  1. No one has explained how a synthetic track at Cambridge, that has no facilities(and Rotorua are supposedly moving there)will benefit racing, other than allowing the rich to get richer Smacks of a pay off
  2. Meaningful threads on racing with robust debate are what people want, but the Chief is a great advocate of free speech, so everything goes, other than when it crosses the line as below "A law has been breached e.g. defamation, slander, the Harmful Digital Communications Act; A person's family has been abused. We have no problem with robust debate between individuals but a line is crossed when attacks are aimed at or affect people who don't have the opportunity to reply;" I visit RC most days to keep an eye on online users, and the gap is slowly but surely narrowing. I suspect once the novelty of big money prizes fades, it will close even further
  3. And on cue, the old Scooby returns, closing down a thread when someone posts something he doesn't like Was anybody ever really fooled
  4. To be exact "You can shove your fucked up site where the sun doesn’t shine Scooby, I certainly don’t need this shithole to express myself or to connect with the racing community. Mind you the fact you’ve sat on your arse and allowed your site to go into a tailspin speaks volumes about you. I’ve had so many people from head office comment on how you’ve fucked this site up....no one posts anything relevant or intelligent here anymore. You’re actually very lucky that other losers site is no better because if it was you’d had no traffic at all." We're working on it, we are after all only 6 months old

  6. I find these submissions very hard to stomach. How many of these industry leaders or major players in the industry, got up and showed proactivity to do something about the industry over the last 10-15 years. Talk about run with the hares and hunt with the hounds! Winston has already stated the RB is a dead horse, what don't they understand about what that means
  7. By the way, you can't start a meaningful thread, because most of the posters with more than half a brain are here
  8. Well done Chief the ultimate compliment...........sort of Meaningful threads, well you would need a degree in stupidity, not to have figured that out. Some never will poundforpound I’m here, just watching. I took time out for three reasons, in this order. 1. The industry embraced Messara report is so dysfunctional ( P66 is just organised theft of industry assets ), to be placed in the hands of useless coonts at NZTR who’re not fit to buy my lunch. If the industry embraces that report they’re really stupid, more stupid than I thought, and I don’t want to be a part of it. 2. I warned admin that Thomson was an arse licker and a liar, and if they let him lie about me I’d walk. 3. This site is stuffed, it’s too cluttered with stupid comps of no value and you can’t start a meaningful thread any more.
  9. Isn't that the view of everyone within a 50km radius of Hamilton. Add in trading of bloodstock and preparing horses to race in Aus A nice little number for those that can get it
  10. I'm with you on Zonda, Steve I went and saw Roger James in July of that year, and he said then Zonda would win the Derby. I have a photo somewhere of Vinny Colgan on Zonda in the parade ring prior to the race. I wish someone could dig out some of these old videos, they must be somewhere.....PLEASE Zonda's Derby and Uncle Remus as well, would be great to watch again
  11. Holy cow, it is jam packed. I was there when Uncle Remus won the Derby in 1977. He went many lengths clear at the top of the straight, and everyone stood and just applauded as he galloped effortlessly to the finish, made the hairs on the back of your neck stand up
  12. Seems to have developed into that. So lets try, the most notable 3 NZ horses in the last 50 years, so back to 1968. I've not said the best 3, as most notable allows a bit of latitude for a variety of reasons. Sorry Aus horses too easy, Winx, BC and Makybe Diva or Kingston Town
  13. A sure way of making you weep at the demise of NZ racing Look at the first 12 winners of the Bayer, then the last 12
  14. Went to that Bayer meeting at Levin many times as a guest of Bayer, so free piss and food all day. It mean't getting up at 4am and driving down from Auckland, but most on here would understand what bliss that was. Veandercross the legend, none better
  15. The lightly framed filly La Mer was sparingly raced by her trainer Malcom Smith as a 2year old. Facing the starter only 3 times she was unbeaten and finished her season by winning the Group 1 Manawatu Sires Produce Stakes. At 3 years old she won 7 of her 8 starts in the Filly of the Year series. At 4 years old she was the star W.F.A. Horse of the Year, winning the Levin Cup, Auckland Thoroughbred Stakes, Manawatu Challenge Stake, N.Z. International Stakes, Rotorua Travelodge Stakes, Awapuni Gold Cup and Ormond Gold Cup. A trip to Australia in the Spring as a 5 year old was not a success winning the Coongy Handicap her only win in 3 starts. Brought home and freshened up she won the W.F.A. Manawatu Challenge Stakes, Air N.Z. Stakes and her 2nd Ormond Gold Cup. Le Mer raced 43 times for 24 wins and 13 placings, truly a champion.
  16. They closed Swing Note yesterday at 1.55 FF, and never even featured(5th), crazy money.
  17. Mark Claydon talking, sounds like Ken Rutherford

  19. Any update on Maija Vance?
  20. Talking about stipe control, and the incident happened at Riccarton about a year ago. You may recall, the starter let the field go, while one of the barrier attendants was still in front. Miracuously the attendant emerged unscathed after all the horses had thundered past. The incident was in the stipes report, but adjourned till a later date, that never ever happened. Unprofessional
  21. Didn't this happen with Sharrock with another horse about a year or so ago??
  22. On the track, the wins of Savvy Coup, Te Akau Shark and Madison County The betting plunge on Langkawi, that came off. Someone knew something and told a few people, up against a very impressive odds on shot in Lincoln Falls as well. Hesi's all up, thank you. I could not see how Melt, Mongolian Marshal and Love Affair could not fill a place, and they duly obliged
  23. Yep, hard to understand why the Waikato Greenfields project is proposed for 2026, get on and do it now Sell Te Rapa, the track is a sand pit Sell Waipa, it's a dog of a track anyway Don't bother wasting money on a synthetic track at Cambridge, no facilities there anyway Use all the money to build a flash new facility, somewhere not too far from Hamilton, that functions as a conference center etc etc when not being used for racing Put in a Strathayr track
