Once again proving to be a race for the very best. Thought the Interdominion Winner was going to win it for a second there. (I Cast No Shadow an ex-pat kiwi a great 2nd) But the Interdominon 4th placegetter Honolua Bay , going like Cardigan Bay , takes the win for the Emma Stewart powerhouse stable. ( now surpassed McCarthy's) Old Town Road a brilliant 3rd with a big drive looking for the win a lap out too. what an effort !! great horse.
-
And Carter making Nz (esp Brodie) proud with a Great drive to win the Hondo Gratten G3 race just now with Republican Party. great lead up to the Chariots of Fire. What is going on with this Mick Guerin? he is doing the coverage here on free-to-air tele tonight. The bloke talks non-stop without a breath for like 4 minutes. rabbiting on so much , you can't follow what he's on about half the time 😂

couldn't agree more Forbs. everything is so much harder. you can work a few standardbreds togeather. they're much calmer. Have to be certain weight or rely on someone that is to exercise them . that is really against many harness folk taking up the hobby. Getting the buggers to run fast and try and beat the rivals is very hard work. Harness horses conditioned to it with solid 'mental' training that is applied to the animal. trailing another, sitting outside it, leading at all costs. they tune in a LOT better than thoroughbreds. Dux tried it for a while here , but went back to trots as results were much harder to get at Eagle Farm lol. and it's great having horses that can race week in week out all year long. Good old hardy Standardbreds !!!!
-
Has won near $100,000 in just 2 wins from 9 starts this season. Phelan the Power doing well. The 'entire harness team's earnings this season (January) 50 starters for just 5 wins and a paltry $50,000. yeah might as well just train gallopers ?

Forbury Members 275 438 posts Posted 21 hours ago (edited) Here is a young kid that's on the rise.hes always not afraid to try his best to get the best out of his horses he drives from the beginning.he has nothing but improved as a driver yep. regarding Zev Meredith. Good call it seems Forb's 👍. Just watching a replay of the Trotters Gold Cup at Cambridge last night and he drove a great race on one of Dr Luk Chin horses's. Safrakova didn't look particularly easy to drive either, and he had to urge it along on several occasions , including pulling the ear-plugs down the back straight , and slipping the field as best he could on the turn. A top drive !! well done to the young fella ! and also to the good 'Dr' who bred, trained and part owned the quinella duo.🏆

And wins the WA Cup too for the Hall team. Gary jnr 9th success in the states biggest race. (13 for his dad Gary training) congrats to the Brown family from Mosgiel !!! a great win for Nz.

The $450,000 WA Cup about to go off in the wild west, and the Locarno/ Camelot man Robin Butt is going in strong as a part owner. (MINSTREL and HIMSELF tonight) There's also a J R Butt in the ownership group (and also the breeding party of HIMSELF) so was wondering is that Robin's wife maybe ? does someone know? The Bond and Hall stables once again with a majority of the field in these sort of wild west races. The Number 1 horse DIEGO , driven by Gary Hall jnr , is owned by it's breeders S A and S B Brown (perhaps some more kiwi owners?) Diego and Minstrel drawn to give the race a shake from the inside draws anyway. I'm sure they could show the 'books' if you like to the TAB bloke taking the bet. EXAMPLE >>>Say BGP want $100,000 on a horse for 2000 BGP players. thats $500 each. surely the Tab still takes $500 on a gallops meeting? and might as well take it as one bet that piddling around listing the 2000 players one by one ??? can't see a problem with it myself. great publicity and all. yeah .. definitely . these small amounts amongst hundreds of people is people having Fun on the horses. nothing to do with money laundering. BGP small fry in the global scheme of things. Star Casino in Sydney in real trouble with money Laundering with the HUGE spending Chinese trying to get absolute HUGE bets on , and get the money to China or where-ever. Huge amounts involved and they (Star) were investigated and were stopped trading at one stage last year. but have paid their way out of it somehow. A REAL problem now and going forward..............

Keep going while in good form. WFA at Te Rapa Feb 11th is a target. no weight being a 3 yearold against the oldies. always a welcome relief. Oppie won't make the weight so gives lighter jocks a crack at it. put the slow ones in the paddock is what Vinnie Knight always said lol... keep the fast ones on the track. plenty of time for grass later when the dealings done .😁😉
-
BoysGet Paid started off with about a $1,000,000 Saturday invested for a large amount of players. The finish total was about 1/2 million , so all the players are refunded half their original stake. There was a lot of players so you are being tricked by the one leader title of BGP. very much bit like everyone being tricked rubbishing their political 'leaders' when it is the party behind the scenes that is the driver of a political party. Labor voted back in here but things still the same ... inflation.. cost of living ... yadda-yadda-yadda.... Casinos have a limit , but can invite high -rollers to 'behind closed doors ' big bets if they feel like it. You have to have a limit for Joe Blow punters though. Some would do there arse completely otherwise ??? more than who would win anyway. You might win Brodster (kerry Packer the 2nd you are 😂) but PLENTY would lose mate .NOT Good 😩. better to have a controlled outlay like those punters that pop some in with BGP. Way better discipline that way ,and they back GOOD horses too... good on em !!!!!!!!! i like them for the FUN they bring to the table 🏆😉💰🍟

WELL DONE TAB... BALLARAT CUP FIELD ODDS OUT ALREADY
Gammalite replied to Davis's topic in Trotting Chat
Well it was the only one on back row in the last at Ballarat. Got the Dream run through to 3rd early , should of pressed on to the top . Jack Laugher made mistake and tried to take hold for 1-1 sit but was fighting the horse thereafter. Not a great strategy. horse didn't like the lugging pole IMO either. ran on ok late, but young lass in front rated the Marg Lee horse perfectly for win... -
WELL DONE TAB... BALLARAT CUP FIELD ODDS OUT ALREADY
Gammalite replied to Davis's topic in Trotting Chat
Well it's the great colour combo of 'green and orange' that takes the Victory. Grimson's lot of 3 horses failed on this occasion. Emma Stewart duo in for 2nd and 4th places went well. But all honours with COPY THAT tonight in Ballarat Cup . Way to good for them in distance racing. another cup for the double Nz Cup champion. well done Ray and Blair. -
