  1. Not many Waikato or Auckland trainers are bothering to travel.
  2. Ben Butcher - broken collarbone?
  3. Bullshit decision - breached the push out rule when he forced his way back onto the track .... About Turn pushed 3 wide yet apparently Mr Yips didn't gain an advantage - load of crap!
  4. Manawatu are light on staff which probably helps - I believe Cambridge losses are in the hundreds of thousands every year and they have a far larger pool of horses available to them. Traveling to race at Manawatu is an expensive exercise.
  5. They have a pretty good handle on Fraud .... which is what race fixing is.
  6. https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=12173062 Probably be the lead mainstream news story tonight
  7. Heard the whisper this morning!
  8. Absolutely - would assume that anyone charged with "administering" could be prosecuted by both the RIU and Police .... just like someone charged with assault can be taken to Court both civilly and criminally.
  9. It will be another criminal race-fixing charge based on the wording in the article.
  10. and so it goes on https://theinformant.co.nz/operation-inca-accused-appear-in-court/?fbclid=IwAR2g0U-k7mWuzYjva84u-OgsuVHCLmuyqlfBMvEtpaDyKuKTVJfeLopyzJw
  11. That was kept pretty quiet
  12. Yep - if they had concerns, blood should have been taken on the Sunday morning.
  13. GK mentioned on the Turn It Up Podcast that the newly charged person is not a licence holder
  14. On that we can agree
  15. Not if (for example) they have recorded conversations of driver Z agreeing to ensure their horse (say the favourite) will finish outside the first four placings .... that means that every punter that's included that horse in their betting combinations has lost money - not to mention the owner and trainer of said horse. From all accounts, this is not about publicly made statements but about secret recordings of implicated parties.
  16. Have you read the legislation? No money needs to be made behind the scenes - there can simply be a loss to others for a "fix" to be proved ....
  17. Not the first time that's been said to be fair .... or was it that I thought I knew everything .... hmmmmm?
  18. Surely it's time for HRNZ to rescind some licences
  19. Wallis and Hackett
  20. Especially since he got warned for the same thing at Cambridge on 9 November ..... different rules depending on who you are methinks! Warnings: Race 2 Z Butcher (MUSTANG SALLY) [Rule 869(4)] - Driving in a manner likely to cause interference. MUSTANG SALLY - Driver Z Butcher was cautioned in regard to the manner he eased the pace after reaching the lead passing the 1800 metres inconveniencing trailing runners.
  21. Posted on the Harness Owners Facebook page https://www.paulickreport.com/news/ray-s-paddock/tricks-of-the-trade-how-epo-used-for-blood-doping-a-horse/#disqus_thread
  22. Or Ricky May's thrashing of Inky Lord when he won - the replay shown yesterday was a real example of excessive whip use.
  23. I must be one of the few that has never watched this show
