  1. Good on you "Fairy Flash" for predicting the obvious! Like I have said a gazillion times before , if distributions can't improve based on the cuts this lot have made to the industry then nothing ever will, cuts however have a way of concealing the future in any industry, racing will be no different - so hold onto your fairy bread and enjoy the ride. Miserable??? ....hardly I'm rubbing my hands together in glee its not long now till my slow slugs can run around for $12k midweek!!!
  2. Dont worry their solution will be to get rid of all racing in the area in the future. BS is clueless to its value & believes itll all get replicated somewhere else.

  4. yes either way it will probably be wasted.
  5. I differ somewhat in that I believe the problem is those who employ them into these roles are the real problem. You only have to read De Lore article to understand what an absolute farce the entire process has been, not to mention no one knows why we need this role in the first place, same way this organisation does everything no analysis,no reporting , no consultation just something they believe is the right decision and worst of all no outcry. If this industry actually made decisions based on facts , unbiased consultation and without favour it would be in far better shape than it is now. You are very right about Mckenzie though I am one who thought his involvement would change things for the better, but they fooled me again!
  6. Well he is certainly odds on now with the latest appointment.
  7. I've put my thoughts in other thread, certainly not what racing radio used to be but I've enjoyed it to date & have it on all day.
  8. Shudder to think!
  9. Morning show this morning with Guerin and one of the BGP boys & guests, I thought was ok & the NZ races were broadcast today also as well as the Warriors game , been out all day so that's what I caught. Certainly isn't what it used to be if you know what I mean , but its a good start and I'll continue listening.
  10. I enjoyed the station this week, only suggestion I'd have is that they need a professional DJ on in the mornings to assist the ex sports persons just to help the flow/delivery etc, but apart from that its at least one positive the return of the radio!
  11. It's called "Momentum" coming to a provincial racecourse in spades in the not too distant future!!!
  12. NZTR unehtical ... no,no,no ...way......! http://www.theoptimist.site/ This article sums up succinctly why the sport has no future in NZ!
  13. One would expect the initiatives being rolled out that are aligned with the reports would require someone on a project basis, however if the current leadership is incapable of delivering on them (which has been very apparent for some time) perhaps this person is being bought in as a replacement, but all the same its very difficult to see why an organisation like this requires two very senior likely very expensive leaders. Of course much of the new leaders apparent skill set comes from his already established relationships within the industry which has already been pointed out. I'm of the opinion the current leadership and board should have been capable of delivering on the asset grab side of things.
  14. Connect the dots for role specific Qualifications.
  15. It certainly does & on that note how on earth does an organisation like NZTR justify a COO & CEO from a cost perspective?
  16. You cant make it up , everyone must be loving the momentum in the industry as well!

Not much to get enthused about locally but Good win by The Good Fight and the Shocking horse at Flemington today I thought.

Looks all over a Country Cups horse in 12 months time to me. A few of these Reliable Mans don't appear to kick on.
  19. Are we 5 or 6 meetings down now on the AWT? Anyone seen any figures? there must be some patterns emerging by now and these obviously positive betting patterns would be great to see with regards to convincing everyone about the need for a couple of more AWT surely? Be very interested also to see how these betting figures compare to those on the winter surfaces.
  20. I see Frequencies , hopefully its independent enough to have a point of view on things locally, though that doesn't look likely with BS showing his support for it.
  21. Yep crazy, everyone will want their horse getting this treatment soon , cause didnt that horse go on to win??
  22. I have the feeling once/if the Dargaville scenario has been completed we will see a huge go by the governing body for several assets within the industry. It certainly has to be part of the plan given the direct internal policies clearly put in place to destroy these assets. It's always amused me how leadership within the industry here are congratulated for shrinking the industry when they should be growing it. Once again I'd love to see a Strathyr but saying it and doing it are two different things in this industry.
  23. Racehorse Trainers ???
  24. I can't see how, you?
