    You miss my point. If an additional race is added on a SATURDAY shouldn't it have the same stake. That's the mockery.

    But doesn't it make a mockery of the Saturday vs mid week differential? Wouldn't it have been better for all if the $10k + $22k was split i.e. $16k for both races?

    Looks like Holden lost the first round of negotiations under the new regime. Are the other codes being treated the same with regard to payment timing? Would tend to indicate that the TAB still has cash flow issues.

    I think you will find crap fields week after week at the same location will have a greater impact on harness betting than any perceived integrity issues. If we are talking about perceptions what message does a field full of horses from one stable send to punters?

    Must be more. One Bowman admits deliberately giving the other horse a nudge and two the angle of his horse is extreme.

    Correct if I'm wrong but wasn't Kelly Evander a trotter? She stopped at 42 starts. Little Miss again a trotter but at least had a couple of placings.

    I agree. It is a sweepstakes race and Vela and breeders can fund it all themselves. Afterall they benefit the most.

    They are slack. They are not measured to a standard. Subsequently standards aka quality declines.

    I see where NZTR have said publicly that they can absorb the $1.7m in noms/acceptance fees because there will BE LESS RACES THIS SEASON. Which supports the theory that the only way they can continue with the same stakes structure is by reducing the number of races. Which means less money distributed to the masses. However that will still be skewed towards the elite.
