Breaking News: ARC may not race at Ellerslie on 17 February
Gammalite replied to Chief Stipe's topic in Galloping Chat
hahaha must say though Chief it's pretty darn bumpy with the wheels. Had a crack at Hawera on the grass in the shadows of Mt egmont and it was softish , so the wheels didn't hit the hoof holes in the surface under the grass with too much bang , but was rough as guts. You got No Idea mate.......and the track at Arawa Park Rotorua was that firm , you nearly bounced right out of the gig. Had to hook the foot right through the footrest so it grabbed my ankles just to stay in the cart. was awful race. never forget it. Prayed for rain but none came. would of loved a slippery wet surface with some give in it lol 😆 -
Breaking News: ARC may not race at Ellerslie on 17 February
Gammalite replied to Chief Stipe's topic in Galloping Chat
Ellerslie looked great opening day when Merchant Queen won. The track must of been tested ? in wet and dry leading up to that with trials and that ? how do find out on race day a surface is slippery or not.?.... must of known in the lead up always a bit drizzly in Auckland and/so surely Top speed horses were tried on it while wet ? I think a race day with the very best around , going as fast as they can , are going to have the odd bit of knuckle and bump in these BIG events anyway. some are going to struggle with footing to keep up with them no matter what the conditions. there is Contact as well in high pressure races popping them off balance . quite a bit (contact) in nz racing that i see Saturdays too. -
too good mate . it's like being Sunny's sister trying to beat you , Sundees RangaSon. too big too strong.😄 The 'Tornado' winning here at Timaru I think in one of his NZ wins. Tornado Valley. One of the true great's Had about 50 starts in Aus, nearly all Group races, for 30 wins for the dynamo Kate Gath. She jumped off him just once , and Luke McCarthy drove him in the Great Southern Star 2 years ago just before the Tornado's retirement. Kate Won that race too (with Majestuoso) and the Tornado retired winning a Million 💰. What a Star . !!!! He did win 2 Great Southern Star's himself afterall 😂 Ruby's Jewel has her first foal at the races now . Just ran 3rd in the Cambridge Group 3 tonight. Majestic Ruby .

A nice trotter for today . This should be an easy one for the legend of South Island trotting Rangatira . Ranga or a trotting BOAY Fan might be able to Name this Winner ? ? Got him well beat to pick the 2nd placegetter though? .😂 Victory at Last !!

Can Grimson pull off another miracle with kiwi horse.
Gammalite replied to Gammalite's topic in Trotting Chat
Both horses winning easily again Saturday night. IllHaveABubbles by 6 lengths in 1.51 again , and paid $1.10 (couldn't win a mares metro qualifying race in QLD for previous trainer 🫤) Mister Robin Hood by 2 lengths in 1.51.8 and paid $1.20 .. improved a bit from Cambridge? lol... Golden Bay was scratched. Lou's Dream wins First up for Grimson as well to complete the BIG hat -trick of wins . Lou's Dream did win 6 of her 13 Brisbane starts I spose, so the Butler's did ok with it since it came from Williamson in the Nz deep South a year ago I guess. 1.52 neat mile tonight at $2.10 The GRIM Rocket 'Treble' if (you were daring) paid a total $2.75 all up . the legend lives on ....... -
Great run first up in Australia at Melton tonight. Don't Stop Dreaming for Mark Purdon. Beaten 1/2 head by the Interdominion runner -up BETTER ECLIPSE , who also raced well in Nz for Sugars last Autumn. The HUNTER Cup is next week. they'll both be flat out to beat the Champ Queenslander LEAP TO FAME (who is having jog wins lately at Albion) Some former Kiwi's running the First 4 in the fast class at Menangle in fine style. North Islander TAIPO winning easy , from old champ Spirit of St Louis well clear of the rest . Can you believe BOOM getting 4th ? Poor old 'Alta Orlando' stopped bad again . the Dunn owned horse sat 1-1 but couldn't go with them . he is out of tickets it seems. 1st 6 TAIPO BRAD HEWITT FT 5.70 1.80 2nd 10 SPIRIT OF ST LOUIS JACK CALLAGHAN FT 1.20 3rd 11 CANTFINDABETTORMAN LUKE MCCARTHY FT 2.00 4th 3 BOOM JIM DOUGLASS FT

Sure doing a LOT of slinging mud if that is the case. Maybe live in a COLD area of Nz and used to throwing snowballs. A nice dig at the leading stable in a sarcastic way as well . well done. What did you think about the story of the young lady (a stable foreman I think it was) that fed a horse the wrong thing recently that caused a positive at that stable too? . Shut em down you reckon ? transfer Imperatriz to Waller ? he could probably use Nature Strips old stall. Oh wait on... he had a positive swab and horses disqualified from positive 'feed' as well , and got off with a fine. Is nothing sacred anymore...

Don't know where to start with that Forb's . You sure fit the AGGRESSIVE MALE billing though. Guess a good thing you don't drive in races. Vic Rasmussen is one of the great guys of trotting , and his 3 daughters achieved Great things . Kate Gath doing a spectacular job with many diifficult trotters and also is the Current Miracle Mile champion (beating the 'Boys' on their own turf at Menangle. As for calling the greatest Family ever in New Zealand harness Racing History cheats All the bloody time , you should Hang your head in shame?. You don't even know a class Act when you see it right in front of you. Roy Purdon and his 3 sons and lovely daughter have Decades of Fine performances and wins (probably some more tonight) and you continue to Tarnish them with Stupid stuff. Get a Grip mate. Stable-mates help each other every week . countless episodes . You're pointing the Gun at the wrong people , and don't even know it. what a dick.

Has the new CEO of Albion Park left HRNZ a bit short of cash?
Gammalite replied to Chief Stipe's topic in Trotting Chat
That man can do wonders but 'Weasel' probably Not on his shopping list. 😆 He has picked up HOT And TREACHEROUS though , a fine NZ and QLD performer.... so look out for Big things in the Grand Circuit this year. . 'Hottie' lost form during a hard Interdominion Campaign in Brissy for a local trainer here , so is off to the 'GRIMSON rocket' yard now to get a Tune-up and added thrusters ..... I expect BIG things . should be A way better/faster horse than Swayzee on his day ? Swayzee won our big QLD championship $400k Group 1 race last winter (so maybe not quite as good as Swayzee yet) but Leap To Fame was 2nd in that , and HoTandTreacherous 3rd ...... so look out 'Grand Circuit' . A Swayzee / Hot and T/ Hi MynameisJeff trifecta is Looming !!! 🚀🚀🚀 -

The Real 'Weasel' is in at Redcliffe shortly racing today race 3 . Nearly the lowest assessed Pacer racing in Australia at national rated 30, as finished in back half of the field for the entirity of last season. somehow he staggered into 3rd last week , and get this >>>>>>>> He was foaled in 2006 .!!😳 so today will be race-start number 436. 😳 1 77763 WEASEL NZ John Kerr John Kerr NR30 B5 FR1 $51 -
Can't say I agree with that Forbs. Natalie Rasmussen winning everything in sight Aus and would be near the BEST i've seen in 40 years competing. and of course she went to NZ to prove it and beat up all the best there (including Mark at times lol 😂 ) Kate Gath winning with all sorts of horses in Victoria (and the last Miracle Mile to boot) and Kerryn Manning and many more. Currently 3 of Brisbanes best and leading drivers are the 3 McMullen sisters . Danielle, Narissa and Taleah beat the boys home every week and a 'real good' to use your term. There Older brother Pete McMullen shows WAY more AGGRESSION in his race drives... as The Galah has said , that is Definitely a Much more 'Male' thing in the races , and he does get results, Both ways. Aggression can lead to Wins but absolutely gets you beat a lot of the time as well . A bit like your 'BOAY posts' a lot of the time Forb's ?😂😁😎...

Can Grimson pull off another miracle with kiwi horse.
Gammalite replied to Gammalite's topic in Trotting Chat
Another show of the Grimson Style will be on display this weekend . Menangle Sat night. 2 more New Zealand breds who had one start each NZ.... then racing in QLD past year. Grimson also bringing down 'moderate performer in QLD ' LOUs DREAM' in race 2. Grimson also with 2 horses in the last race .Race 7. 'Mister Robin Hood' fresh off bold 1.50 mile last week running 2nd (and getting nothing at Cambridge through last year , 1 win to be fair) GOLDEN BAY race 7 , another Mr Boots purchase. Boots Trying for his next 'Swayzee' , and now addicted to the continual search for one 😁 lol....Golden Bay getting nothing up here in Brisbane this year in slower than 1.54 Prediction for this great trainer JGrim, is 2 wins , by average 13m margin, in 1.51.4 and a quinella to boot. (for mr Boots lol 😂) 🚀🚀😎 -

Brodster would be alright . Slow and steady off the mark . then would cruise around to the lead after he's see's this carnage up ahead from these fine BOAY competitor's . (tightening from the Galah or Mikey i suspect ) Chief caught up in the trouble too 😂. nothing unusual there 🤣 and Brodie taketh home the spoils 🏆 -

Karaka Millions - the best raceday in NZ!
Gammalite replied to TAB For Ever's topic in Galloping Chat
Love it . Is probably the ONLY sport world -wide that is enjoyed by many Kings. The scene's at Dubai , and Newmarket and Hong Kong with Shiehks, the late Queen and the richest of rich Asians at the HKJC . and they mix with the poorest of the poor with-in the racing industry (with Stablehand seen as the most Rudimentary of career options. fantastic. All of us in-betweeners can sure enjoy the middle road of great racing and the absolutely beautiful animals that run hard for our entertainment , whether it be at Kumara, Kilcoy , Birdsville, Ellerslie or Royal Randwick or Royal Ascot. and if you can't get there, lap it up on the tele !!!! brilliant . Isn't racing life great ! I'm working on plans to improve harness now, and have made great ground in Queensland. Hope NZHR can keep up with the solid Pace being set .... -

Here here Brodster. New government in place so less drama I hope. ALbion Park still going strong after Interdominion. The Constellations carnival went well and Incentives are high for Qbred runners. We have 3 yearling sales coming up , and found out today , anyone that buys one for more than $7,500 gets a $2000 Qbred refund ! just like that ... amazing. Also found out we had a trot for 3 and 4 year old trotters last Winter (called The Great Square) first running of the race. Mark Jones had Hot To Trot in it. the winner got $87 ,000 . amazing ! The winner was 'London To A Brick' . there is great QLD money to be made these days. as you might have seen Queensland Trotter NOT AS PROMISED , racing in the Nz Derby. And he had just won the Victoria Derby and Breeders Crown double in Victoria and only collected $80 k for both those wins combined. pretty poor for 2 x Group 1 wins. We had a Slot race where the Barriers were auctioned off in advance ? The Hayden (after cricketer Matt Hayden lol) so someone bought barrier One for $19,000 . (It ran 3rd) so they collect a portion of the proceeds. The winner Speak The Truth came from barrier 10 to win it. he's a very nice QLD horse who ran 5th in the inaugural Eureka at Menangle in October too. But imagine 'buying' a barrier before the field is drawn lol. that's what they did truly !!😆😂 -

A very good Trainer is Mr Waller . hard to fault him at all the way his team races. Was meaning the incredible 'Style' of Gai Waterhouse/Bott runners. The way they race which is for a large percentage of the runners . High-Balling out in front. Most horses get run down in that style at the gallops. Gai and Adrian get more home than most. If you go fast enough you can get there with some of them anyway (the Style) Pride Of Jenni (from another stable) is the only one i can think of consistantly tried 'In Front high-balling' and has 5 wins from 25 race starts. Her last 2 starts were Group 1 wins at Flemington in 1.34.7 miles in November . so it paid off in the end . beating Mr Brightside and Alligator Blood. But most horses would of been 'broken' by that stage in spirit. getting run down after going hard All the Time. Waterhouse/ Bott seemed to have mastered the Front Running 'Style' though and continually Implement it every race-day . (with results better than other trainers anyway).. -
Craig Grylls and Robbie Patterson ...well done , Yes Indeed !
Gammalite replied to TAB For Ever's topic in Galloping Chat
Some great news too. They Broadcast those 2 Races at Trentham on Free To Air National TV Channel 7 Australia . The coverage was excellent and gave great exposure to Nz Racing . (to Aus audience) First time ever seen Nz races live on TV like that. shows the product must be very good and the nations are working well togeather to Promote Racing. and give Punters a good 'Group racing 'option to bet on with nice tough horses. -

Gammalite replied to Gammalite's topic in Trotting Chat
I saw that 😁 , and laughed and laughed . He was trying to make it sound in jest but the Racing World watching on Free to Air tele knew what he meant. Gai (and Bott) had 3 super front running winners again yesterday and they seem to do what all those fantastic trainers can't . Just like Grimson at the trots. -
Glad you had had great time Walt . Mossdale ben beaten by the handicap in the Cup. but that's the whole idea of handicaps to give everyone a chance. your 2nd pick winning off the front ok for John Dunn . Double Time should Win a few more races by the look of things. The Galah and NoworNever with some great tipping too. Forb's reading the market was writing off Muscle Bank , but he was dominant. could go on and be a Addington Winner . My place picks from the first day were terrible and not even close. I'll have to study harder lol.

CYA Art going very well. running home gamely for 3rd. Ballarat Cup. The Grimson Juggernaut alive and well at Menangle too. Trained a winner for Graeme Rogerson with Cambridge horse IILHAVABUBBLES. since starting at Brisbane and running unplaced twice at her last 2 starts at 40-1 and 20-1 , Grimson took the Horse over , and raced her at Menangle and she's won by 5 lengths in 1.51 twice, in the past 2 weeks at $1.50 then $1.10 tonight ..... staggering what this man can do.😳 ILLHAVABubbles Part owned by C Livingstone as well who also races 'Mister ROBIN HOOD' , fresh from Cambridge where had one win in 17 starts last winter there, now blasting home in 1.51 for Grimson 😎. . (started 2nd fav tonight , ran 2nd to the NSW sires stakeswinner ) Livingstones good horse has left Queensland and joined GRIMSON as well. HOT and TREACHEROUS when he lines up next will be for Grimson after near a year in QLD . What will he run next ??? 1.47 I'm picking ? 😁. he was a good horse already , so wait to he cranks him up . Will run past Swayzee probably. be like a HOT Grim Rocket lol...😅 Grimson also winning tonight with Hi MYNAMEISJEFF again in a 1.48.6 mile (beating woodhams and Kennards horse Nz FFA winner SOUTH Coast ARDEN tonight) . fricken flying machines... already a Grim Rocket 🚀 -
Group 1 Ballarat Cup tonight and Jason Grimson trying to knock off Miracle mile winners (Catch A Wave) and co with another battler. CYA ART who had just one win in Nz last year in 14 starts , and just one win previous year (at Manawatu) Can he pop a Group 1 with this horse from inside of second row tonight????? possibly.😁 another Grimson Swayzee miracle lol.. Cya Art Won a Group 2 on Boxing Day recently at Bathurst, beating old kiwi's TAIPO and SMIFFY"s TERROR too. John and Robert Dunn's old horse seems to be ending his days without winning. ALTA ORLANDO down the track at Bathurst. ALTA ORLANDO has won over a million 💰 for them but just battling now ( 5 x thirds from 11 starts this Spring/ Summer campaign for about 15k so lucky to break even) might be time to retire the old warhorse shortly. He has done enough over the years ....
