  1. The support McGrath gets from me is due to the absolute farce INCA has been and the fact no one should be subjected to the harassment he has. At the end of it they found SFA. I hope he appeals. If he doesn't have the finance to do so then I'm happy to organise the fund raising. If laws are not fairly applied then that is no good to anyone.
  2. What's your point? Other than shit stirring.
  3. Why was she asked? Did Van Beyen do a call round and that's all that would have a negative opinion?
  4. Honest John said it and you immediately agreed with him.
  5. What's the message? The article has very little substance to it especially to support the attention gathering headline of "From Champ to Cheat." Van Beyen would be better to redirect his investigative journalism skills (he has a reputation for sensationalism though) to telling the story of what an absolute farce and waste of money and Police resources the INCA investigation has been.
  6. Well I think you need to put your bias aside which is motivated by your unfathomable belief that the industry is riddled with cheats. Take your Murphy Blinds off and look at the facts. McGrath - wasn't convicted of race fixing. McGrath - the RIU had zero evidence of him tubing a horse with a performance enhancing substance on race day. As for House - there is an old saying about those who point the finger are deflecting the attention away from themselves.
  7. All good. We can get away with that in NZ - harder in Australia. Essentially using racing to get a horse to optimum fitness and maybe snagging a piece of a stake on the way. Not exactly something the punters like but great if you are "close" to a stable!
  8. I'm not belittling training a horse. I have been involved in hands on doing it. My experience is the foundation to successful training of a horse is animal husbandry. Keep the animal healthy while training it to maximise its potential. That potential is largely genetic plus attitude. Also identifying an individuals requirements and refining you overall techniques relative to that horse. If Saundry doesn't know how long it takes to fit a horse then how can he even hope to schedule race meetings to meet demand.
  9. That's half the problem with DHB administrators they know zilch about the clinical side - which is why I suggest they are crap managers. I'm sure Freda and Pitty would appreciate their chosen careers being compared to that of a heart surgeon! No disrespect to either of those two but training a horse isn't exactly rocket science. If Saundry seriously didn't know how long it takes to get a horse race fit he was either taking the piss or should look for another job.
  10. FFS part of his job IS understanding how racehorses are trained. I would have thought after he involvement in Victoria Racing he would know by now!
  11. Yet you reckoned he should have got "10 years"!!!
  12. Are you illiterate? Or haven't you read anything about the case? My point was if he "deserved 10 years" as Old Whiteman suggests then he would have had to have been a leading pin in the drug underworld. Obviously with all the covert surveillance they did there wasn't any evidence to support that. The Judge didn't let him off - a plea bargain was done which obviously ALL parties including the Police and the RIU agreed to. I'd say by this stage the Police had had a gutsful of the whole INCA farce and other charges were dropped. If the evidence pointed to Anderson being a big drug dealer THEN he would have been nailed! The bargain was that his misdemeanour would be dealt with by the JCA. Which it was. Preceding that Grimstone tries to save face for his role in the whole INCA debacle by attempting to interrogate Anderson to get him to snitch. Anderson as he was entitled to do said go get fucked in the nicest possible way by saying nothing as advised by his lawyer.
  13. And what was her motivation? Another exaggerated shyte article from The Press.
  14. Hardly "dealing." Providing a few pills to some mates. He was charged with intent to supply. If he was a big dealer then the Cops would have nailed him in Court. So given the amount of covert surveillance undertaken looking for something else at the urging of the RIU they got fuck all really. Which means even with the help of the cops they are incompetent or there was sweet fuck all to find.
  15. You lot training Quarter horses now? Or would rather race for stakes than get your horses fit first?
  16. Never held Chris Johnson back and is his game the seat is a lot smaller in size an a lot less stable! Not that I'm condoning it at all!! However I do remember some of the summer circuit days where the day between two race days was a huge piss up over a round or two of golf. I'm sure if some of the drivers had been breathalysed the next day the results wouldn't have been pretty!
  17. I disagree - 10 years would have been way over the top. His sentence was fair. Six months loss of income is quite a penalty for the crime he committed. Ecstasy (MDMA) is a common party drug used by the young. Its effects on his performance would have been minimal to zero if he used it has he said he did. Its effect is quite short in duration and has a short half life. It would have been unlikely to pick up by doing a blood test on raceday if he had used it as he said the night before. Not that it is an excuse but also bear in mind that he only got caught through Operation Inca which was looking for something else - what exactly we are not sure! I felt the Judge was fair too in discharging without conviction recognising that a criminal conviction for a relatively minor offence would end his career. What's happened to Rasmussen? Doesn't she face a similar charge?
  18. What's the impact on NZ racing quality?
  19. FFS I'm at the local and decided to have a couple of bets. Shit the update on the website and app is crap. Everyone else agrees. OK only a sample size of 8 but....
  20. They've dumbed it all down and forgotten it is a sport. Sure have the option for people to bet on that crap is you wish but don't televise it back to back. Put some sport back into the sport of racing. Otherwise it is no more than televised Pokies.
  21. It's ok Whiplash in case you didn't know we are no longer in lockdown. So you can leave your cabin.
  22. Which wouldn't have been uncovered unless the RIU Grim Reaper hadn't had his police mates looking for something else. I don't think there are any left!
  23. Is that in relation to the drug charges or something else? In the JCA report it says other charges before the Courts have been withdrawn.
  24. Another home goal by the RIU? All that work and all they got by chance was someone selling some drugs?
  25. I wonder what the horse thinks this racing business is all about. Must be getting a bit boring for it going round and round and round and round - follow follow follow follow...
