  1. Owner gave Butcher the drag according to Garrick Knight
  2. Acting on a report provided by Racing Investigators who completed a stable inspection at the training premises of N McGrath, Stewards ordered that CLOUD NINE and STEEL THE SHOW in Race 8 be scratched acting under Rule 213(1)(c). An investigation was opened into this matter.
  3. ..... that team driving backfired on them!
  4. My old favourites: ARGUS TUFT RHYMES WITH BANKER
  5. So enlighten us as to what is fictional in the story posted above?
  6. Not there for much longer by the look of a recent Facebook post - heading to Bluey Steele's old property on Weedons Ross Road.
  7. Has been with the Fords since the Amberley meeting in February - raced at Waikouaiti from their barn
  8. 3 wins / 3 seconds / 3 thirds - (including 1 trifecta). Not too bad I would've thought considering he multiple runners in some races?
  9. My old trotters would've loved 3000 m on the grass - shame I don't have any nowadays. Tiz a long haul to Otaki though and accommodation being hard to come by makes for an expensive trip if you don't run in the money.
  10. http://www.jca.org.nz/non-race-day-hearings/non-raceday-inquiry-riu-v-s-a-dolan-reserved-decision-dated-15-january-2020-chair-mr-r-g-mckenzie
  11. How is this any different: CHECK IN - contacted several marker pegs rounding the home turn when held up for clear running. Held 2nd in a Group 2 race ..... I guess it depends on what your name is? https://harness.hrnz.co.nz/gws/ws/r/infohorsews/wsd06x?Arg=hrnzg-Ptype&Arg=RaceVideo&Arg=hrnzg-RacehdrID&Arg=273055&Arg=hrnzg-rSite&Arg=TRUE
  12. Used to love Claudelands - a few good wins there too
  13. Agreed - relegation would've been seen as the fairer decision.
  14. Betcha if it was an amateur, junior or a "nobody", then this horse or it's driver would've been put out ....
  15. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-A3-EqJR_h8&feature=emb_logo
  16. Only managed to get 7 races off the ground for Friday .....
  17. Agreed - can't stand it and certainly won't attend (or even watch) meetings where every race is over a mile.
  18. Jamie has trained and driven horses for me in the past. Not one was ever returned to the stabling area showing signs of excessive whip use, yet I've had horses blistered by the whip work of other drivers - drivers that have never been engaged by me since.
  19. CRUZ BROMAC - raced three wide early and middle stages before crossing to race outside the leader passing the 800 metres. Driver M Purdon was questioned regarding his decision to surrender the parked position near the 600 metres to the improving ULTIMATE SNIPER. After hearing initial evidence from Mr Purdon and viewing the replays the investigation was adjourned to enable Stewards to give the matter further consideration. Who hands up the parked position at the 600 metre stage when everything is sprinting for home? Missed the win by a head ..... the excuse will be interesting.
  20. Alexandra Park - race 2 - terrible look
  21. Plenty of things that were around a hundred years ago have now gone - I tend to agree with Rusty, if harness racing is to remain attractive to the punter maybe it's time to catch up with the rest of the world (largely) and use mobile starts only?
  22. I've bought four horses off Horse Trader and they won 13 races between them. Just bought my first one off Gavel House and the trainer reports she is coming along nicely (fingers crossed) - both sites and processes are very user friendly!
  23. Still is
  24. Yawnfest!
  25. I think these hearings (hopefully) are just to confirm the disqualification of the horses so that stakes payments can be made - the charges against the trainers will follow (surely)?
