  1. It was an odd one , never seen them hold up a meeting before after a horse has lost it's life , i got the impression it was more like a little bit of arse covering .
  2. After catching up with Weigh In today and listening to the ARC man , my first impression was that jumping was not going to be a part of the future of Ellerslie , which would be a great shame . I would have thought it would have been easy to say that they still hoped to maintain jumping at Ellerslie when the Strathayr went in but that it was still part of the discussion to be had , but gave nothing to give any indication that it was part of the plan . I maybe hearing it wrong tho . I'm ambivalent one way or the other , they have so few jumping races there now and the northern meeting isn't what it used to be so what they have now doesn't hold my heart the way it used to .
  3. Are you sure that rule covers Jumping racing , always been accepted that horses can fall and be re mounted to finish the race and receive any purse attached to it's finishing position . As i stated the rule may have changed but i have not heard of that change .
  4. But don't read into my comments that i think the racing heads have done some sort of risk/cost analysis , not that smart , more just a slash and burn approach i.e. radio broadcasts cut .
  5. It wont come to head until a serious incident , as in a death and H & S start an investigation and they get told , NAH we don't have enough camera's to cover all angles , what with cost cutting and all . They don't fix black spots on roads until the number of deaths becomes untenable , it's all a cost/risk analysis .
  6. I think most tracks with a carnival work on moving rail out as meeting progresses , if it rained after the first 1/2 days and the rail was being moved inward then the inside would be all but unused for last day/days if wet enough and horses would still be chewing up the wider parts of the track .
  7. The bit i don't get , they put the rail out on the bend till the 400/450 and left the straight in the true position . Odd decision to start with but definitely in retrospect .
  8. Well i backed 3 Pitman horses and none of the jockey's listened to him if that was what he instructed .
  9. Sorry T , but if the horse had left Kuru 20M behind , got to it's feet and stood there and Kuru walked 20M and remounted the horse and went on to win the race , what happens ? , is it disqualified ?, or does it retain the win . My understanding is that the horse wins , i stand to be corrected tho .
  10. Done a lot wrong up the straight , would have gone close if she had done everything right .
  11. How long till she's sold out of the country , another one .
  12. Not important enough for him to talk to me , i'm not complaining about watering , i'm saying track is worn for whatever reason , i'm sure moisture god given or not is helping the worn effect . All i'm saying inside is off .
  13. And Opie just confirms what i've just said , track worn .
  14. Well the Welcome Stakes is proof positive " the inside is off " . 2 days racing and the rain has taken it's toll . I can live with it as long as the jocks riding my bets are awake to it . Taken some of them 4/5 races . No form from the first day has stood up yet .
  15. Well your the only one that thinks the inside isn't off , the jocks don't want a bar of it . Out wider it's great .
  16. The jocks have woken up to the inside , most looking to get away from the inside , Danielle Johnson made a clear move to get Equinox away from the inside turning in . Such a shame when it's a G1 day .
  17. Inside definitely off , horses going nowhere down there in the first 3 races .
  18. Now i'm off out for for dinner with some other grown ups , I'm sure your caregiver will have your meal ready shortly , along with your meds . Got absolutely no idea what you mean by being caught , must be a game you play with the other clients .
  19. Heard you the first time . Now your just getting boring , i will wait in anticipation of your first contribution to a racing topic .
  20. I'm not defending him , i'm against the principle that someone who no one has heard from before comes onto the site and the first thing they have to contribute is a personal bagging , if that's all you've got to offer sweet . Having seen your replies i figure you wont have much to offer in regards racing .
  21. So now your a school teacher as well .
  22. Still time for you to show that there is more to you than the vapour thin intellect that you have so far displayed . Try discussing a current racing topic , something within racing that you feel you can contribute intelligent comment on .
  23. Your making my argument , you came on this site with your first post bagging someone , no intelligent insight , no informed debate or opposing view to any topic discussed , no just some random negative comment , so tell me , who might be 15 ?
  24. Too late , only room for one at a time and you seem to have promptly taken that mantle . That takes skill .
  25. Whatever .
