  1. Mmmhmm - if weight had little difference, then why would trainers put on 4kg apprentices who don't know how to steer a horse, as opposed to an experienced rider? Oh I know... the drop in weight.
  2. "The flipside of the garrulous host is a man who holds immense, obsessive grudges, even against those who barely know him" That was a tough read about the idiot, but I had to laugh at this excerpt. What a sad life he has lived.
  3. Interesting. Good on them I suppose.
  4. I don't believe they have to honour incorrect odds do they? Well.. they haven't when I've spotted an error and tried to cash in.
  5. That's interesting, given that the Australian government is making it harder to attract punters.
  6. Fair point Curious. I was more meaning the mentality of Barry in this forum. The tipping winners was from my perspective. I get paid when I tip winners, so tipping losers at value will leave me without money. That has nothing to do with anyone else's approach to betting because you're not getting paid to provide tips.
  7. Good riddance.
  8. What do you do for a living, if you don't mind me asking? You must be a "value" to your company. Your "value" to this thread is 0. I hope you look back and "value" the advice given to you by posters whose opinion I "value". Unfortunately for you, there's no "value" in your opinion. You can't win an argument by name calling and raising your voice. No one "values" that person. No one values someone who is too enraged to use correct written English.
  9. That's not very nice.
  10. Barry's narcissism about his punting abilities is certainly strange. I've always adopted the "us vs them (bookies)" approach, but Barry has adopted the me vs. everyone else approach. Hardly warming but everyone is different. Barry has always had a chip on his shoulder. I just hope that got him somewhere in life.
  11. I rarely bet. I provide tips for a living and have made a good living off of that. Let me get this into your thick skull. Most recreational punters do not want tips for horses that don't win. They don't give a flying fuck about value, they don't care about where the horses finishes unless it wins. That is fact. Now... if you're talking about professional punters, those who aren't employed to give tips, but make their living off their own coin, then yes, betting for value is key. That makes up for about 1% of the bettors in the world. You're one-dimensional Barry. You fail to see that there are different forms of punters, tippers, NFI'ers. You have clearly never been employed to provide tips, because if you had, you would have lasted less than a week. P.S - If you want to call me a loser punter, that's your choice. However, those at the likes of the Racing Post, myracing.com and Covers.com - who pay me very well to provide tips, would leg to differ. Now jog on you sad piece of work.
  12. One website that I'm about to start with has an option where the customer only pays for the tip if the horse wins. Imagine how many free losing tips "That" lot would be dishing out... Of course, winning is not all about going 10/10 on the card. But punters, especially when you're the one tipping them, would rather the money in their bank as opposed to backing a loser at value.
  13. Worst track in NZ. That's personal preference so don't get your knickers in a twist.
  14. Sure. Enjoy your night. Plenty of value in having a good and stress free night.
  15. Nope. Just the one. I'm guessing you have gone direct to the bookmakers you have accounts with? Never gone via punters, racenet etc?
  16. Barry continues to make a fool of himself. Assuming we all don't bet for value, as if he knows something about us. Quit while you're behind.
  17. When did I ever talk about not betting for value? I simply said there was a track bias....didnt mention betting at all. Weird.
  18. Yes - this website exists only if people agree with Barry. The nerve of this guy. At least Thomas adds some flair. What do you add to this site apart from always being negative and spouting off about your friends at the other channel.
  19. Thoughts on commentators telling us who ran 16th past the post? In the US they stop at 4th. It's never accurate and you could instead be instilling excitement about the winner instead of going through a dozen runners that are 30 lengths behind the good horse.
  20. Dumb prick and clown - ouchie. FYI - this thread was started because I was bored with the continual "bias" of Te Rapa. It had nothing to do with betting - or as you like to call it - value. So fuck off please and stop hijacking every thread with your bullshit.
  21. My god, Barry. Just how thick are you? Just because a runner taking advantage of the bias is paying unders, doesn't mean the track bias doesn't exist. Also.... "value" is a term that differs from punter to punter. You could have a runner priced at $6 and it runs at $10 - that's value. Another punter could have the same horse priced at $14 - that's not value. It's subjective and it's blurring your vision of being a knowledgeable punter - which you're clearly not.
  22. Use the fixed. At least you know what you're getting! Otherwise it's seemingly a lottery. Even a $10 bet can take your odds from $4 to $1.80 in some markets ?
  23. You must be happy to be a part of the 1% Barry.
  24. You can't be serious, right? The first four around the turn have an 80% win rate. If it's a five-horse field, the chances of that happening significantly increase as opposed to the field being 16.
  25. I'd like to know more about your 80% - first 4 turning home stat. How many runners in a race on average? That would have a massive impact on that statistic. If you're betting in Sydney, where the fields are around 7-9 runners, or if you're backing at Riccarton, where field sizes can be around 14-16. I presume you have that knowledge on hand.
