  1. Congratulations to Andrew who was simply the most consistent over the 4 heats.
  2. Points after tonights heat: Andrew Fitsgerald - 12 Frank Phelan - 9 J.K. - 8 Sheryl Wigg 7 Paul Wallace - 4 Neil Munro - 3 Warren Rich - 2 Blair Wilmot - 1 Remaining four - nil points 2 heats at Rangiora Sunday to complete series
  3. What is best - an amateur 3 or 4 wide getting in the race or a professional ducking for the markers 4 deep where horses chances immediately extinguished. Amateurs don't get paid a driving fee
  4. Wet track made no difference to horses - times run show you that (1 NZ Record) Alex Park surface always fast when wet - don't believe conditions as stated by the stipes. Perhaps best description was "Slushy but fast" The good drivers are aware of this and adjust accordingly.

Boring for you Roman - not boring for Krug's connections!!
  6. Not betting. No Hawera, no Easter punting!

    Hawera

Rubbish, Jonny. Hasn't been a problem in the past so why now. My answer is to simply place no bets over Easter. Just a token reaction.
  8. Bought at Sth Island sales and broken in down there. Yes, majority will come north when ready but some could be qualified and given first starts down there. Most of their northern sourced youngsters broken in by Brent Donnelly.
  9. And still the bonus (free) bets rain down upon us. Do nothing for the Industry. Just help make the turnover look rosier than it is. Until those in charge start running the place on facts and not on dreams, the industry will continue to head in the same direction. I hope the Minister of Racing realises that the RIB/TAB etc. have all tried to run the show with accountants and all attempts at such have failed dismally.
  10. and don't forget his sister - they a great team.
  11. So you know which horses are doped and which are not - interesting!

  16. From this weeks report Auckland TC - Friday, 5th March 2021 Race 4 - CROMBIE LOCKWOOD BL'STOCK DELIGHTFUL LADY CLASSIC MOB PACE Stewards concluded the adjourned investigation into the incident entering the first turn. After hearing the relative evidence of S Phelan (ARTISAN), T Macfarlane (KACHING KACHING), B Mangos (DANCE TILL DAWN) and viewing the replays, it was established that ARTISAN had shifted inwards when racing to the inside of DANCE TILL DAWN and locked sulky stays with KACHING KACHING resulting in both these runners breaking. Blame could not be solely attributed to any individual driver or horse and no further action was taken other than to note the circumstances. Trainer T Macfarlane advised Stewards on 11 March that KACHING KACHING had recovered well and would be continuing with its preparation.
  17. Rogie got tipped out of the cart at the Pirongia picnic meeting a few years ago and solemly declared "thats the last time I do this". He has upheld his "threat" since - mind you I dont know whether he has a jaunt around his track at home!

  21. Clubs averse to running Juniors races in north simply due to fact that there are only 9 registered juniors domiciled in the North and for instance if one of these happens to be unavailable the pool is very skinny.

  23. I suppose if the whole field was from the same stable - a la the Coles in the hounds - you would still bleat about "team driving"
  24. Due to covid restrictions it was a fairly inexperienced stipendiary panel harnesswise considering it was a premier meeting. Only one of them a regular harness stipe and he fairly new to stiping.
