Yes to salary reductions and who knows as to what anyone's' true value is as its a subjective thing. PS, stop going on about Allen , he and his former Chairperson are gone . Its a new ball game under RITA and time will tell how they managed the business in the new environment we find our self in. I get that people want to moan and blame someone or some thing but the racing world has changed dramatically world wide in the last few years as its popularity declines. So much more competition for peoples time and disposable income. Shit , Stuff even has a millennials reporter. Greg Greg

Nor , should he or anyone else for that matter. You seem obsessed with the half yearly report. Are you running out of ammo to moan about??? Greg
-
Stop confusing current salaries as being something RITA introduced which is and has been my base case for not bagging them.. Those in the management team had their salaries decided way before RITA took over. We are talking Allen and Glenda here and some before then. Can you or anyone tell us what the current CEO is on?? I did not think so.J Allen was 750K according to some figures i have seen quoted and both he and CFO have departed I am almost certain that the RITA board will be looking to downsize management team in the near future but with a thing called Employment Contracts Act you cant just cut salaries . You would need to carry out restructuring which is both a timely and expensive process from a redundancy point of view. That may well be what is currently going on Greg

NZRB have definitely not helped industry codes over last decade and previously for that matter. Remember section 16 2003. RITA established to try and fix the broken ship and do what all the participants wanted , cut the cloth to match the income. In short everyone is getting what they said have wanted until it hits their back door and then the crying starts. In that respect i cannot help but commend RITA board for at last addressing issues and putting racing on a commercial footing. Some will grasp opportunities , others will be left behind. Peters was right about the moaners scratching their asses on the fence. Just my opinion on the matter but then again im forward looking and a restructuring fan. Better to save some than lose the lot so to speak. Feel free to attack Greg

Not sure why they would want to stop racing at Gore given its dual coded and includes gallops meeting from Tapanui and Wyndham. Plus if you close Wyndham they would race at Gore over invercargill given the Sponsorship deals they receive from Mataura Trust. Lets see how smart HRNZ are as it will be their decision just as it is with NZTR as to who stays or goes. Everyone wanted cost cuts etc, now your going to see it first hand. Greg

Has been gradually phasing himself out of Trackside for ages. I thought he was great for TB's and had immense knowledge on most facets of the game. As you say though Brodie, each to their own. ?

You tell us Chief, you seem to know everything as witnessed by your tremendous thread input about RITA? Its almost like you have a hotline to the chosen ones. Greg

Understood, some like to peddle alternative facts on the topic. NZRB is the entity who undertook the 50 mio TAB disaster with its ongoing 17 mio annual fee. Looking at it from the outside if you inherited a financial disaster which is what RITA found , you dont have any real options to do anything with the TAB website. People fail to grasp this important concept judging by some of the posts i read and clearly have no cognizance of priorities. Greg
-
You are kidding , just google RITA and see the updates they have been constantly providing . Greg
-
May i correct you TG, it was the previous NZRB's management and board who made that hole .Its been RITA's job to sort the mess out Greg
-
The vast majority of racing folk would support your sentiments TG but as always there are a few contrarians Greg
-
Im hopeful that will be the case going forward. Given they all took pay cut some time ago the portents are looking good. Have you or anyone heard anything from HRNZ board about their responses to Convid 19 Greg

Coronavirus: TAB consults on plan to cut 30 per cent of jobs
JJ Flash replied to Chief Stipe's topic in Galloping Chat
I'm only taking a stab here but RITA may well have done a cost/benefit analysis and concluded that it was no longer viable given the number of staff required on top of operational costs but im sure someone will no better Greg -
Not at all, as for playing the man , you and a few others are far better at it than me so its a no contest from me. I dont need your advice as to what is acceptable or not on other forums , have had no problems thusfar , in fact they come across as mostly reasonable types. You should not let your historical grievances get in the way of a good discussion, others dont Greg
-
I would hazard a guess and say their jobs and in the case of incoming CEO a decent pay cut. Would that be enough for you and others to be happy and contented?? Greg
-
Your replies suggest you have a lot of issues which i'm unable to help you with. Thank god you have no control over racing in NZ based on your arguements but each to their own. Greg

FFS , its a new board and executive CEO who were put there to fix the place and make it fit for purpose in 2020. In case you missed it the old board are gone and so are the CEO and CFO, the latter under a potential cloud Greg

Look to help you out once again and hopefully the last time. NZRB have had numerous CEOs and a variety of Board personal over the last decade. RITA is completely different both from a governance and operational point of view. They have a completely new board and have waved goodbye to the previous board,CEO and CFO. For you to say they are largely the same does you no credit. Further new leadership and board direction cannot undo or cancel previous contracts made by incompetent predecessors. For decades NZRB has suffered from overindulgent spending without the concurrent rise in income. The new board has taken the axe to costs and im sure they are not only Employee ones. The passage of time will see which one of us is correct on that issue The current 30% downsizing is probably just the beginning and will no doubt include some of those you refer to above. i.e The management team that RITA inherited Thats pure speculation on your part and if i was to take your approach i would ask you to give us evidence to back up your point. Dont worry i wont embarrass you as you make up enough stuff as it is IMHO If your really up with the play how did WP get on in Cabinet yesterday when he presented Racing act changes for consideration??. That to me is of more interest than your constant attacks on RITAs actions Greg -
Stick to the facts Rusty , that was the previous call of NZRB management and Board to spend the money and pay an annual fee. Sheer stupidity and that's why they are no longer there Greg
-
I thought you were smarter than that Brodie. Everyone said TAB and NZRB were way to costly to run so when the changes came as in above you all want to moan. Less top costs means more for stakes and owners. Isn't that what everyone has been asking for or are you being selfish in turns of wanting more for yourself. Greg

Brilliant work if carried out to the full. Everyone wanted costs cut at NZRB and now RITA are carrying out those wishes. As they say "you reap what you sow" . Bring on the moaners now that costs have been cut. You cant have it both ways and those that think so are the biggest clowns on the planet. I'm sure ,Chief,Curious and Rod will have lots to say , contrarians are like that Greg -

I notice that on both channels you are quite vocal about the abilty or otherwise of Winston's appointments. Surely you and other battling trainers should be worried more about your own business acumen going forward and seeking guidance if necessary?? Blaming others is a quick road to failure no matter what business you are in. Greg -
So that rational visitors to the site dont take any notice of your stupid post which was that lockdown in NZ would have little or no effect on the NZ economy. To quote you "Who cares - I'm not even interested in the virus. I'm interested in the economic impacts. The lockdown won't have any." You seem to be confused, you say your interested in economic impacts but in very next sentence say there wont be any. Then you say in a following post I will let others decide whose on the right side of this discussion if that's the right adjective Greg
