Thank God that the j.c.a. genius from up in Auckland wasn't involved. Probably would have promoted the last horse to first because it didn't get a fair chance?

Calling Witless Winston and the idiot Journalists
Kopia replied to Reefton's topic in Galloping Chat
I understand that Taupo had a huge on course turnover at their last meeting. Likewise the West Coast meetings...I don't know the maths but it would be interesting to do an exercise...i,e, capital value of racecourse versus 'income' on raceday. Compare that to most Ellerslie meetings ( actual race turnover not their inflated drinks etc)...think there'd be a huge disparity? -

I take it then that it's a No. Great stuff from the coalition of losers..at least they are consistant in their non-action. -

Tommo old son...was winnie on your tour group in Egypt..or wherever you've been...was he there to dry out? Whats the goss? Is the masterful one going to announce anything positive in the next week or 10 days...before the yearling sales? Cos' if he doesn't the sales are well and truly stuffed. I'd hate to be a vendor-have a look at the latest Gold Coast sales, something like $169m...and over 90% sold to Aussie punters. Must be true because they said it on whalein...what that means is feckall aussies coming here, singapore looks to be in trouble, stakes falling, honkers may be ok but overall not looking great. So come on Tommo. Whats in the pipeline NONONO I'm talking news not yer bowels you dog.? -
Yes not even mentioned in their bullshit race report.
-
Worse still...how did he get away with not being suspended again at ellerslie on Sunday? Come on you useless stewards, he caused mayhem, can't blame the horse for it..thats the trouble when you've got stipes who were 2nd rate jockeys making decisions.
-
Suspended at a lowly maiden event, misses Group 1 on Melody Belle...Opie, maybe it would have been better to stay at home, just ride at trials/trackwork...?
-
If she had got the same track as it was on Boxing Day at Ellerslie she wins....just too firm on 1st Jan
-
She won that race really well...however you have to say, while some of the horses behind her have been prett damn good...they aint now.
-
So Mr P DWharf....you haven't answered my questions....why do you think the greens/peters and taxi won't put the 2 questions above into their referendum? I'll make it easy for you and answer...Because theyr'e hypocrites, thats why. They stand on their high horses and preach to us about moralistic and 'health' issues, fat kids, too much sugar, cows farting etc etc..but when it comes to the TWO BIGGEST health problems in this country, and a lot of the World. i.e. booze and tobacco..they're gutless and silent..because they know they'd be pushing shit uphill..much easier to go for dope, never mind about little kids being exposed to it wholesale, indoctrinate them into the drug culture early eh?

Mis Use of Drugs Act 1975 Class C Drugs= Cannabis leaf, cannabis seeds. Cops may not be enforcing this as they once were but its still an illegal drug.

Fields at Manawatu 22 December - Sure Sign Something is Wrong
Kopia replied to Chief Stipe's topic in Galloping Chat
The biggest growth numbers in ' ownership' continues to be in syndication..so people are continuing to get involved for a few bucks a week, no real expectation of large returns on their dough..so the stakemoney to them is irrelevant. Trainers still have full barns, training fees coming in on time. Individual ownership-apart from people like Peter Vela, Kevin Hickman and a few others-has plummeted. The quality of the fields/stakes etc play second fiddle to people who only have a 1% ownership..its all about the 'occasion' for them ( and good on them too, without them the industry would be/is buggered ).and again its reflected in the massive decline in the number of 'small time' breeders. -
Tell me this then DWharf........in this proposed referendum on decriminalising mind altering drugs, why hasn't this govt also indicated that they will ask these questions, and the resulting answers be 'binding'.. 1. Do you support the total ban on the sale of tobacco products in NZ ? 2. Do you support the total ban on any alcohol products in NZ and the production of any alcohol products in NZ ? This would solve most of the issues re domestic violence, suicide, road crashes etc that you refer to... do you think they will do this ?
-
The argument that 'we' already have a huge issue with alcohol is undeniable. However how does that resonate with 'legalising' another brain tissue damaging 'drug'? Young people will already be thinking that cannabis must be harmless because this cocked-up govt we have is clearly wishing to legalise it. The greens should be hanging their heads in shame. So should peters=young Maori ARE the worst affected by alcohol and drugs. For some reason-and this is not being racist-Maori and Pacific Islanders just cannot resist booze and drugs. Who knows why..but its also undeniable. peters tries to play the old..'but we aren't in a coalition with the greens'...but listen winnie, if it wasn't for YOU the greens would not be a part of any govt and therefore would not be able to blackmail ardern into this so called referundum. Legalising/decriminalising cannabis is step 1..and NZ will rue the day it went along this path. Hopefully by the next election enough people will have seen through arderns lies and smiles and get rid of her!!...and welcome a real woman..Judith Collins as PM?

D.Wharf...I might have to have another/several more wines to see how some of those you named have any relevance to NZ racing or the horrific road toll and bloody atrocious driving in NZ..I'm sure there must be a connection....aaahhh..hang on, are they all tokers?
-
Thats the type of simplistic answer I expected Tommo...you havent thought it through.. Heres one for you to ponder: the road toll is horrific for a country NZ's size. Driving habits are deplorable. Taxis answer is to spend a billion plus on roads...the roads aint the problem. Ask any truckie. So now your'e quite happy for 'social use' of cannabis, hows that gonna stop the road toll? Will the rozzer strength be tripled so they can test every driver?...likewise the r.i.u....already a bloated ourfit, they'll need another 30 staff at least just to test every jockey/driver/stablehand every raceday/trials day/trackwork.... And yes, being from Dunders, how can I not be a bogan? and proud of it?
-
Its clear that your weak kneed pals currently forming the coalition of losers are intent on de-criminalising cannabis...and you can bet methamphetamine would be the next 'drug of choice' to become non-criminal too, they're already handing out thousands of $$$ to 'tenants' allegedly penalised ( even tho they were probably manufacturing the stuff in the landlords houses) So, how would it work re the Racing Industry tommo? Don't try and tell me that taxi would have different laws!''...can you be a little bit stoned, so as to safely ride/drive horses? And drive horse floats ( and milk tankers, stock trucks etc etc..and boats....get the drift?) What about the Stewards..can they be a bit stoned? ( some may say they already are)..maybe only smoke it on trackwork or trials days eh..not racedays...love to hear how it would LEGALLY work..oh, and yes half the country is probably already brain damaged by cannabis but doesn't make it any safer for the rest of us.
-
the princess is like taxinda....' don't send me any feckin flaky pastry, I want the real thing'
-
I dont see anyone from the 'coalface' of racing. Someone who actually physically works in the industry. Can't tell me there aren't any. This woman macdonald was sucking $250,000 per year out of the j.c.a. when she was the chairlady of it..for doing sweet f.a. So this 'committee' is more of the same. Political bullshit.
-
Interesting....after all of the fuck ups labour has made in 12 months...a few= kiwibuild-can't give the houses away....criminals=love to have you living here boys, free tertiary education=$50 million wasted, people who never turned up or failed rudimentary courses, minister assaulting staff, on and on....now nobody will admit to voting labour...just like its hard ( apart from Tommo) to find anyone who voted for peters...I sure didn't. ?
-
And really....is the heading to this post really indicating anything that important on the scale of things? Yes, should have been activated years ago. But all this tells us is that the R.I.U and whoever makes policy are defunct. Is this the best they can do? Its bullshit Tommo. What I would call a smoke screen. What about the real issues, R.I.U raceday stewards turning a blind eye to serious raceday matters if they involve certain ' senior' riders...you know its true. Lazy, slothful behaviour by certain people who are supposed to oversee racetrack safety. The list goes on. don't be sidetracked by a few 'jockey managers' having a bet. If they are that bad at betting that they have to work at sad sack racetracks in NZ then they can't be that good anyway!
-
I just read peters' 'address' on another' chat site...back pedalling big time, as nearly all of us knew he would. 6 months after the wonder man released his aussie mates doctored 'report' and still nothing. Who knew eh Tommo?
-
Yes here's the problem. No leadership. RIU running around like a chook with its head chopped off. The guy comes across like a bumbling fool. He can't be that stupid, shirley? However, a job in a back room, not having to make decisions or public statements...thats the job for you Mike.

Of course the alleged offenders are entitled to defend themselves. There are processes to follow, the Police ( because these are criminal charges will have to reveal the evidence they have to substantiate trials or otherwise. No good wringing hands and saying 'hurry up'..the 'delay' in hearing these charges are actually for the defendants benefit.
