and putting something together that was inevitable. 20. Won't happen, current leadership have made that much damage to the industry already it can only go one way for the majority of participants, as I've already stated this deluded bunch have no idea of the interdependence within the racing industry.
  21. Absolutely and with the hours and work involved its not an attractive proposition for many let alone the next generation. I'm actually surprised at how quickly its demise seems to be taking shape, I thought it had a little more depth to it than what we are seeing at present. Wasn't the M Report & the venue plan etc supposed to resuscitate the industry and not put it in ICU? Absolute incompetents have been let loose in this industry over the years and unfortunately many of them still pervade it. But look on the bright side we've got 2 perhaps 3 AWTs which are serious gamebreakers for the industry or so I'm being told.
  22. Yes, just look to NZracing for many many examples of this.
  23. Agree,, not surprised how many have fallen for it though , there is little hope if you're depending on the majority of the population to wake up - it just wont happen.
  24. Exactly, rest assured we have a plan ... perhaps...maybe...I'm sure we do!
  25. Does NZracing have a plan? Could be a real kicker for local racing.
