I get your frustration , but just xfering a meeting to an A/W at the last moment will still cost a raft of scratchings as there will be horses that are running because they want a wet track and were nom'd and accepted because of the rain . If they fixed the underlying issue which is the state of the grass tracks there would be no problems such as today and there would be no requirement for A/W's .

Memory is definitely going Joe , Brambles won a Queensland Derby and Sangster won the VRC Derby as well as an Auckland Cup . If i am wrong and you send that photo can you do me a favor , and no disrespect , but can you photo shop so only Kylie is in it . Anymore could do me mental damage lasting the rest of my life . Much appreciated .

Not the way they ride them in NZ .
-
Definitely going to need pace and breaks .

Won impressively last start , going thru the race i just kept going back to Artorious , not convinced he stayed a mile and i wonder if he is just a sprinter so i think 8's is good value .
-
Well i hope it does something better than their current system , i've just received the email about this system , why i don't know , i haven't held a license for 3 years . Regularly get them , i keep hoping they will put some stake money into my acct by mistake .

For those that got some of Kahma Lass a few weeks ago she has to be worth a few dollars on Saturday , at 18's , drawn 1 so if she can get a nice soft run in midfield and some luck in the straight i think she will give a sight .

On the way he won last week Forgot You has to be very tough , if it comes down to a dog fight he has to go close , wasn't going to win till the last 50 and Flemington will be right up his street , great draw , and 4.5 great money , i thought 2.5 on his form . The way Gunstock won at Geelong was impressive but horror draw , so i'll go FY .

Don't know , but it's enormous , so it must be important .

Most people can't be bothered with offshore acct's , too much hassle , and a vast majority are simple working folk so not that tech savvy , no matter what the TAB or cretins think , so they will take what is on offer and the bookies know that . Historical betting would show them that these sort of unders are still taken .

They know they will get NZ money so the gutless pricks are protecting themselves as usual .

Can't see her running top 4 but rate better than 19's , odd ????
-
You don't give her much hope , so i want 60's .
-
No Never .

I agree with the state of our racing , but there was a time betting on Aussie races was a side bar to our own top notch product .
-
There's always been leaches on the tit , as you phrase , but racing was booming and it didn't harm , now when we are at the tipping point it should be all hands on deck so things have to be done differently and fast .

Finally got a draw , a good measure of our group form , if she can land a top 4 in that field it will be a top effort , will still have some on her nose .

Have you seen the size of some of the guts on those committee guys who will be selling their bodies , plenty of bounce .

What's wrong with a bit of bare midriff on Victoria Derby Day?

Wholeheartedly agree . -

Really , i thought we had moved on from this male chauvinistic behaviour in racing . -
They have big stakes increases to cover , they'll be selling their bodies next . No not in that way . For science . That would be an upside .
-
Got that but why not let people see all results not just the ones that look half decent . And the damning stat is that 6 of their top results are on Aussie races , says it all .
-
The question was specific to turnover on the Cambridge A/W track and it's profitability , still don't see them .

Not a hope of getting me involved with the current regime , been there tried it locally , same parochial bullshit . I'm someone who gets involved to do shit , make a difference , otherwise what's the point . Not even about age , although at 60 i would be prepared to do my bit , that though is the big issue , getting everyone to do their bit , but the bigger issue is getting the nobs to pull their heads outa their arses and ask for everyone to do their bit . But it all has to be for the big cause . As for you mate and his friends walking away , i know of heaps of people who done exactly that , people with money who just got the stage of asking , WHY BOTHER , no one gave a shit . I actually bumped into a guy at the Dentist yesterday hadn't seen him for years and he was the same , so hasn't bothered with a horse for years and doubts he will . I'm different , i have a disease , i have to have some involvement , so will always have a small share in something ala Miss Balvennie , once retired probably try and have shares in 3/4 , mostly in Aus . Still bet most days because i enjoy it , it's a challenge to find winners . As for having a crack at Petone , well i don't have the CV that gets me on the Lazy Susan of executives that allows them to jump from one position to the next with no consequence . The one thing i will add though is that we are not the only industry that these slugs slime over , it's prevalent every where , no more than politics , Local body to Parliament then to Mayoralty somewhere . No thanks , i have some dignity .

I get your point Joe , but BS is the last in a long line no hopers , added to long line of administrators in all sorts of rolls that were just as lost and complacent as he is , even now they don't really seem to understand how dire the situation is , not just turnovers but the dropping quality of our horses , riders , tracks , facilities , stakes , the list goes on , but they have hung it on A/w's being the genie in the bottle for NZ racing , Bzzzzzz wrong . Someone somewhere in the last week stated that they have no been able to access turnovers from betting on the Cambridge A/W along with how profitable it was thru the Winter , the TAB wouldn't impart that information when asked , i wonder why , perhaps it would show that it is not the panacea that they thought , well guess what guys it will only look worse when the other 2 kick in , mostly because of a lack of numbers racing after the initial buzz of trying it has worn off . One thing i am positive of is that if the figures from punting on Cambridge had been great they would have had them out there faster than they can get a sausage roll down their gullets , they wouldn't have been able to stop gloating and boasting and saying the 2nd rising has come , they wouldn't have waited for someone too ask for the figures they would have mailed them out quicker than signing their big employment contracts . So what does the silence say , yell in fact , none of us have to be brain surgeons to work that out . But it is all good , the future is bright .
