Chief. Stand in front of a mirror and give the guy looking at you a rogering. Jennifer Eccles is trained by S Ritchie....at Cambridge.

Just read about Te Teko getting the 'don't come Monday'....the Committee are now deciding to wind the club up, according to NZTR not required for races OR trials. Wait until the end of this winter, Cambridge won't be ready, NZTR will go to Te Teko and plead..' just one more set of trials boys?'..they should tell them to get fcked. Which they probably already have.

Is RITA actually a legal entity? Well not as we know it.
Kopia replied to Chief Stipe's topic in Galloping Chat
Interesting. If it is a 'body corporate' can it have 'Board' Members? Or Directors? I'd say not, and it is no accident by design. Directors and Board members can be held accountable in certain circumstances. . Peters would have structured it so some of his favourite people-like P Vela, and the original ' snout in the trough' Kristal McDoanld could't be acted against if found to be negligent. Sorry, should read 'when' found negligent, or useless. -
I hope the horses I have shares in are as quick when they get asked the question.....thanks Freda.

Freda, would you be able to tell us how many horses are in training at Riccarton? Approximately will do. And do you know how many actual trainers are based there? What I'm getting to is this-if/when a 'synthetic' track is built there, how many horses will use it. Cambridge they're saying 1000 a month at present. And finally, do you think in your environment that there are trainers or younger people who may take up training at Riccarton or move there be cause of a synthetic track being contructed there? Thanks

Tommo you seem hangry. Try having a lie down before you post? Something to eat maybe? The polls you refer to are about as reliable as ardern saying ' we are not going to raise taxes'....wait until the thousands and thousands who are presently getting a wage subsidy have to line up for unemployment when their subsidy runs out and there aint any job to go back to. 9.8% unemployed? Don't think so.

Take a bow Freda!! Black Caviar, what a mare. And the stipes here in Oz crucified him. If you haven't read his book yet you should get hold of it, its great reading. And some very illuminating disclosures about certain people. The head post could have been any number of trainers-big and small-who have been targeted and hounded by small minded raceday integrity stewards....here in Aussie or especially back in NZ by the look of some of the goings on over the past few years.

The person was a champion bloke. He was extremely good and did not bullshit or pretend to be something he was not. So Ludwig, you get 10/10 for ruling out the marxist melon.? Try again.

'Previously, the mindsets on both sides of the fence had been that we're all humans, all here for the good of the game, and you could all knock off at days end and have a beer and a yarn. But when this new regime came in you could sense their mentality was ; us against them'. There was a frostiness that came in, which I felt was sad for the industry. You didn't want to be walking around on eggshells. It seemed trainers were being pinged for little things and more. Things like getting fined $50 or $100 for declaring a rider late. Trainers don't do that on purpose. If it becomes a habit, punish them, but mostly it should be ' you've done the wrong thing, pull your head in' and get on with life. But everything became dotting your 'i's' and crossing your 't's'. there was no room for the human element. You couldn't make a mistake. The assumption now as trainers dodn't ' make mistakes'. They were cheating'.

I used to enjoy going to the odd harness meeting at grass tracks. Seemed to get bigger fields, better divvies cos nobody knew what was likely to happen... So it looks like there won't be any grass meetings anymore? Is that right? Only Auckland and Cambridge?

Is Godber of the RIU deaf and dumb as well as stupid?
Kopia replied to Kopia's topic in Galloping Chat
Clarkie...!! Jeeze mate, I read your reply to my post, then I had to go and check some horses, came back and your post is gone? Well to be fair I thought a couple of nicks had got past the keeper to the boundary..? But your'e pretty spot on with those people. but maybe a bit close to the bone. Seems the old ' lets play hide the sausage' is still rife over there. What pisses me off with this riu outfit is they seem to play favourites? there's one 'senior' jock who clearly gets favours, from the riu and from a certain ex-j.c.a. member. Even other jocks will know who I'm talking about. The game over here in nsw and viccy is just too big for that shit. When I was still training a few in nz I couldnt believe some of the slackness. Seems like who you are dictates how you get treated. -
Just read what midget said on another site...RIU have hired JCA flop A Doully as a stipe? This is the guy who made the worst decison in NZ racing a few years ago over a protest at Matamata in their Breeders stakes...then earlier this year was bullied by the Winker into not being allowed to question a jockey at an Ellerslie protest...doesn't Godber read the news. Does he not know that TAB and Trackside have made wholesale cuts to employee rosters....and in NZ-no race broadcasts, no newspapers,no on course betting,no form analysts,no Raceform..racecallers getting sacked..the list goes on. Who calls the shots in your RIU over there? Does the sentence 'we have no money, we are fucked' not resonate with these people?

No. I made that decision last year when I moved to Sydney. I said it here too. The writing was on the wall years ago. Now I'm hearing stakes in NZ for next season are worse than you thought....lucky to see $100k for a G1!! Thats whats on the table. Think about it-NZ black type racing is already questionable in Oz...whats it going to look like soon?

Winston's Peters Speech 12 May 2020 - Your view?
Kopia replied to Chief Stipe's topic in Galloping Chat
And there will be strings attached. The 'bloodletting' at TAB will also hit NZTR/RIU. With a lot less racemeetings, less tracks involved, what will the mighty RIU do for 7 days a week? What do stewards do now when there's no racing? In NSW and Victoria there's racing/trials every day. Not in NZ. So we should be expecting to hear anytime now that a number of RIU in particular will be getting the DCM. OR be put on a contract, i.e. get paid for the days you work, not for sitting on your ass at home. Godber is the first in line imo. -
Chiefy I was being the 'Devils Advocate' to an extent. However I do believe that the days of the stand alone TAB in nz are almost gone. You need something else to get people into premises where they can also bet on horses, i.e. sports clubs, yes. Cant tell me that the betting on the Melbourne Cup each year is done in TAB's in NZ. I recall going into a TAB last time I was back in nz, it was what I imagined being in a retirement home looks like. And I'm no chicken, I recall the dim dark days of the TAB when they used to write tickets on yellow paper! Younger people don't really give a shit about racing-you know that its true-a few with connections maybe, but in the main its league, rugby, cricket, football, whatever they they bet on. And maybe racing...but it aint the main punt and the figures are proving it. So I still reckon that TAB's are going to be a thing of the past very soon in nz. Clearly you'll still be able to waltz up and have a bet but it won't be in a TAB.
-
Chief, in NZ who 'owns' TAB shops? Is it the TAB and do people just work there? Because I think what will happen-soon-is that there won't be any 'TAB's'...either you go to the races and bet or you bet online. And that makes sense really, this virus has at least shown that most of us can do just about anything online. Whens the last time anyone actually wrote a cheque? The future for a lot of businesses is looking very different, and it may not be a bad thing. Except if your'e the one to get the shove.
-
Watch what happens next Chief....McKenzie will be desperately trying to find some 'light at the end of the tunnel' before releasing the bad news..maybe some heads to roll in NZTR/RIU ? Both inhabited by overinflated bullyboy buffoons like the ex cop allegedly heading the riu investigation department. Marches around in a black overcoat like some sort of nazi but is a laughing stock even among his own troops.

Common Sense? NZTR Announce Initial Stakes Money
Kopia replied to Chief Stipe's topic in Galloping Chat
Actually, since the lefties think its appropriate to squander hundreds of millions of dollars on 'homeless' motels, food, taxis, skytv etc etc without any expectation of these people working/finding accommodation/helping themselves in any way..then yes maybe racin should get some of their moolah! -
Common Sense? NZTR Announce Initial Stakes Money

I'm living in Sydney at present mate. Racing here has been great for the past few months. Positive people, determined to make it succeed. Racing in nz was stuffed way before the simpering left steered the country into oblivion. However, the old saying 'where there is a will there is a way' comes to mind. Just feckin do it. -
Common Sense? NZTR Announce Initial Stakes Money
Kopia replied to Chief Stipe's topic in Galloping Chat
Here is my plan for the 20-21 season. Racing in NZ NEEDS an objective. I'm not talking about NZRacing, I'm talking about the owners and trainers. We don't hear from jockeys so I'm leaving them out of the equation. So looking ahead to Spring, to give owners something positive to look forward to, the Spring Carnival at Hastings has to go ahead, at Hastings. Money has to be found to make it worthwhile for owners to keep horses in NZ, at least for the Spring. I think the weather in NZ is going to be shit and there is going to be a long winter with all the usual track issues-at least Hastings seems to be a step ahead with weather in the Spring. Make the carnival a boomer. Put up decent money. Show the industry that racing IS alive in NZ and lets, for a while, leave the negativity out of it. Not talking about $1m races but there needs to be decent money for Group 1 racing-$500,000 at least. I just bet RITA/NZTR could find the money if it was staff related!! Supporting races need to be worth making the trip also. Can't be too hard to figure it out. AND the Guineas races MUST be held in Christchurch, otherwise South Island racing is consigned to picnic racing. Forever.AND that carnival also needs to have decent stakes. Betcha Ellerslie/Te Rapa could 'find' the money if those 2 carnivals were transferred there! Lets hope it aint so. If owners don't see stakes for G1 racing being worthwhile, horses will be across the ditch as quick as. Followed by trainers and any decent track riders and jocks. -
You have to wonder when reality will hit home with ardern and her cronies. $56m for Maori 'they have special needs' " Another $100m for homeless to live in motels, supplied with food, Skytv, etc etc'...racing is way down on the list, probably, as you say not on the list. Not enough votes for mother theresa.

Awww shucks Tommo, thats so nice...gizza hug?
-
Greg my main reason for starting this thread was to see how many Peters apologists it drew out of the closet. You seem to be one...did you vote for him? By the way, its now not far off 3 years since he propped up ardern and her bunch of losers as a govt..what exactly has he achieved for racing? A great training surface and galloping track for the Cambridge trainers, because thats all it is really going to be..and feck all else. All noise and wind.
-
Don't forget it was Peters who appointed the RITA Board members. If it was a jumps race they all fell at the first. The thing about people who get appointed to Boards is that its not their 'job'. Life goes on, they keep the $$$ whether they succeed or fail. Check out that woman MacDonald on the RITA board. She is also on the ACC Board, a Billion dollar outfit. She was also the chair of the jca for a number of years, $200,000 p.a. for 1 day a week. There's the problem-these people have no idea about struggling because for them, the gravy train just keeps on chuggin'.
-
Funding you say? It sounds like the industry are asking for a 'loan' from the govt...why would you loan money to an industry that has wasted hundreds of millions in the past few years..? Oh yes, this is the govt that just gave ANOTHER HUNDRED MILLION DOLLARS to motel owners in NZ to house the ' homeless'...read it and weap. Another $100 million. On top of the millions and millions already handed over. Just who are these 'homeless'..how do you qualify cos I think I'd like to be in on this absolute rort.
