  1. Great photo Blackie . Has actually captured 3 NZ Cup winners in it. !!! The year 'before' Steel Jaw here, and the year 'after' winners there many lengths behind !!!
  2. Has Blair gone to sleep ? He's that far clear of the field that it was hard to stay awake in this win. Ant's may of got the choc's in the FFA yesterday , but back to 2nd for the big Show Day Classic as the kiwis repel the Aussie raider in the form of this Trotter . Who is todays Big Winner?
  3. shoulda ,woulda , coulda lol.😆 Hey what do you think of that great crowd in the photo background there witnessing the NZ trotting FFA ? (counting that as an Aussie quinella ? even though 2 of them are kiwis ? lol😅) Ranga spot on BTW and takes the points.🥇 Nearly all youngsters and all dressed up very Spiffy and looking good there in the background ?. What a fantastic sight at the harness racing. !!!! nice and classy in Christchurch. They had some Vic Cup coverage on free to air TV the other night from Melton, and most of the crowd looked like they were going to a barbie, camping or something. The trainers and owners they interviewed even looked average. (in comparison to that nz photo)
  4. With Cup week approaching I'm Lovin this photo of a couple of the greats ! A Couple of the best drivers I've ever seen , as in their Will To Win and ability to jump on any horse and give it a go , and go close to winning. They are 2 of the greats alright. The 2 Trotters in the photo here weren't absolute stars , but tried hard (and did leave 'Sundee' down the track in this one lol ) So who is this Handy 'quartet' in for 10 points ??
  5. Could be some hope in the Cup?. Ray Green would of been very 'easy' on him , after that little health issue of blood in the nostril and was just a head from 3rd horse in Vic Cup. (winner way too good for everyone in that) Ray has prepared him to win the Cup already (last year) so knows how to do it. not many do. so that gives him plenty of kudos/respect to do the job again possibly . He prepared American Dealer to win the QLD Derby here over Krug so is impressive trainer from what I have seen. Set the KING OF SWING (best in the land) on his road to glory as well prior as well. If ROCK N ROLL DOO steps clean in the Nz Cup next month, he wins it. That Vic Cup win was ultra impressive , and the horse is well , and enjoying it , and flying at the moment.
  6. Well he's not going around anymore. and this looks to be part of the reason. I didn't know any of this stuff so was interesting in finding out why /what happened. Yes it would be nicer to retire from the sport in nicer circumstances. (But many don't alas) Why can't Phil Butcher and Geoff Small make a come-back this year then with a horse ? That would be more recent for you? 😉 . and un-tarnish their reputation with some Training and driving
  7. Caulfield Last 5 races yesterday were a Great Example. Yes, the racing show and blokes and broadcasters were patting themslves on the backs yesterday and getting extremely cocky as the 3 near Even money, heavily backed favourites went bang, bang, bang. and they had picked 3 winners in a row !! (doesn't happen often lol ) Paulele, Anamoe then Golden Mile, .... so then were saying their 'all ups' and 'Multis' were looking good with the 'best 2 horses' at even money still to come in the shape of I Wish i Win and Zapateo. (both unplaced by the expert 'mock' in the last 2 races ) back to the grindstone lol.
  8. hahaha clean forgot about him. Won the very first Miracle Mile run at Menangle too. should of remembered. (Blacks A Fake ran last in it)... probably why I put that race out of mind !! lol.....
  9. Mark Jones going very well again lately.!! Partnered with Brendon Hill for a while there to pool there resources I guess ? a couple of years ago . but broke it off again. just wondering guys, What horses did Brendon Hill have of note over the years ? can't think of anything in feature racing but must of been some?
  10. Todays horse in above post with blue wheels sulky, is shown winning her NSW Oaks heat easily for Mark. Who is she? Fellow kiwi traveller, Dr Susan won the other Oaks heat easily but drew 9 in the NSW Oaks final and so then Anthony Butt got a months suspension for cutting them all off to get the lead !!! 😅. He then handed up to Mark P who did his usual thing and powered away to Victory anyway .! (Having said that Mark was only 2nd to Dr Susan in the Victoria Oaks earlier with this horse lol )
  11. Ranga is the ULTIMATE master blaster Blackie . That is unbelievable you picked that up. !!! 😧😆Could of sworn that was the Vic Oaks as she carried the Yellow number 5 to Victory in that. upon review she had a yellow sulky in Victoria too lol.... This photo is 2 weeks before her Vic Oaks win in Jan 2020. Is Dr Susan (hanging on to win by a head from Vincenzina in 1.52.1 ) in her Very first Australian start in the Group 2 Raith Memorial at MENANGLE. (Points update now Ranga 50 , Blackie 20, Hunter 1, Gamma -10. lol)
  12. What ? the Vic Oaks at Menangle ?? . lose a point 😉. Dr Susan winning the Vic Oaks at Melton for Ants and then ran 4th in the NSW Oaks (to Marky boy) in the 2020 hot summer days.... Here's the one that beat her into 4th at Menangle .... not too hard ?
  13. And to complete an exciting night as ace driver Kate Gath takes the Vic Oaks. Encipher winning. Kate is totally amazing , she is actually going to run the New York Marathon next month. (she literally goes for one hour 'runs' between drives at some country meetings during the week ) Marky Boy would be proud of Nathan Purdon too. Another Oaks placing for AMORE VITA running 3rd for her Nz owners and ex-pat trainer . a good effort.
  14. Well the 2 kiwi trained horses were 6th Major Perry (Scott Phelan + Barry) and 8th Simply Sam for Ray Green, in the Derby. The last NZ Cup winner COPY THAT was 4th in the Victoria Cup for Ray Green, after trailing along 3 back the fence. The winner ROCK N ROLL DOO (sat parked out and left the ear-plugs in he won so easy😯 ) incredible !! ............And is all set to tackle the NZ Cup next month. what a challenge !! this is gunna be great !!. Look out Marky boy !
  15. There goes the Derby and it's the Queenslander !!! LEAP TO FAME . there he goes the best horse in Australia as predicted . What a performance . Powered away from the field in near track record. Got on the Eureka next year now if you can !!!
  16. yes , this stuff looks quite bad indeed from a Nz Newspaper............ Prominent harness racing trainer Geoff Small has been fined a total of $18,000 and lost his harness driver's license for four months. Small, of south Auckland, has also been ordered to pay costs of $9700 by the Judicial Control Authority (JCA), which today released its decisions into five charges against him, some dating back two years. The JCA sat in Auckland last month and heard charges that included one of misconduct relating to Small's behaviour towards Alexandra Park veterinarian Ivan Bridge in October, 2008. Some of the charges dated back two years, with one involving a positive test to caffeine being returned by his star pacer Changeover after he won the Sires' Stakes Final. Another charge was improper driving on Pocket Baileyship. Stewards alleged Small moved off the markers while trailing in a 2006 race at Alexandra Park, allowing stablemate Changeover to improve his position. Changeover won that race. Small contested the charges but the JCA ruled against him today.
  17. The Victoria Cup , Derby, and Oaks night at Melton is being broadcast live on tele racing. com . Very rare indeed. we get 365 days of 24 hour gallops . and about 2 nights of trots per year broadcast free to air . So far the top lady drivers have won the 3 broadcast races . Kate Gath 2 and Kerryn Manning 1. Kate won with PULL THE OTHER LEG already who had his 4th win from 6 starts since popping over from Cambridge in Winter. ARGYLE trained by kiwi Ray Green ran 2nd for a nice $34 quinella for the kiwis ! former South islander HARRY STAMPER galloped when looking likely in the 2 year old trot feature unfortunately. big races still to come , and the FFA has MAJOR JELLIS for some kiwi owners and Tango Tara about to go.
  18. Think it's Awesome Armbro (PhilButcher) taking on the leader Auckland Reactor for the benefit of Changeover (David Butcher) who sat 1-1 ,and then only got 3rd anyway. Nz FFA worth $1/4 mill.
  19. The feature day arrives for Vic Cup , Derby and Oaks. This man in photo not without a chance in the Oaks as won a heat well with ELEGANT last week. Has drawn well against seven Emma Stewart fillies too. Ants knows how to ''Do the Job' too. Proven form on the board with this Filly. Who is she ?
  20. The World Record holder !!! runs more like a greyhound than a Bulldog 😆. 11th straight win in that photo on October 1st. Might never get defeated again ? Too quick. Dexter driving beautifully for some Nz glory there!!! . Todd McCarthy driving the 2nd horse in photo (forgot it's name ) but doing Oz proud too getting a few USA winners. (and 2nds )
  21. Horse and driver Please ???
  22. One of my favourite drivers was on song with 3 wins last night at Addington. She is driving with great gusto and looks in great knick for a few more wins too lol..... Great drive on MONACO GRACE !!. full initiative, popping out of trail, and then to rate her to perfection in the Flying Fillies series race , leaving all the 3 ALLStars horses unplaced .😧. great effort. And HOT TO TROT .!!!! (best named trotter going around , Whatta great name !!😊) beating the hotshot Highgrove too. Go Sam !!!!! Anyone else have a favourite driver ? and why ? (maybe a big collect once or something? )
  23. 'Cant finda BettorMan' than Rangatira around these parts they tell me. Didn't pluck the filly (from that above photo) with the amazing beautiful Nz scenery (mountains behind a racetrack type thing) in the background. spectcular ! and I'll give you triple points if can get the 2nd placegetter there of Allstars as well. ?
  24. Actually you guys might not of seen the QLD derby winner race so better throw in a NZ horse today then you would of seen ,that has taken him on . (this week even lol) In fact this bloke was a narrow 2nd in the race Photo above, but didn't get in that picture . Karrots would of loved him. Here he is .... Who is this fellow strutting about ready to win in Nz.? (Didn't think you were allowed rein burrs anymore.? maybe in the deep south they're still stuck on ).
  25. Todays horse's set for a Big week (and tipping the win) as we get closer to the Vic Derby day too. here's the Big Bull ready to win the Derby too 🏆. What a machine.!!! And a brilliant Nz horse already tripping the light fantastic. Is this the next Superstar ? yep..... Who do we have here then ?
