  1. And the guy has the audacity to talk about the lack of integrity in the industry........a law unto himself
  2. Any queries etc etc on the other thread please PLEASE NOTE Entries on the Thoroughbred Competitions section
  3. SEE THOROUGHBRED COMPETITION SECTION TO ENTER Run over the 2 days of the Ellerslie Carnival, Boxing Day 26th Dec, New Years Day 1 Jan, both 10 race programmes. Don't get too worried about the rules, just pick 10 horses and 2 best bets, and we'll do the rest 1. 1 selection in each race, that you have $1 ew on, based on TAB tote prices 2. 2 best bets on each day, which means you have $2 ew on those selections 3. Approx entry format as below R1 4 August Edition R2 1 Whiskey Neat BB R3 1 Howbowdat R4 1 Dawn Patrol etc etc Names optional 4. Comp closes at 12.30 pm Dec 26 for that day 5. Scratchings can be replaced up until this time, otherwise you are on the TOTE Sub 6. Late scratchings on the tote sub 7. Total prize(so far $600), to be taken in the following way(will clarify on the day in case any further donors come forward) 8. Winner is the person with the highest dollar value. A tie, prize is shared 9. Chief Stipe as site owner has the final word on any disputes or decisions to be made Will try and do updates after each race with a bit of smart arse commentary Good luck and good selecting
  4. I suppose if you don't paint your wooden house every 10 years, for every year that you miss it compounds on the eventual total refurbishment cost
  5. Where prizemoney is concerned, usually pays to have a few
  6. Anyway, BOXING DAY fields are out, so plenty of time for study. Beware though, a lot of rain predicted for Auckland prior to Boxing Day The entry thread will still not go up till Sunday, so as not to detract from the final round of PJ's comp on Saturday
  7. Will clarify the prize on the ENTRY THREAD, as others may want to contribute
  8. Anything you want
  9. We've talked in the past about using FF prices quoted when you post your selection, harder to manage, but a consideration for a future comp mentioned in this thread. I guess it would be a key thing, as part of your guys skill is assessing value and beating what the TAB puts up
  10. On tote prices
  11. 1. Scratchings on the tote sub 2. Results calculated on $1ew(on tote prices) on your selection, so a good placing will get you more than a winner, if that winner is a shortish fave. Please note you have 2 best bets per meeting which is effectively $2 ew 3. Late scratchings you are on the tote sub, impossible to manage otherwise. Normal scratchings can be replaced up until the start time of the first race 4. If Boxing Day partially or fully abandoned, then we carry points through to NYD. If NYD partially or fully abandoned, then Boxing Day results stand, plus any accrued points on NYD. If both fully abandoned, then what happens with this comp will be immaterial, as there will probably be a lynching a Ellerslie or mass hari kari somewhere in the NZ racing world I see some pretty heavy rain predicted though
  12. Claiming on the ex premier site, that you owe money, I don't know whether you do or don't, but how much are you owed for website maintenance and hosting charges from RC days?. Was it about 2 years worth?, which mean't you effectively carried RC for it's last 2 years

  13. You don't have to ask, just enter
  14. So of the pros, we have, Mardi, VC, Barry, Curious and Thomass confirmed, just waiting to see if FTF reconsiders
  15. I notice the report says, by closing 20 tracks they will save 100 million dollars on upgrading facilities and tracks, but they were never going to spend that money anyway, so how can you claim to save it......I thought that was drawing a long bow
  16. I hope all you 'pros' enter this comp, there are lots of amateurs that would like to go up against you. It will all be in good humour and it won't mean anything other than a bit of fun And bragging rights..................... for a few minutes
  17. Someone mentioned that RC might have an edge because of something??? Their edge is well blunted these days, and the only semblance of an edge they may have, is Molloy, and if RC sinks much further, he will desert the ship, that's his style, that's what he does, have you not noticed it. Based on the last 10 days averages of the flagship section, RC Thoroughbred 25 posts/day, BOAY Thoroughbred 80 posts/day..........so it won't be long will it?
  18. Doesn't worry me in the slightest, been there done that, doesn't pay to get too precious about things. Pays to think of all the people who will enjoy the comp, and I know there are a few, some not in great health
  19. EGOS Egos would not allow it, whereas they might find acceptable a new cromplex other than Ellerslie, Avondale or Counties
  20. The thought has always been to run a comp with a starting pool of $100K, over a period of 10 weeks, all meetings in NZ/Aus, all bet types, still a lot of flesh to put on the bone But it takes a lot of work, so Xmas/New Year is not an ideal time Any input into the format appreciated.
  21. Settle folks, the thread was only to alert posters that don't normally visit the Comp section, that there was a comp. Entry thread would only have been in the comps section. Simple format as I don't have heaps of time available over the Xmas break. The thoughts are to run another one at some stage along the lines of what Barry is talking about. My inane chatter has a purpose, part of which seems to be working
  22. I must have missed it amongst all the inane chatter, but WTF is BP
  23. Wouldn't be Xmas on BOAY without a comp, so here we go Simple comp, Boxing Day and New Years Day at Ellerslie, 10 races each day, one selection per race, 2 best bets per day, $1 ew on your selection. Winner with the highest total at the finish of NYD. Closes at the start of racing on each day, no subs, scratchings can be replaced, up until close, then it's onto the sub. Everyone welcome, including our well versed comp players from the dark side, only catch, you have to register here Prize - $200 ENTRY THREAD on Sunday
  24. Disagree Strong leadership is about effectively facilitating change, getting everyone to buy in etc etc not forcing or mandating change, which will always create resentment somewhere
  25. Only made the suggestion of close to the major population centre, as at best racing would be 50-60 days per year, so it would need to be utilised the other 300 days, and any development would need to encompass that. Also close to the major gateway to NZ, Auckland International Airport. The 3 clubs would never agree to a scenario of no racing in the Auckland region, but maybe a very small chance with a joint complex
