She Can Do it . And do it impressively. What a performance last night !! Rocketing home from the back of the field turning for home in a Group 1 $200,000 Queen Liz mile breaking the 1.50 barrier too. Simply stunning , running down near the best mare in Australia in 'Ladies In Red' of Emma Stewarts. (Ladies in Red has won 25 races , 6 x 2nds from 32 starts and won a $million) So how good is this NZ EXPRESS Train ? super good !!! kiwi lad Jack Trainor the new trainer/driver here for her , and boy is she gunna win some. Could beat Leap To Fame going like that. (Post note: Mike Tanev other expensive purchase NZ horse 'AARDIEByTheSeaside' also won very easily in Perth on Friday night at her 2nd start there to go 2 for 2 in WA ) I think Team NZ Telfer should 'take a bow' and whoever prepared those 2 x 'Aardie" mares in NZ is extremely gifted and should get a HEAP of Credit. (and a few more horses to prepare) It's a shame Canadian millionaire Tanev bought them from NZ connections ( they miss out on the fun and glory for a few bucks) with his endless budget and removed them from NZ , but those the breaks 🙄

Especially True 👍 , when you're backing them at the harness racing 😎

Just Believe in Cruise control. I can't believe he treated the defending National trot champion (2nd) and Dominion winner (3rd) with ease really. quite astounding the level that horse is at now. No wonder he's won the last 2 Interdominion series (with clean sweeps) when can sit outside muscle Mountain like that. He's got a spring in the step now. Maybe a solid Auckland Cup chance ? The Queenslander got lost again. Adam Sanderson a pretty ordinary driver here in QLD. probably only about 20th ranked in my opinion in Queensland , let alone nationally. Where-as Greg Sugars is probably 2nd best driver in the whole nation (after Cam Hart) and is getting good results year to year with Just Believe and Better Eclipse. old NNNzzer 'Triple Eight' had a big career in NZ before joining him. He tries hard and is a bit like Mach Shard really. just needs the right tempo and late work into it.. Greg has won 3 out of 11 starts with Triple Eight this year for $60k so not too bad. Better Eclipse only has the one win this year for $60k from 5 starts himself. he did get about $100k 2nd to Leap To Fame in the Interdom in Dec so not too shabby. It's super tough in that FFA grade anytime .

Crystal does the job. A perfect drive from the young lady for another Group 1. Better Eclipse and Self Assured towed up by Crystal but she fought them off. Great job Mach Shard 🏆. paid over $20 on the 3 Aussie totes. Wonder if get more respect in the Auckland Cup now ? as for Nat, she was death DSD seating from the 2nd row 😎. young Crystal getting the job done better than the old girl these days ? 👍😆😉 Funny how not many wait for Mark to take off anymore with backmarkers. He's running 2nd a lot of times lately.

About to go lads . the 2024 edition. An Aussie Trifecta ? who's going Nat from Greg and Adam (just Gamma ?😁) Merlin owned by the Big Aussie man. maybe claim him too for the First 4 . Race should be traditional and just for 4 year olds afterall. Merlin and DSD and the ' Jolie 'one are the 4 year olds . So it would be justice if they ran the Trifecta 💰💰💰🏆.

The Anti-Te Akau Thread aka the Anti-Syndicators Thread.
Gammalite replied to Chief Stipe's topic in Galloping Chat
Thanks for that TABman. some great info. Don't some of these jumpers (and thoroughbreds) have interesting histories? . They are amazing animals and jetsetters too a lot of them. I thought i'd seen FORTUNA before somewhere. Melody Belle got me a huge prize one day winning the Empire Rose on Derby Day as plucked a Big6 so am quite fond of her lol. 😁. She was back 4th last turning in amidst the big field of mares , on a soggy Flemington , but joined in like a machine and powered away. I still get goose bumps with that win by her. 🏇🏆 -
The Anti-Te Akau Thread aka the Anti-Syndicators Thread.
Gammalite replied to Chief Stipe's topic in Galloping Chat
Well the Te Akau 'LEADERBOARD syndicate' is quite happy anyway. If you can't win a flat race just stick em' over the fences. Te Akau can do the lot ?😁 today the Old Te Akau horse Leaderboard just won easily at Warrnambool over the hurdles at his 3rd Jumps attempt for Walker and Kuru. nice going at 8-1 odds 👍💰 Bolted away with it too. Te Akau can syndicate a few jumpers now ? excellent stuff. -
He had a Winter campaign in Brisbane last Winter. 11 starts for 1 win and 10 unplaced runs. Because the FFA class in Brisbane is quite strong really. they really rattle along fast. can't remember what he paid in that win but would of been BIG odds (beat a Grimson runner) old kiwi Auckland Cup winner is always hard to beat >>Turn It Up . one of the best here. His last start in Queensland Mach Shard was 5th to another old kiwi 'Hot and Treacherous' . who seems a fair sort of horse. Probably about same ability as Mach Shard I spose. going way back Mach Shard ran a Place in the Interdominion Grand Final at Auckland , so that is a great feat, so is a better horse going around right handed it seems ?
-
well done sticking with this horse. A good field defeated today , with Not just Dunns to beat like he had to do at the West Coast. He beat some Addington Allstars and Telfer handy runners too. So Mo'unga might turn in to an Addington horse himself? going great guns !👍
-
big odds here on the QLD TAB. wonder what he paid there? quite sensational to come from the back lie that and take the Win. a Best you can Get field too. Barry has the last laugh over Marks stable yet again 😁. Nat got hung out to dry 3 wide the last lap with Don'r Stop Dreaming. Kango having a real crack for glory but not quite up to it shoved her out there. He is turning into the ultimate 2nd Place getter !! Probably the first Group 1 win for Crystal Hackett . Congratulations young Lady !!! 🏆

they'll have a barbie togeather and just all get on with it. Accusations are nothing new. Proving with evidence is the hard bit. no one tells the real story lol . NZ is Fantasy Island isn't it ? where dreams come true .

What a pleasant surprise to see a BIG races go to a good horseman who never seems to get much credit. With Allstars, Big Bar, Dunns and Telfers winning a heap of the listed races with their BIG owners is nice to see a smaller stable do well. Matthew White been driving well and can obviously train well as well !!! well done young fella .🏆👍 PARAMOUNT KIWI trotting beautifully and Winning the 3 year old trotting Million just now. A good 1st prize for him I hope. Taylor Mile Up soon. Are you blokes on the 2 Aussies ? 😎. Let em' rip .!!! or sticking with the master Blaster young Mark drawn 2. ?

McGrath was a result?. and people are wasting $10 million on yearlings alone these these days 😁 and $55 million on track surfaces ? seems to have gone a bit haywire too. What price to force good honest racing ?

Nearly ALL stables 'do' something LO that pushes the boundaries. whether it be in a race or treatment of horses whatever . galloping and trotting. big or small stable. No excuse to break the rules whichever is the case. You are a bit soft in NZ . In QLD we don't muck around . Leading trainer/ driver Shane Graham did 2 years fixing a midweeker. Grant Dixon had his wife Trista given a year DQ for team driving. there's the Pitt and Jack 'affair' of course. and even recently some of the BEST trainers in the country were given Time-Out. Kerry-anne Morris, even the very Best of the Best EMMA STEWART given 6 months . and don't get me started on Ben Yole in Tassie 🤢 . 😂 what an abortion of all rules that situation is. the Supreme court has currently dumped him 'out' again. but he'll back like the fricken Terminator. He terminates a lot of the trotting ethics and nice horse's anyway 🤕. you guys have just gone all woosey and won't dump anyone out. Well ya did get those Kerr, Alford and Jones Scoundrels in the end . so Progress is Being Made !! keep it up . get Inca back ? lol 😂
-
You guys are really funny. For years I have read on these threads accusations and heaps of grizzling of team driving , race fixing, drugged horses in NZ on these forums . You have an investigation to catch some of the culprits (Mc Grath caught red-handed) and grizzle all the more 😂. Reputation Damaged you say ? by the Investigation ? lol. I think Alford and Jones and characters like that are the one's who damaged the Reputation of the harness Industry. Not the people trying to keep it clean . You NEED them , more than anything . I once travelled with a horse at trials in NZ and it raced as another (different name). To hide the name of the one that actually started in the trial and won easy. Was given a solid hit-out to see ok out of mobile and that . (was all good and duly saluted first up not long after at nice odds for the owner) Anyway a leak made it's way to the stewards from something I said to someone, and they arrived in bulk (4 of them piling out a car) at the home stables the next day questioning and investigating the incident. I just said "I'm only a teen kid mate, I don't know one horse from another" . nothing they can do about that lie. I felt bad what can you do. we were cheating. so nothing could be done after the fact anyway. but that's the way it is. Investigators NEVER get straight answers mates. What a tough job . and all you guys want to do is shoot some-one because they couldn't shoot down the industry heavyweights. GREAT that they didn't get anyone (except McGrath who had a chequered history) . But GREAT they were there to try and uncover the truth . Keep up the good clean racing NZ !!!!

She did in fact start last Friday . AardieByThe Seaside won first up easy enough in a $75,000 Fillies and mares open . she had brilliant New Zealand form last year I see as well. 8 wins from 13 runs. Any idea of the Sale price for a good mare like that ? (The million dollar plus Nullibor slot-race was run last Friday too in WA. Minstrel part owned by Robin and jackie Butt ran 2nd and picked up $200,000. ) winner was Kate Gath with last years Miracle Mile winner Catch A Wave.

yes 👍💰. one of the All time great Melbourne Cups. won by u-beaut champ Ethereal . Sheila Laxon training the Big Caulfield Cup - Melbourne Cup double. (also a BMW in Sydney town) ( NZ Mare Verry Elleegant Winning both races too. in different years.) Ethereal mows down Give The Slip here in the last few metres of 2001 Cup after Give The Slip had 'given them all the slip' and was 6 lengths in front at the 200 😁 . great win for Sheila Laxon . The first Lady Trainer in history to Win the Melbourne Cup. fantastic for NZ . Need Freda to have a go now ? 🏆 maybe Orchestral will get stronger too ?
-
haha 😆 just kidding Chief. plenty of runs scored so you'll never catch up 😂. Sunline of course trained throughout by the McKee family and as well as the Big Aus wins , took a Hong Kong Mile crown too. (and 3rd in Dubai) . whatta beauty she was. One of the true great NZ racehorses. Hey at the same time , another NZ trained mare was racing in Aus and thumping out some big Staying victories including a handy 'double'. Loved her heaps, and hope she won some races in NZ as well. Can you think who that might be ? 👍
-
You guys sure didn't get to see the great mare much in NZ. The great mare had those 3 x 2 year old starts back in 1998. 2 x 3 year old handicaps (Hastings and Ellerslie) the year after Then 2 x Breeders stakes at Puke, 2 x Waikato sprints at Te Rapa Sunline Won All 9 of those over a 4 year period. ... so a bit light on the racing in NZ bit.? Just as well Melody Belle came along to entertain the locals there a bit. Maybe Sunline's an 'honorary Aussie' like VE ? 😎👍🇦🇺

Yes , we didn't see Frankel out this way , but renowned horse people like expert Francesca Cumani for example , rated him the best she ever saw when she presenting opinion down here for the Feature races. seems he would be too good. Black Caviar is always worth a mention mate 😁 . ( the Aussie equal of Imperatriz I spose ) and as for Winx , would of been great to take her on with Verry Elleegant . She wasn't scared of a good mile gallop and could take it out to 2 miles and win a Melbourne Cup . ( and beat the highly rated and lowly rated UK imports with regularity. A real shame about the Northern Hemisphere bid too late in her career , after she had "given it everything she's got Captain" as Scotty would say to Kirk on Star Trek for all those years. 😂 .
-
Black Caviar doesn't deserve a slap in the face mate. She went her whole career undefeated and took the trip to Royal Ascot , starting not fully fit from aches and pains, and even turned off the gas by rider Nolan a bit short of the line , when clear of the field. (huge field of quality International runners it was too) For years now UK horses have been turning up winning some of the features . Not all are successful but some have plucked some of the big prizes. since WINX won her 4 Cox Plates , (the biggest middle distance race we have Southern Hemisphere) 2 Asian horses have turned up and won lately, and we had three lower rated UK horses win the event as well . 'ADELAIDE and SIR DRAGONET and STATE OF REST all winning the Cox Plate in very recent years . they only won 4 or 5 races each in their Entire Racing careers as UK middle distance imports. and yet were Hammering out Cox Plate victories.😂 so we were lucky the best ranked horses didn't turn up as you say🤣. (footnote. The old Shiekh mohammed's BENBATL did turn up , bred at his Darley stud, and try and knock off Winx. His highest ranking was about 10th in the world , so pretty good. and ran a gallant 2nd in the 2018 Cox plate, but it's a win for the locals in the WFA feature for a change 🏆👍) long may she reign !! or not .
-
That was super impressive. Good call on her winning Mr Galah. 55 half out of the gate with a death seat 54 second last 1/2 mile . just incredible they can run 1.49 miles like that and win easy these days. That one Aardie's Express will win plenty. Big spending Canadian millionaire owner Mike Tanev has a good one there for sure. Think he sold 1/2 of the other one AardieByTheSeaside to the Bond Team in WA and it's gone over there. yet to start. Interesting the other mare's race tonight went to the Queenslander. 'Girl from Rosedale' in 1.51. after a few handy Brisbane runs for Ryan in Veivers in 1.53 lately. picks up a win over Grimson and Trainor at Menangle ? which is a bit of a surprise. they sure rattle along now. Grimson's 2 runners tonight both 2nd then , to the QLDer visitor and the 'Express' new arrival you pointed out. that'll annoy him lol.

Emma did get the 6 months DQ last year. somehow got a stay for a few weeks approved, until her hearing date in March recently. But no-where has posted a result of that hearing? . Very poor really . just like they trying to hide it or something. Emma Still seems to be involved Heavily as has several chances in several races worth Hundreds of thousands of 💰💰💰 tonight. she doesn't want to miss out on that 😂. maybe she got off? hey watch out for old mate Grant tonight. This QLD bloke is pretty good in race 6 at Melton, FATE AWAITS. he's no Leap To fame or anything but bowling along well and won his 3 starts so far by a combined 20 lengths. so he's popped down to Vic to try and nab another Big prize tonight.

Here's One of the All time greats winning 50 years ago . The same year the Commonwealth Games were in Christchurch and Dick Taylor won the 10,000 m and Sir John Walker ran 2nd in the 1500m. (to Bayi in WR time) all about a month before RED RUM won at Aintree (for 2nd year running to be a true great) to be a Grand National Champion.. you have to be kidding that was half a century ago . some great events of all time that still stand out after all those years. seems like just a short time ago but time waits for no-one . Neither does Red Rum when he got going lol. a
