  1. Surely they could do an upgrade without forcing you to log in again. You don't get any warning either on your phone. Although they have done some better contrast colour changes on a smart phone navigation has got worse - menu tabs etc. I suppose and other good thing is they must have some money to change things for no reason at all.
  2. The point I was making is for the money spent on this horse - for 25% of that you could guarantee a winner.
  3. Good point. I would have never heard of the horse until Brodie mentioned it. Not sure that is a good thing though.
  4. I doubt they are in the black.
  5. LOL - I'd be happy to take half the money they have spent to date and show them a damn sight more fun. Hell even with a quarter of it I'd guarantee them the ownership in a winner!
  6. LOL - I was just thinking through the list of trainers excuses I've heard over the years. Maybe the trainer is saying - "He's definitely a Cup horse we just haven't figured him out yet."
  7. I wondered why you were called Rusty!
  8. Geezus! Lighten up! It was tongue in cheek! I can't think of any reason why anyone would want the horse in the field! It doesn't help with the quality of our racing or the punting product. If you want to have fun watching your horse go round put in a race where no one is serious. Better still tie it to a Merry-go-Round! My point is they may as well race for nothing because they haven't earn't anything!! At least they wouldn't have to pay for nominations and acceptances (do we still have those?)!
  9. In my opinion the system shouldn't allow the Owner to race the horse. I understand it barely qualified to race not that you need to do much nowadays to qualify. Hasn't returned anything to the punter at all and is obviously not up to being competitive. Yet the system allows it to race. Why? To make up field numbers? So it can get in the way of better horses and improve the odds for the TAB? If the owners want to race their horse for ZERO return and pay all the bills for years why not let them "race" in a non-tote non-stakes race on raceday? If it wins or runs second in one of those then it can get a "real" raceday start. Boy those days of where we struggled to get a start because there were horses who had better qualifying times or better form.
  10. I thought this new fandangled system auto set the odds.
  11. "Sure Grim. You can work in my stable for a month or two. The hours are long and the pay is shit and the early morning starts are a bummer. Oh and you have to bring your own morning tea. But you might know first hand when we have one lined up to win at a decent price."
  12. May be I watch too many CSI type programmes on TV. But if McGrath is such a cheating bastard as the RIU would have us believe (afterall they've led a concerted campaign to rub him out) why didn't they agree to a plea bargain? "Nigel we'll cut you some slack in time off if you tell us how all these cheats are getting round our testing regime?" "We don't want you to be a snitch but it's obvious our testing systems are shit. We just want to know how it is done."
  13. Doesn't seem to have affected their racing that much.
  14. Probably got motion detectors and intrusion alarms.
  15. Obviously our training lot are more intelligent.
  16. No but didn't the RIU push for 10 years?
  17. Watching far too much CSI. Assumes the "cheaters" don't watch the same programmes. A few burner cell phones and it's all sweet.
  18. Obviously you backed something else.
  19. TAB NZ no longer have ANY control over race dates. There focus is maximising revenue with what they are given by the codes.
  20. Yes you have to wait for a bit but there is a trick to manipulating that. But I've long given up betting on the NZ TAB regularly. "You know the odds - beat them elsewhere"!
  21. Depends if you do it through a pub TAB operator or the self service machines. I have seen the latter minimise the odds without knowing who you are. I guess that is what is motivating them to get rid of the pub operator terminal. Have watched some punters place bets through their account on the phone but suddenly nip up to do it through the operator.
  22. You must be considered a VIP mug. Last week I got the Deposit $30 and get a $20 bonus bet. I love it. Deposit $30 and it becomes a TAB liability look for a good bet. Use the $20 bonus bet. Most times I get a win. Even if I don't I take the $30 back out and wait for the next incentive to have a free bet.
  23. Yes in the first instance in is up to each racing code body. BUT.....there is an option to create a body called Racing New Zealand. An over arching organisation comprised of the three codes, sports and an independent turkey. They'll sit round and say what happens as a group doing trade off's. It isn't the same as the old NZRB because the TAB has been separated from it to focus solely on revenue generation.
  24. I think under the restructure this the last time RITA has a say on race dates. Next time it is solely in the hands of each Racing Codes admin body. For harness that will be HRNZ.
  25. Ummmm for TCO2? Really?
