The animal abuse in China is on such a massive scale it makes Japanese whaling look like casual Sunday fisherman. Bears are in cages so tight for 'medicinal ' purposes and all that sort of thing and farming livestock husbandry is atrocious. You wouldn't send them a horse for all the tea in China . (Tea is mainly India anyway π) the human rights abuse in China is Staggering. they don't look after themselves properly let alone the animals , and lives are dime a dozen to the 'authorities'. anyone speaks out about it/anything are detained and sent to Massive internment camps , formed in about 2017 to date and are currently holding millions , for 'Re-Education purposes' as the government listed reason.π when really they are just slave work camps . Appalling on a scale greater than WW2 Germany. The horse conditions must be quite bad , and you would/could/should not sell the lovely animals from beautiful NZ into such a strange and bizarre ending that they are meeting in China.

Looked like every other race finish to a Group race with them all doing their best.
-
he's doing fantastic and bringing them (low class horses) through the grades too. and a GROUP 1 this week too with the Great Northern Oaks. a very impressive effort. All You Need Is Me was super impressive and could have a 'Milwood Nike' winning type of year , sweeping all the Fillies races. Is that the first Group 1 win for Carter do you know Brodster? or Ranga might know. think Blair was driving Krug all the time ? and TonyH won the GN Derby driving it (when it bolted that time)

I see your ENTAIN TAB mate Big Dean has taken the Derby again TABman . as he tries to strengthen the North with stacks of horses at Barry's. COLD CHISEL (now that's a good Aussie name π) winning the Great northern Derby well , after beautiful trip in the trail from good draw. QLDer Dean will be beaming with delight ! and thinking NZ Derby now , as he won both the Derbies with good horse 'Merlin' last year. Great to see he has Put the 'North Island' back on the NZ map ! π (great wins in the Oaks and FFA to those firey Southerners though with Adore Me's foal for Carterπ and the potential Akld and NZ Cup winner in 'Don't Stop Dreaming' π)

thought they were driving very passively at Auckland too Brodster. Republican Party should of been up outside Don't Stop Dreaming (who was in the parked out position) at the quarter , when they really quickened up . they are Fast Class Cup horses. and dawdled down the back straight in 29 seconds ,second last quarter and NO ONE went up to look at Kango ? before turning for home even? Absolute Gift for Natalie just cruised on past Kango up the home straight . Blair gave his horse no chance of getting anywhere near them . ? Natalie Not so Lucky in the GN Derby though. ? stable-mate road block lol...ππ

We still have 4 TAB's operating in Australia.π. not a hope there will be a National pool. State governments all want their cut of the HUGE Gambling pie so there is fierce rivalry. Each State of Australia virtually runs itself via state Government. we rarely have Federal help. so the states are like 7 different countries really. at the moment Entain runs On-line Bookmaking and controls 'Ladbrokes' and 'Neds' brands on-line in Australia to make their money. SUPER-TAB or S-Tab is Victoria and ACT customers U-TAB (formally Tattsbet then U-Bet until recently ) is Queensland, Tasmania, South Australia, and Northern Territory customers combined. TAB-Corp is NSW. and they run/own SKY racing. Interestingly, advertising of Ladbrokes and Neds is banned in NSW pubs where TAB is , and they actually pull the plug on SKY to them after ENTAIN had made a deal with the NSW Hotel Association that TAB-Corp didn't like. (They are all desperate for all the losing dollars lol...π it's totally crazy here the gambling market lol) WA-Tab in west Australia is state government owned and is separate again. They also run the on-line betting service of TAB-TOUCH ....which has the same divvies as you get in New Zealand , so perhaps that is the one that is connected to you guys??? . Sportsbet, TAB-Corp and ENTAIN all tried to buy WA TAB for a billion , during COVID, but it fell through and ENTAIN bought NZ TAB instead.

Speaking of the owner/trainer/driver of Trotters taking on the professional drivers. The 3 of them in race 2 at Addington tonight nearly ran the TRIFECTA against all the Pro's.π Ross Houghton (1st) , Alan Clark (3rd) and Murray Howard (4th) all doing a great job in the big field of trotters with only Tim Williams on the favourite 'Father Time' getting amongst them. thought the First4 paying under $2000 was a bit smallish ...

You gotta get em moving Thomass mate . Bit of Aussie training . (luv your work Hugh π₯°) And a Bit of quiet Thomass Nz training

plenty of owners have driven their trotters over the years. Wonder if you remember trotter Dragon's Pride. He was a handy young horse by Game pride that in the South Island won quite a few as a 3 year old . Bought for Big Money by top Auckland Committee man Noel Taylor , and the Prime Minister Sir Robert 'piggy' Muldoon !! National party he was from memory and PM for a lot of years. they put the horse with Roy and Barry Purdon and it wouldn't fire a shot π«€. a Huge surprise. So Noel took it on himself , and drove it, and trotted to some good results and then 2nd in the Rowe Cup to Basil Dean I think, where he had started using Wolfie, then Tom Knowles, and Tony Herlihy, Jim Cole, even Graeme Harris had a crack (Harris still racing horses here in Brissy) and they got a few good results here and there. *Was funny at the time as virtually no-one improved anything on Roy .. but Dragon's Pride did.

often the jocks pop out and have a look on the 'Fast' Aus tracks too TABman . I'm pretty sure they're looking for the Fast-lane up the home straight. tiz all. like is it better to come at em' 6m out or 10 m out , or just stick to the fence sort of thing ....πππ° Funny true story. We have little problem at the trots with the surface but in my days training, I was at Albion Park every day training horses on the main track , and mentioned to the track staff one day, that I though the camber flattened a little just at the 400m when you were trying to wind your horse up a bit...... and next second the Fricken Big grader was out there and 'getting the banking' going lol. thought I was at Daytona Speedway on the Saturday night !! lol π . (but not winning still πͺ) Jimmy Johnson or Earnhardt still getting the money lol π

Not sure who you're flying as Wingman for .. but I can say I have found TABman to be very knowledgeable and quite forthright on his observations and experience in the industry and very positive on his outlook for NZ racing. and not using sarcasm at all (un-like your great Thomass man). perhaps you are his Wingman. spotting the problems for him lolπ watch out for that extra whip strike or 2 in those big races. anyway TABman has great manners compared to the many snipers and poppy choppers that frequent these sites.. and IMO you are all right in a way. Sure .. some of the tracks have good patches and bad patches .nothing new there. You just get the track staff to deal with it best they can. Sure... sometimes the tote figures or race attendances aren't great ... But sometimes they Are. and sometimes the racing is great too. Now ... back to the Footy lol. π₯±π

haha yeah ,,those 2 on the inside of Marky Boy there picked up over 1/4 million just last weekend for the BIG Entain boss as well at Menangle. That will help the Canterbury Breeders as BIG Dean will be back (would of been back recently at the Canterbury yearling sales ) and buying up a Heap more of the nice Southern Stock... Merlin having a crack at the race by Grins soon? mad if they don't.

yeah part of a great run for the Southerners in the supposed Great 'Northern' Derby. Saw a few live ones while in Auckland. and always won by the Southerners !! All 6 of them. 'Amrbro Wings ' at big odds I think, won it the year after Matai Dreamer for a BIG SOUTHland Double for the Milne clan of the deep south , way up in the North ..lol π. followed by Melton Monarch, Mighty Me , Mel's Boy, Royden Glen and finally Nardinski over the following years . southern invaders everywhere like white ants π
-
Reckon Blair was just trying to drive with horse straight while galloping to not interfere with anyone. John Dunn did smile at his own good fortune though π. Isn't it Tim Williams his main driver mate anyway? The 2nd race was funny with the $1.60 favourite from the pole, not able to come out of the mobile at all well... for Ben Hope and ended up 5 back the fence . Never much chance from there. Ricky May couldn't be bothered waiting and 'carting it up' late in the race either, while driving on the HOPE team stable-mate and ran on well himself for 2nd place. Sam Ottley too good these days though . always great to back her on the grass.
-
These guys picked Up 'Dreams Are Free' for $60,000 ? . wow ! what a great buy π° . being by Captain Treacherous and all . ......older half brother 'Don't Stop Dreaming' may have been unraced at the time of those sales which might have helped with bargain price.

maybe this one lol ? to win the GN Derby a while back . (if you mean potential Derby Winners ) Ranga probably too young to remember this bloke π.

Can Grimson pull off another miracle with kiwi horse.
Gammalite replied to Gammalite's topic in Trotting Chat
Think you are on the right track with that. Jack Trainor is in the Magic Team as well. Punters in Aus pretty much ignoring other runners when these lads are up to their tricks. Race 6 coming up see's the Seaton Grima runner blowing from $2.20 fav out to $3.40 and the Grimson horse Lou's Dream firming $4.60 in to $2.70 . Probably a good price with Hart on ??? everything else I'd double figures. Seems another GRIM win coming Up. -
Can Grimson pull off another miracle with kiwi horse.
Gammalite replied to Gammalite's topic in Trotting Chat
I took 80-1 in a PICK 4 earlier with him. The next 3 are a sneaky NZ horse Grimson chance at 25-1 for the treble Races 5 , 6 and 7. YouTakeMyBreathAway NZ into Lou's Dream NZ into Mister Robin Hood NZ. Cam Hart driving Dieing Art in race 5 , instead of Grimson's is a worry , so should take it too. -

Chief is still attending meetings mate . and has often supported some of NZ's best in Veerry Elleegant and the Te Akau runners amongst others (and controversies) He does however hate Track surfaces π π. Nothing wrong with old school warriors remembering the good times too. here or anywhere. If you haven't got History... What have You Got ? everyone should enjoy some history (hopefully) unless they were locked in a cell with Thomass or something. that would be tough to take lol. π Onwards to some more great racing today !!

The filly went well Cyril. a great 3rd to fellow Southerner All youNeedIsMe of Carter's. But wow .. he's de-railed the triple Purdon Threat in the boys division. Not many can do that...π³ vvv 1st 4 DREAMS ARE FREE NATHAN WILLIAMSON FT 6.00 2.00 5.40 3.00 2nd 6 COLD CHISEL ZACHARY BUTCHER FT 1.65 1.60 3rd 5 MAJOR HOT TONY HERLIHY FT 4th 1 CHASE A DREAM MARK PURDON FT

with Addington and Auckland running tonight as well, and the John Devlin Memorial is on just now. Race 5 at Alexandra Park . JD sure had done heaps for the industry . Buying and selling and racing and wheeling and dealing. was a great man and helped me out no end. many fun days with his horses. Here's a snap of one he raced himself , the little Black Flash winning the NZ Futurity Stakes in his year in NZ . ran second to Smooth Falcon at his very first start in New Zealand too, and this photo was snapped with me about to give Vancey a workout in preparation for the Victoria Derby .Alas Another good mate in Vinny Knight beat him into 2nd , (once again with Smooth Falcon) that Vinny had picked up from NI in New Zealand as well. Vinny always incredibly hard to beat . And John Devlin ... very Hard to beat as a Top Bloke in life and harness racing. RIP 2 great men .

Hey if you guys still want a Pick 6 Option . Sign up at Sportsbet. (sorry TABman πͺ) They have a SUPER 6 at a lot of Saturday meetings . (it would be win only though, not place) Tomorrow for example, they have 'SUPER 6' all run on the last 6 races at Caulfield and RoseHill .... and then in the evening at Menangle and Melton trots. One of my mates takes combo's on these only , as his total days bets. and gets one now and then and they pay big . doesn't seem to enjoy the racing like me though. gets to wound up about the 'Money' unfortunately. I like to enjoy the racing so go steady lol....

Autumn BOAY Night of Champions Aus v Nz Competition.
Gammalite replied to Gammalite's topic in Trotting Chat
Zip this weekend TABman. Only 20k races at Menangle and Melton this week . After the excitement of the BIG Queensland Win in the million dollar Miracle Mile last week. and now they say LEAP TO FAME not going to the Race by Grins at Cambridge πͺπ. would love to have gone to see that. we'll have to see when next Nz v Aus clash is before then .
