I have no intention of defending Nationals lack of interest in the racing portfolio..and here's the rub=now is the best time ever to get rid of the position of Racing Minister. National at least said to the industry 'you get your own house in order.' 'The Industry' does not need a politician in charge. Clearly some legislative over-see is required for financial governance. But the running of the industry should NOW be in the hands of the industry. With such uncertainty in the political field, and deals being done ( such as NZ First propping up a socialist party and a bunch of loons as coalition partner) racing will be at the mercy of politcians to an extent it has never been before. So my answer is RITA should have thought outside the square and told Peters ' you appointed us to come up with solutions-here's the 1st one on the list, get politics out of racing' But Peters, being such an old egotistcal hypocrite wouldn't wear that, would he?

Youv'e captured in one sentence why the racing industry is in chaos. This is 2020. Forget the past. People like you should stay away from public forums if this is the best you can do.

Really? How many of you have read what is being put before this bunch of losers that call themselves a Government? Have you understood how much power the 'Minister' will have if it goes ahead in its present form...not just the Minister, but the Department of Internal affairs..a Government Department.? Heres a question to choke over when your'e trying to eat your muesili in the morning. IF this Loser coalition get back in later this year...without NZ First-which is a distinct possibilty-then Labour and the Greens will be the Government. Who do you think will be Racing Minister then? And what do you think they will do to racing? I'd be very worried if I was anybody apart from Tommo..and even he must see where this could head.

Someone should have told the connections of Germanicus all of this...jeeze what a performance! Comes from near last on the turn, gets up to win, over a second faster than Travelling Light in the Group 1... -
Heres a serious question for RITA and peters.....please tell us how much it costs the NZ Racing Industry when a club like Kurow, or any of the others under the hammer, race? In dollar terms. Given that these clubs own their own properties, have unpaid Committees who do all of the work, and if they have to fund any work it comes out of THEIR income. So lets hear it. You guys want to close them down. Why. How much would NZTR actually save? As opposed to making money off these clubs when they have great days as Kurow is apparently having. I bet nobody in authority will answer. Because the answer is it does not cost NZTR a bloody cent. The riu and jca would be working anyway as would the starting teams and other officials. Any cost for these people would surely come out of the profit NZTR make from a raceday which they don't pay for. Stakemoney likewise, actually that would be a cost whoever raced today.

Jeeze lets hope there are some decent horses on the way! Our rugby team is lucky to be ranked 3rd after the World Cup...the Black Caps are getting roasted in Aussie, anybody have a horse they've spotted on the rise??

His post circa 27 December is very illuminating. Does not matter if you rate this guy or not, you have to read this. Forget for a moment the tired old hacks on the R.I.U, or the follow the leader types on the j.c.a. ( that protest at ellerslie a few weeks ago was a stunner, incompentency at its best by both the r.i.u and the j.c.a. )...what is proposed in the so called 'game changing' legislation our minister is proposing for the racing industry is ludicrous. You have to wonder don't you. Has Peters actually read this? Does he comprehend what it means? Is he really suffering from dementia? Does he think this will get the go ahead from our present bunch of losers govt? Is he pushing this proposed legislation, knowing it will fail, all the time hoping it does fail so he can justify all of the bullshit up to now..and say 'well I tried, now your'e fucked'! Does anyone pushing this shit on rita or nz first really know anything about the industry and the state its in?

'Although she had red hair when I knew her'....cmon tommo, thats not all 'she' had was it? Note to self by Tommo...' Must do due diligence before indulging' ...'tackle' does not always refer to rugby!!!
-
The policies that Peters is trying to put in place are straight out of the Communist manifesto. Take property for the state and sell it, then keep the proceeds? We've been through this before, but doesn't the plan sound familiar? It reminds me of the story of the sinking of the titanic...no, not the 'deckchairs while the band plays on' bit. The bit where people are drowning after the ship went down and they try to clutch at a piece of flotsam floating past them...keeps them afloat for a few minutes more but the end result is the same.

Shoudn't be surprised tommo. Godber is as weak as piss. Even tho I have decided to 'eschew' ( what a lovely word!) NZ racing I still have sources there and hear that complaints are forthcoming from some high placed trainers about the j.c.a. especially stevie wonder doolly who just follows whatever oathum of the riu wants, and also the farce in the hearing when neither oathum or j.c.a. people bothered to ask the affected rider any questions....surely thats step number 1 when a situation like this protest arises? How could they reach any decision until sam collett said-either way-if she was affected by the bump she got? I'm hearing she has told people she didn't think she would have won anyway....!! Can't wait for a similar enquiry in a group race, lets see how the so called experts go then.

Latest version of the Racing Industry Bill - LAND GRAB!
Kopia replied to Chief Stipe's topic in Galloping Chat
No No No tommo. I posted here a few months ago that I WILL NOT race horses or punt in NZ until there is some sanity, in the powers that be i.e. NZTR, RITA, and whatever other inititals are involved, or in the so called integrity unit, and the stevie wonder lookalikes in the j.c.a. -
Latest version of the Racing Industry Bill - LAND GRAB!
Kopia replied to Chief Stipe's topic in Galloping Chat
I'll put my hands up Chief-however there is an undeniable link between how our 'Racing Minister' is attempting to steal racetracks and land for the greater good and how the present coalition losers are acting. For peters to succeed in his land grab he will need the box to be ticked by labour and the greens. Thats the connection -
Latest version of the Racing Industry Bill - LAND GRAB!
Kopia replied to Chief Stipe's topic in Galloping Chat
Remember the night several days after the last election when Peters, a he does so well, grabbed the 'glory' and announced that NZ First was going to support Labour and the Greens ( thus hoisting fucking ardern upon us)...as well as that he said 'we' are going to be doing things 'differently'. little did most of us realise that what he was saying was ' we-your new govt. are backing communism and socialism, whats yours will become 'ours' and 'we' will decide what happens with your land..( and what you eat, drink, how your children are raised etc etc) If you don't believe what I've written above then just reflect on what is going on in this country. -
It wasn't her 'second up' start Fred it was her 3rd. But thats not the point, she was a failure in a Group 1 when hot favourite and we get nothing from the so called integrity unit. Useless.
-
So I looked at the stipes report just now from yesterdays Group 1. Supera, after a brilliant win last time out, was a pretty hot favourite. Apart from ' was hampered at the start' what do we get from the hot shot chief stipendiary steward Oathum...? Nothing. Hot favourite gets beaten in a G1 and not a word from the rider, trainer etc. Over here in Sydney there would be a full investigation, even a vet check if that took place in a G1. So whats up mr Oathum, still got yer head in a sling over the mess you made of that protest at Auckland last week when you didn't even question the rider of the affected horse..?
-
Some people are missing the point here. There is no doubt that there was interference towards the end of the race. You don't need extra films, rear/front etc etc to determine that. Its not disputed. What IS disputed is whether the 2nd horse would have beaten the first horse if that interference didn't occur. Most rational race viewers would say no. The winner had it all over the 2nd horse, and would have won by more if it didn't run about. The most concerning aspect of this matter is this. The inept j.c.a. did not question the rider of the 2nd horse when they had every right to question her. Irrespective of what Ellis said, it is clear in a hearing like this that the j.c.a. call the shots, not owners/trainers/riders/syndicate managers etc, That they chose not to question Sam Collett is incredible. So what did they rely on to make their decision? It seems that Mr Oatham, the Stipe, has bamboozled them into the decison to change the placings. That is disgraceful. No wonder many racing professionals ( read trainers, other riders ) are totally pissed off over this. Supposedly 'independent' j.c.a. told what to do by Ellis, then change placings in a race when befuddled by a stipe. Read it and weep. I've had some racing 'experts' here in Sydney look at this. They just laughed.
-
Yep and I want to nominate Mr D Ellis for the job. He appears to already have the r.i.u. stewards and the j.c.a plods under his control so how hard can the rita job be???
-
Chief I'm overseas at present and thats why I earlier said I'm not posting for a while. however having read about this ' enquiry' or whatever, there are a couple of issues that arise: From the films on line there is no way that the Te akau runner would have beaten the winner. Part of the rules governing protests says something like ' if the interference had not taken place the affected horse WOULD HAVE beaten the other horse. No way in hell would that have been the case. I agree with others here that the only reason the 2nd horse got close to the winner was because the winner was running about and was being restrained by its rider ( who curiously given she lost the race, was not charged with careless riding?). BUT Read the report on the j.c.a. website. How about this for a stunner: "Mr Ellis advised the Committee that he and Ms Collett the rider of Bordeaux Le Rouge had nothing to say in relation to the alleged incident'. WHAT?? AND it appears that the bloody j.c.a.-one of whom not surprisingly was dreary Doolly-did not even ask one question of S Collett!! Ellis has no right to tell the stewards or the j.c.a. that they can't ask a rider questions! Yet they bloody folded in front of him. Surely they had to ask Collett what had taken place? Would she have won if not interefered with? How was her horse travelling? This is bloody disgraceful and heads should roll.

Chief, thanks for the opportunity to post here. Occasionally I may have put something up which was of interest to some, at least. However I'm checking out while the lunatic is having another breakdown. Kopia

Maybe rogerson told the owner its my way or the highway after that foolish attempt at Hastings? Not sure she was as impressive as the winner of the 7th on the day...he carried 4kg more, came from last at the 600m, last 600 in 34.29 against her 34.96. She was about a 3rd of a second faster overall.
-
And really..don't you have to ask yourself how clever he actually is? Whats that saying ' keep doing what your'e doing and you'll keep getting the same results' ? Isn't this at least the 3rd time that he has fucked up a political liason..and it's always the other parties fault. Yeah he might squeeze out of this but at some point soon enough people are going to be so pissed off with his bullshit and evasiveness that he'll just disappear off the face of the ( political ) radar. Cant'come soon enough.

The purpose of the donation is between the donor and the recipient...I'm not privy to that-thats why there HAS to be investigations made. It certainly looks on the verge of criminality given what has been reported-so far. Its interesting that you jump to the conclusion that I'm a ' nats' supporter. I'm abivilent when it comes to politicians, they're all crook until/unless they prove otherwise. Most of them don't. Like ARDERN...what a flake. She is impotent when it comes to making decisions. Best thing that could happen in this Country right now would be a snap election. The posturing and threats from peters' mouthpiece henry are atrocious. nz first would be a goneburger, and peters knows it-unfortunate for the racing industry, if peters kept his mind on the job at hand there may have been real progress already.
-
When a person gives ( money ) to another person/organisation for a specific purpose....and that money is used/taken and put into an entirely different destination...that could well be prima facie grounds for an investigation into a criminal offence having been committed. Thats called false pretences, and thats why David Seymour is righfully considering bringing the Police into the situation-as well as breaches of the Election Act. Don't forget Ardern is also the focus of an investigation re the Labour party hierachy scumbag who sexually assaulted people...while that will no doubt come out and say she 'did not' know the substance of the allegations..when it's clear she did. Doesn't really matter what your political beliefs are, what is going on in NZ politics stinks.
-
Its not my 'tits' that are in a tangle tommo old son. Your dearest leader jax is refusing to say if she has confidence in peters..as a minister AND deputy prime minister. You know what that means...she can see he is in deepest shite and she doesn't want to get dragged down into the mire with him. But its unavoidable love, he is the only reason the losers coalition exists. p.s. try and keep your responses in the 2019's tommo...your usual trick is to attempt to deflect criticism back in time...keep current eh?
