  1. The M Report, the Racing Act - "The Status Quo is not an Option" - did anyone realise they were intending on making it worse?
  2. Exactly , its a complete and utter clown show. What happens to these iconic races now , do they get run at Wairap on Monday? NZTR will see it as a savings for themselves -what a shambles the sport is!
  3. People employed within the industry on big money to make the industry worse much worse than what it was, could have achieved that without any body needed to be employed for that.
  4. It's so bad now would anyone notice if we just stopped racing all together - the industry is a Joke !
  5. It's all started heading downhill at an accelerating rate when these governing bodies start hammering away at the provincials and the base of the industry, it'll won't last let alone return to anything like it has been unless someone can come in grab the industry by the neck and virtually change the approach to the opposite of what it is now!
  6. I'd target the Oaks then hop it to Sydney if she were mine, she is good enough to win there and she could win the derby if she so chooses.
  7. Unusual ride indeed given how the track was playing, perhaps they wanted to see her settle better its a hardwork to work out. From what I saw if La Crique stays (likely on pedigree) I can't see a 3yo in the country challenging her.
  8. Yes the Single System of Destruction is managing the Single System of Truth.
  9. But VE went over and took out Aussie citizenship, Elephant was OK and is about to do the same which should hopefully see him Trunk his opposition.
  10. They don't care...
  11. I believe the time is also a World Record for 2400m !
  12. Yes I get a giggle out of this sort of stuff , they really are hopeless. I wonder if they post it as an alternative to the real reasons trainers like this are leaving. One has to ask the question why aren't the Pikes, Marsh, TA of this world heading across the ditch? It must be too easy for them here right?
  13. Haha yeah ... apt as you can get, hard to believe with nzracing being what it is they will probably find someone worse to replace him .
  14. Wow...Yawn, more of the same from a sport riddled with incompetence!
  15. Youv'e noticed?
  16. I was waiting for that, the point being its heading towards picnic races and many are not being catered for within the game. I know it would never fly with the governing authority as in all likelihood it would be more popular than many feature days. But isn't it at least something that could enhance or re-establish interest in the sport, not to mention the welfare benefits for many horses.
  17. Surely it would be easier to control crowds at existing venues that aren't being used? It seems a better option for creating and retaining interest than what is setup at present.
  18. That's par for the course now , they (trackside) don't really dwell on anything negative on trackside , only the racing is fun and will in time bring the to the world everlasting world peace!
  19. Ex Kiwi trainer Don Dwyer excelling in Aus at the Picnics. Why can't a Summer Picnic circuit exist here? Might give some of the Highweight riders some income in their off season and rid the establishment of the unwashed they are currently doing their best to get rid of, I'm picking it will prove more popular than most existing racing which wouldn't go down well with the establishment and may be a reason why. https://www.racing.com/videos?fbclid=IwAR3euII1r9UCM8TLCEvI1pLGWrGR6sHIPdZZ3QN-XFeUTMVdrV4iwzyhN5E#/
  20. So true, but I think NZ racing was in a bit better shape back when Bridgman was about. Agree though Richards has done a fantastic job no denying that.
  21. Part of me wonders if he wants to go to give himself a challenge, I think he is well aware of the lay of the land in NZ, HK will pose a challenge for him and he is more than capable of stepping up to that challenge imo. But like most things in racing it will take time to build , but looking at his worth ethic and temperament he looks odds on to do it.
  22. Too a degree, the difference being there isn't just one of them doing it there is about 10-15 stables if not more and none of them really have a mortgage on the Jockeys or in our case "the" Jockey.
  23. Exactly, if he was that good the ones he buys in Aus would be lighting up the world over there, more competitive level playing field over there however , they are just another stable not a behemoth amongst minnows. I thought most people in the industry realised TA success is largely based on buying high quality yearlings in volume, something no other stable in NZ seems to be able to achieve.
  24. In all honesty I'd have tipped the Stoney One so you saved your $$$
  25. You two way ahead of me I'm still backing nice names and lucky numbers!
