? To maybe deflect some of the shite, how about spending some constructive time doing this? At a time when the racing industry-generally-is heading into oblivion unless a miracle similar to you know who's parting of the seas takes place very soon, are you able to 'source' what the costs of running the 'industry' might be? I don't have the time or the expertise to track it all down, talking here about salaries, fees, associated known costs. RITA ( you can estimate what these people are getting $$ plus logistical staff) NZTR, JCA.The so called report from some old copper which was shown here a few weeks ago stated some figures so you' have to imagine he did some homework and got them right? Are we talking $20 mil? $30 mil? more? I don't really know. IMHO talk of streamlining parts of the industry are too restrictive. All bets should be off. No more 'protective ones'. It starts here. On the contrary Tommo, the principle here is an over-riding one. I believe Stephen McKee did not contest the charge, which means that any legal argument about consequences were restricted to penalty. Where does responsibilty start and end ? Think about this : these ' LIME' scooters are available to hire without any personal oversight by the ' owners'. It seems that you, as the hirer, have to make certain representations about your age, driving experience ( licensed? ) and as long as you can pay for the hireage, your'e on your own. So what happens if an under-age person 'illegally' hires one and gets wiped out by a bus while on one of these things? Does the owner/s of the LIME machine then stand back and say' not my problem, he/she said that they were old enough/experienced enough'....would this be classed as an 'accident' or would the next of kin of the injured/deceased have a case against the proprietors of LIME's ? McKee's case sets a precedent which could have very far reaching consequences in all situations where injury/death occurs, it's a lot wider then the racing industry.

There is some good news to come out of the misfortune that has struck ROARING LION......a tremendous racehorse, epitomised by his will to win and 'never give in'... As a result of some generosity by the horses' owners, there is several metres of ' guts' available which has been excised from Roaring Lions' insides....given that your beloved taxinda ardern is such a quitter who runs like hell when the going gets tough, the 'guts' have been offered to her...how good is that? Might be just what she needs to stop her pissing off when the going gets tough ( as in a holiday in the Tokelaus where her dear daddy is High Commissioner or something...think its called 'nepotism' aint it?)
