Mark still sun-baking up in Auckland after winning the Northern Oaks last week with M.Nike. Barry cleaned him up in the Derby and Cardigan Bay 2 year olds though so is working out what went wrong I guess. Allstars with 4 runners in the 3 year old colts sires stakes on Saturday . And with junior Devon Von Til driving one. does he work for the All stars now ? why doesn't Nathan drive ? used to in Aus for a while . saw him win a few in QLD.

Maybe this is THE Case for the High Court. Givealittle page?
Gammalite replied to Chief Stipe's topic in Trotting Chat
What is wrong with people ? these are fricken races where these young drivers are doing the best they can . Alicia wasn't trying to 'Not Win the Race' or anything. she only drives occasionally and is Always trying to Win if possible. The culprit here is the horse . Horses are very hard to drive on occasion. just Ask all the guys who have driven the Derby winner KRUG at different times. horses do all sorts of funny things from time to time. Case dismissed. Let Harrison drive and you get better with practise. John McMullen told me you need 4 drives every meeting to get (and keep) a decent grasp on driving and opponents . not just one here or there . that does nothing for developement as a driver. -
High Court raps RIB on knuckles over Wigg case.
Gammalite replied to Chief Stipe's topic in Trotting Chat
Well it all comes down to what the Penalty was ? was it different to other similar cases ? were they guilty? or not? I found my friend here in QLD Darrel Graham (trainer father of sky channels Brittney) had an elongated battle with Cobalt Disqualification 2015 for 15 months. still 9 months longer than 'Moods' and the galloping blokes got for cobalt. On appeal from the reduced to 1 year after a long process. and battle with QLD integrity unit. so off to the court and QLD civil and administrative Tribunal and 5 years later and an incredible $500,000 costs , he got Not Guilty in 2021 !! crazy stuff. Is funny how time and money (and probably long frustration in the legal system) they just threw it out !!!!!!😄. sick of the sight of it I spose?? a bit of a broken man after , but you wonder when is a positive not a positive then. -
Enter here for a chance at BOAY glory at Addington .💰 Even though they have done away with the Easter Cup sadly, the BOAY Easter Cup is up for grabs !!! The fields are out already on HRNZ site so pick some out !! Galloping folk more than welcome. See if you can knock off these harness stalwarts 😆. 11 x Addington races to Select. Just pick 2 Runners ( use numbers) per race . A mock $10 EW placed on each one . And we can find a winner at the end of the day !! post anytime and entries close before race 1 Saturday !!! . Any scratchings go onto horse number 1 (or No 2 if you selected No 1 already Entries should look something like this >>>>>>>>> just use numbers instead of names please. I'll post a result after each race to keep up-to-date leaderboard. Race 1 1 - 2 Race 2 3 - 4 Race 3 5 - 6 etc, etc,

G'day boys. How about some tipping Saturday then. I usually just bet Saturday afternoon gallops these days .and put picks in other sites for gallops comps. But am delighted the Addington trots are on to coincide this Easter Saturday. Let's have something so cafe and RP aren't having all the fun ? No doubt we probably won't have betting on Addington in Australia, as there are too many Aus meetings already , but not to be detered I'll still post a Easter Saturday Comp for the trotting fans. !!! 🏆

High Court raps RIB on knuckles over Wigg case.
Gammalite replied to Chief Stipe's topic in Trotting Chat
Don't forget Chief a Lot of sentences include a 'Deterrent Factor' .you must deter others from copying and doing the same thing. Every sport is Full of Copycats. Trying to get that edge on opponents 😉. Sometimes the Law Courts adjust sentences on appeal, as does the footy tribunal for Head-highs , etc. so nothing new. It comes down to the person presenting the case. I feel Dunn's were lucky to get their fines reduced from $14k and avoid a DQ even, in 2017 for Caffeine , but they must of presented a 'good' case and had a reduction. As The Galah said WIGG was caught in the act , deliberately breaking the rules , so Penalty should stand (as per McGrath and others ) you need to deter others from committing these offences. -
AND Not just Betterzippit mate. Grimson has won the last 2 Interdominion pacing Grand Finals (with Victoria cast -offs BoncelB and CastNoShadow) to sit amongst the Very Best there is as an Interdominion winning Trainer . and not even 30 years old yet. and not far off Winning in Nz either with another 're-cycled ' Victorian Majestic Cruiser . running 2nd Nz Cup and in last years Grins The Race. Took the very best in Nz to hold him out in Copy That and Self Assured. JG Has to be near the best 'Improver of Horses ' that Oz and Nz has ever seen ??

Here's a great Easter memory Newmarket , kindly posted by Ranga last year when we were perplexed as to Whatever happened to the time-honoured Easter Cup 2 mile prestigious race. Just not carded anymore sadly....😪 Photos from 1981 and 1983

June 2017 the Dunn stable had three horses disqualified for Caffiene positives after racing at Nelson. They were fined $14,000 and then appealed. The Appeal reduced their fine to $3900 each John and Robert Dunn. seems appeals pay off too then on occasion. At various times Caffiene was considered quite a serious offence. (try Phil Coulson with Junior's Image) so what is it then ?? So for anyone training >>>>>> Are the sentences because of what chemical is used ? or because they were caught using it ? before or after the race is run. is getting very confusing... Mcgrath was caught race day administering something and given 7 years . was to set the example to others I thought. Not Alford though . (who got 8 years when caught raceday) Sheryl still drives in amateur races but trains as a an open public trainer. go figure.

Well that was a poor performance by Krug tonight, Has had a poor year as a five year old , and instead of being top-liner , he looks a stallion cheat. Has been racing fierce then giving up . young Carter tries to give him time to balance , then roll forward, but he doesn't settle. Krug took control of Tony Herlihy in the Great Northern Derby that time, racing lengths clear of the field. did see it out and win but he seem's always a difficult drive. Great looking horse , but do you guys think his winning days are finished ? with this now consistant racing like a Hot-head cheat Stallion ??

Lucky Ben Yole and Aaron Bain aren't in Nz. they'd buy the lot at gavelhouse and then make a couple of entire race fields fr some cheap prizemoney in the backblocks, and then ping em off to the local greyhound trainers for a bit of tucker one by one as they get banned one by one uncompetitive, from the poor training.

The Wolves are out for Tasmanian Harness Racing
Gammalite replied to Chief Stipe's topic in Trotting Chat
Just a share with Bloodstock syndicates. AAron Bain from South Australia is the main culprit. Has swept up any cheap Nz , Qld or other horse he can find and syndicates them cheaply to race in cheap races. Has recently moved into gallopers and purchasing Magic Millions horses for a Gawler stable. Bigger money in thoroughbreds by miles , so will probably disappear from the harness scene one of these days . (along with the Tassie harness racing altogeather) Isn't that the sad truth sadly 😪. A lot of the Tassie trainers under so much pressure in their industry from the Chainsaw gang. -
The Wolves are out for Tasmanian Harness Racing
Gammalite replied to Chief Stipe's topic in Trotting Chat
I have written to Tas harness authorities, board , stewards, media , about 10 times over the past 3 years. and did not receive even one reply. They have heads in the sand. The horses (and workers) (and young drivers ) "Conditions " must be of major concern to someone surely ??? Not just to us Punters and Harness racing Fans ?. Last Friday evening at Hobart there was 8 races. The Yole stable had 4 entire fields (bar one horse) so won those 4 races ok lol......in the other 4 races he Did Not Win as Trainer, even though he had 30 runners in those 4 races as well. and only 16 horses ran against him for the whole night !!!!!!!!! poor as can be. But Get this >>> the previous weekend was the Feature Racenight of the year in Tasmania including the $150,000 Tasmania Cup . Yole had 36 starters on the night and didn't have a single placegetter , let alone a winner. Worst trainer ever , and yet SADLY is said to lead the national table (as best trainer) with 0 (yes that is Zero) metro wins for the year. 112 country wins from 1500 starts and most of those are from these 'loaded Yole races' . It's just a total disgrace and an embarassment to harness racing. NO ONE should bet on them there period, and support that Fiasco. -
Are you suggesting all the horses should be retired because racing is too stressful? Was just having a little joke Chief about the Trainer himself personally Testing Positive to something. not the horses. To answer your question though, racing can be pretty stressful for horses. they are certainly put under a lot of strain and injury (hoof and tendon mainly) are not that uncommon . not mention internal strain. But they do love to run , and are able to carry loads , etc and have helped out pulling things from Milkcarts to stagecoaches to cannons into battle for centuries. so No . no need to retire while doing something with their lives lol...... The Trainer gets best results with the best diet/add-ins and technique money can buy. To achieve this result >>>>>>>>>>>If you look good , you feel good , then you go good ? (the same for people too lol 😄)

We just saw the answer Chief.😆 Prowess Did All the Monstering with Monster Win 🏆. A Cox Plate target now ?
-
What about his horses though ??
-
Getting a bit greedy Chief ? got run down the first time so had her chance. very nice win last night though. Are you winning with the next kiwi filly PROWESS today Rosehill, in the Vinery R7. ? or going to get monstered by the local Pavitra lol 😉 ?

Go take a running Jump Forb's . Kim Butt actually helped me work out who the owners of Diego and Minstrel were on my thread about ROBIN BUTT recently. you actually contributed to that thread yourself , so should of seen that. I have No need to fake profile anyone . just a shame Fitzy and Harrison and Kim Butt and Nina can't engage in some constructive Harness talk on here. Current workers in the industry. But are chased off by SERIOUS INSULTS (and serious accusations) dished out by yourself mainly, about their 'work Colleagues' . now you're trying to Insult me ? what a waste of time going on this site. Try to be constructive and have little contests here and there, for some fun and entertainment and enjoy the racing , but slapped in the face as a troll ?? you gotta be joking. run and jump mate. 🤕🍟 p.s check with Chief then. he'll tell you I only have one profile.

mate , she won 2 last night , 3 last Friday night metro, and also 4 out of 4 wins with STEEL THE SHOW over the past month in 4 weeks since it arrived from NewZealand. The horse won None out of 10 starts for Dunns last year. So I would say that is in fact winning 'race after race' and she's driving 'pretty good' . but it might be just speculation on my part lol.....😉
-
The horse a credit to you and your family (along with the many other winners too) Ben a pretty solid 2nd on the junior drivers table (below) this season , so has done himself proud too. Forbury alas 'gives it' to certain drivers he has lost a bet on . still carries on about the greatest record competitor the country has ever seen (Mark Purdon) like you would not believe. is a bit disturbing at times, and not at all great for the site unfortunately. shame he can't move on to more constructive comment. Congrats on yet another fine Muscle Mountain win ! oh so close in that Dominion too. Sarah O'Reilly 198 23 17 21 221,813 0.1992 Ben Hope 83 13 16 4 159,672 0.2798 Mark Hurrell 94 12 9 9 115,580 0.2128 Carter Dalgety 27 10 4 5 86,020 0.5144

The kiwi connection at it again tonight in the West with Diego making it 3 straight wins this year for $375k with a win tonight in the Governor's Cup (after winning WA Cup and Pinjarra Cup prior) for owners Syd and Shona Brown . Robin and Jackie Butts horse Minstrel was also 3rd tonight , but won the FFA last week and 100k this year. is great prizemoney they race for in West Australia. Both horses with Female drivers . Deni Roberts seems to have taken over all the BOND team driving and is winning races hand over foot. the girls are killing it with wins.🥇 and Maddison Brown has won a heap of races with Diego past year or 2 and drives very well for Team HALL. She was an apprentice jockey 2 and rode over 200 races about 5 years ago for about 30 wins !! talk about multi talented ?!🏇🏇🏆. Maddison's dad Colin Brown being a leading horseman in WA for many years.

Yes and Tommy Berry doing 10 months now for 'having a bet' .. I guess that is fairly consistant with Jmac himself and Ollie as well in the past. I think a lot of the jocks have a bet though . Home straight riding looks to my eye to be fairly good in Australia. (although Berry and Bowman did 6 suspension weeks each after bringing down rivals Adkins and Avdulla and their mounts were destroyed past couple of years) Do jockeys think they can change ground more in NZ Freda? a lot of the tracks look cut up and horses drift wide Way more than in Oz through the year ? then things like the 'Prowess incident' occur, as the jocks are 'More Familiar ' with this looking for better ground routine. I realise Prowess was crowding others rather than looking for better ground , a bit like Gentleman Roy , who had a bigger prize-money race taken off him in Melbourne recently running out.

No. they pinged the horse. (has to get Vet certificate and scoping , trial as well or something) . I'm ok with that . that is more often the case and happens most races. Even though the driver is at fault on occasion. ALWAYS BLAME THE HORSE is golden rule1 in the stewards room. horses don't answer back or care about it later 😆. Overall though , I think the driving standard is very high in Oz and Nz and therefore when something 'bad' or 'not the usual fare' happens , everyone is all over it like a rash. Forb's spotted one of these on another thread here, (amongst the many he spots ) with a Junior driver making an error the other night at Addington driving something he backed. Devon Van til driving a fav Anything Goes. It was a pretty poor error. But still it's just a junior driver , and you can't all be Tony Herlihy's, peter Wolfenden's, Mark purdon's or Chris Alford's . there is gunna be mistakes while you are learning?. (it wasn't a junior driver race either) I think even Brodies BBF Carter, made mistakes at Menangle last Sat with Krug and Republican Party. Still young and learning. But 'after the race' it's easier to pick on tactics than 'before a race' I guess . (especially if it don't pay off lol...💰) 😁

yeah pretty silly Chief. If you had the draw to lead and get there first the right is yours to retain it. ... The bloke attacking on the outside is always guilty in my opinion. he should use his common sense. BRADLEY WILLIAMSON guilty of this himself Very Recently. Attacking the Interdominion Winner 'Just Believe' ($2.20 fav) with Majestic Man in a Group 1 Trot on 25th Feb at Melton the other day. crazy stuff. Ended up getting beaten 50m and getting his grand old trotter Stood down . what an incompetent drive 😪 so even if Not deserving the Penalty of 4 week suspension on the 'Kenny' drive , deserved 4 weeks out, for the very poorly judged Majestic Man drive feb 25th IMO anyway lol. 👍

Seven Team BOAY Challenge. Miracle Mile night across 8 races.
Gammalite replied to Gammalite's topic in Trotting Chat
😄 well spotted . We had 5 very strong teams for the fun contest (with The galah and Brodie enjoying their Nz reps as a whole) but for the sixth team for old mate Chief, i tried to pick last place 😆. (Chief is giving us the cold shoulder at present lol 🤕) ended up with 2 x lasts, 1 x 2nd last and 4 x 3rd lasts (and a 4th place) so not to far off the mark 😆😎
