  1. NI ranks gonna be even thinner soon with young Bublitz moving South in the new season
  2. Found the answer: 213 (1) A Stipendiary Steward at any time may scratch from a race or declare ineligible to start in a race until a specific condition is met any horse on all or any of the following grounds:- (c) that the horse has had or may have had administered to it a prohibited substance;
  3. Acting on a report provided by Racing Investigators who completed a stable inspection at the training premises of S Wigg this afternoon, Stewards ordered that GETN WIGGY WITHIT (Race 4), SAINT MICHEL (Race 6) and HAPPY PLACE (Race 7) be scratched acting under Rule 213(1)(c). An investigation was opened into this matter.
  4. I think you'll find most (if not all) the other available juniors are in Christchurch for the championship
  5. Same as for the South ... https://infohorse.hrnz.co.nz/dochr/hrnz/Guidelines-2021-Junior-Champs.pdf
  6. It's great that the punters get looked after when things like this happen, but what about the owners - getting scratched if denied a fair start, or being declared a non-runner means they don't even get the "also ran" dollars.
  7. 319(1)
  8. No idea - just saw the horse being exercised for the vet not long after it arrived on course.
  9. Was inspected in the stabling area prior to the first race
  10. Apparently Hawera has been given a two day meeting 18 and 20 January 2022 (Tuesday / Thursday).
  11. Whangamata is another example of what a change in environment can do - last couple of starts have shown promise.
  12. .... and his fave horse Aveross Spitfire just bolted in at Oamaru too!
  13. The horses were transported to Addington and swabbed so will be interesting to what the swab results show in comparison to what was seized from his stable
  14. At Karaka
  15. There were plenty tested on the day. The stipes grabbed every driver that walked past from what I saw.
  16. There are only 9 junior drivers left in the North Island - sad state of affairs.
  17. Not necessarily - it's all about causing a loss to another ..... if a driver states to another driver, "I'll remember that" when he doesn't get his own way in a race and then intentionally does something in a later race that causes that other driver's horse to be disadvantaged, that is technically race or match fixing.
  18. This has NOTHING to do with the RIU! The clown bashed a woman, has been found criminally guilty and seriously deserves anything dished out to him!
  19. Seriously? There is no justification for what Anderson did - intense pressure or not! Punching, choking, kicking a women in the head is unacceptable - surely you're not gonna argue with that?
  20. Wonder what the story is there?
  21. I would lay odds that the horse is the stable's GP and that it lines up when there's room on the truck to receive the "also ran" stake to earn it's keep. That being the case, I'd further lay odds that the owner isn't paying out mega (if any) dollars. At the end of the day, it's none of our business so who really cares.
  22. They did nail him in court - he pleaded guilty - Judge let him off
  23. They should have given Forbury the Easter Saturday and Monday dates they took off Hawera
  24. The horse is probably the stable's galloping pace maker going around for "also ran money" to go some way toward paying for feed and shoes.
