My thoughts are syndication is the only way forward. Today people spend 70%+ on rent or mortgage, rest of their wages going on food, clothing and alcohol. Doesn't leave much to race a horsey or 2

I did actually watch that video in the end. Maybe I'm being too cynical. As we know massive hours they put in, most stables do it for love. Very few being the exception. Maybe I'll change my view there, fair play to them. Very few better freelance drivers than M Purdon and N Rasmussen either.

I just don't get it, if they want out they want out? Not just helping out part time, driving the real good horses when it suits. This time next year Mark and Nat doing it again I'm picking. But I really don't get it, thought they would get out of it completely for a bit .....

the future depends on being able to get smart big punters betting on the nz product again in nz. Punters are what drives our industry. Breeders like to think otherwise, but its the consistent punter who spends their hard earned. I'm sure the guys in Petone have small genitalia, needless to say I haven't been out with a bookie!!! Anyone got a winner for tonight, out on the town Saturday night

Yep he's driving very well no doubt about that. Was Classie Brigade disappointing? Never looked like winning and cost me plenty, thought Johnny may have rolled to the top Get it wrong all the time with the Dunn stable, how often does their second stringer win? Even Robert Dunn wasn't overly confident with Henry Hubert but never looked like losing ..... sigh

Particularly this season in Auckland. Great to see David Butcher and co hang Mark Purdon out a couple of times, not able to slot into the running line. And yes I backed Mark Purdon's horses too. At least guy's like the Butcher's and John Dunn, Blair Orange will make them work from time to time. Horses aren't machines but those numbers would suggest otherwise ...

What are they meant to have done? Politics aside it doesn't really matter who is in power, but still great to see the country's fuc,d but im alright mentality still rife amongst middle aged white men ooh Winnie bailed the tab out, forget about owners, breeders, trainers and drivers. I'm tired of the glass half empty outlook. We are lucky to live in NZ, can we not be grateful? The boomers have raped and pillaged everything with excessive capital gains, living costs etc. The younger generation will have to work till 80 until they retire. But who cares, I'll be dead so it won't affect me. A fair summation
